we are clear on the traffic map. no problems to report. i was tracking slow traffic where 90 and 490 meet but that's cleared out. here's 90 at fulton road into and out of downtown by the inner belt no probable. for those traveling 90 between 490 and 83 heading west 16 minutes and east 16 minutes. if you travel 409 between 71 and east 55th, two minutes east and 3 minutes heading west so al delays. cleveland police are on the hunt for the people who shot two children. >> tiffany tarpley joins us live from metrohealth medical center and police say it was a drive-by shooting. >> reporter: it was before 10:30 that someone fired the bullets in the direction of the home. as you said, the two girls taken here to metro health medical center. we know one was taken here in serious condition.

let's go ahead and show you where this happened. it was on dudley near west 73rd. sources tell us that a 3-year- old girl was shot in the face. the 9-year-old was shot in the back. now, a neighbor who didn't want to be identified didn't want her face on camera tells us she heard five shots. >> they were really really deep sound boom, pow i know the babies had nothing to do with anything but it's always the babies that get hu up the ones paying for something that i am sure was not worth it. >> reporter: she also tells us that neighborhood is no stranger to violence. police say they are looking for a dark colored vehicle and they are looking for at least two people who were involved in this shooting. reporting live at metro, tiffany tarpley channel 3 news. >> all right. now to where the sheriff department is asking for help

a man in plain township at middle branch road and route 62 just before 10 p.m. when troopers arrived they found a man lying in the road. there's a description of the car involved a 2011, 2012 hyundai sonata with damage to the passenger side mirror and possible damage to the front and passenger side. the parma school district is15 million dollars in debt and proposing job cuts and closing down some schools. parents and students are not y maureen kyle joins us live with more on what happened during a heating meeting last night. >> reporter: we started to see this happen overnight. it's a simple math lesson. when there are more expenses than there is money, something needs cut but the thought of losing schools and programs set off emotions. take a look. hundreds of students from valley forge and normandy marched in the streets and held signs and made their way to the auditorium at parma high school. the crowd was overflowing as 15

a cooler weekend which i will get to. low 60s at 9. by lunchtime we are well on our way at 72 degrees. that's above normal highs and then upper 70 toss near 80 degrees -- 70s to near 80 degrees. no fog to worry about this morning because we have a bit of a breeze. and whenever there's wind it mixes the atmosphere. so it's very hard for any fog to form unlike the past couple mornings when we have been calmer. and as we do look ahead on future view it's more same. we get the beautiful warmups in the day, and then we cool down just right at night. and we are looking ahead to you know tonight and into your thursday because of course the indians play tomorrow evening and we have got another game on friday. the weather looks super for all of the above and in fact even as we talk the evening weather for tomorrow night. we are close to normal highs during the game which doesn't start until 8:08 tomorrow night

today high pressure is in control and we are forecasting sunshine. we talked about the shower chances getting into the weekend and what's next and there's a cold front to the west. it's not going to pack a big punch as far as rainfall amounts. it locks like it will be scattered and pretty small chances as we get into the day on saturday. about a 40% chance is what i forecast at this point. should that change i will let you know but it will cool us down as we head into weekend. we have some showers associated with the cold front this morning that we are seeing to the west. and the huge sorry and the story that's nationally and really across the -- story and the story that's nationally and really across the globe is hurricane matthew. since you've gone to bed winds are 125 miles an hour. it's moving to the north consistently at 8 miles an hour. so on this general track it takes it up along the east

eventually but all along the east coast we have got to watch the very closely because any deviation in this track could be catastrophic. now as far as rainfall potential, and this is taking into account the current thinking, even with the center staying offshore, we are still talking anywhere from 7 to 10 inches of rain from the south florida coast all the way up through georgia and the carolinas and that's a rainfall. in a very short amount of time. and numerous warnings are obviously in place. wee we have evacuations in the bahamas and things. and you know florida is under warnings as well. what i want to show you here and this is really i think a helpful tool for you to take into account can at home. these are all the different forecast models we use every line represents one. so, there are so many scenarios that can happen. hurricane center goes down the

shot and killed her and then killed himself. it happened yesterday morning. at the burger king on west 110th and lorain. police identified the shooter as 45-year-old jorge aviles and the victim 38-year-old erlyn rivera-cintron. coworkers say he was the father of the couple's three kids. two miami university students were shot at a house near campus. oxford police are looking for two gunmen this morning. the university alert saying it happened before 8 on north campus avenue during an apparent robbery. students both men, have nonlife- threatening injuries. no criminal charges will be filed against a former avon hotel clerk who police say mistook a muslim man for a terrorist. ahmed al-menhaly. was wearing traditional dress and the hotel clerk saw him talk on a couple cell phones and texted her sift here called

we start your morning rush with the developing story out of cleveland's west side. two little girls are recovering here at metro after being shot during a drive by. it happened on dudley near west 73rd and it was just before 10:30 last night. cleveland ems tells us that one of the little girls was taken here in critical condition. the other serious. they are both 3 and 9 years old. of course this is a story we will continue to follow. police tell us they are looking for a dark colored vehicle and

maureen. >> thanks. emotion ran high last night in parma after the school board president walked off the job in the middle of the packed meeting because the district is facing 15 million dollars in debt. hundreds of students marched in the streets held signs and made their way to the auditorium at parma high school. 15 minutes into the school board meeting, president kathleen petro resigned. school district is threatening layoffs and program cuts and closing down schools. they are going to ask the state for an extension. john. democrat tim kaine and republican mike pence face-off in the first and only vice presidential debate and spent most 09 minutes defending their running mates but lot of analysts says pence won debate. former president bill clinton will campaign for his wife in canton this afternoon and will make an appearance at ironworkers local training center to lay out hillary's plans for the economy. danielle. >> reporter: thanks so much

downtown cleveland. it's at west 25th street and you see slowing in the area. here's picture near fulton where the right shoulder is blocked. we are seeing a 10 minute delay and into downtown from lakewood on 90 east as well as 5 minute delay on 71 north into downtown and 77 north. hollie. >> we are forecasting a beautiful day upper 70s and lots and lots of sun behind today. we are going to end up -- sunshine today. we are going to keep the weather in place through the en week. looks great for tomorrow and friday too. we have got the indians playing tomorrow and friday and weather is going to be really amazing for the games. now to the weekend we have some shower chances for saturday nothing too crazy as far as rain probabilities but we are going to cool down in the low 60s. and then back into the upper 60s with more sunshine heading into early next week. what a stretch we have had of course on the today show they will be focusing on the latest of hurricane matthew coming up in minutes.
