>> tiffany tarpley is live on scene getting the latest >> reporter: within the last hour we have seen additional investigators arrive at the scene. we are along clifton near west 112. this is an apartment building and let's show you up close what it looked like. you can see how the windows on the second floor were smashed and investigators are trying to piece is together. this morning and three people are being treated at metrohealth medical center. 2 suffered critical injuries and another had minor injury. all of them are adults. witnesses described them jumping from the second-floor of the apartment building >> i heard the noise of glass shattering and next thing you know the guy jumped out the window. he was filled with black smoke

just before 3:30. witnesses described heavy flames and also heard glass breaking and one woman said she saw two people jumping from the second- floor. three people total were injured and two of them suffered critical injuries and another suffered minor injuries. we rx more about the condition later. the driver who hit and killed an ohio state trooper will be in court today. joshua gaspar is cartwright with aggravated vehicular homicide in the death of trooper kenneth velez. his attorney plans to present a doctor's report that says he was not high on drugs at the time of the crash. his attorney says he had taken a prescribed dose of methadone as part of treatment for an addiction to painkillers and he's in jail on $500,000 bond.
