are tracking hurricane matthew. >> we are and i will have the latest on matthew coming up in a few minutes. starting off with our local weather this thursday and it's going to be another beautiful day. we have so much going on with the indians. cloud cover to start this morning and that's a bit of a change. partly to mostly cloudy skies at the moment but i think we will transition to a lot of sunshine once we are into the afternoon. 74 by lunch. 78 the high today. we hit 78 yesterday. and just as planned. so not really hurting anybody but we go to sunshine into the afternoon. and continue to see plenty of it into the early evening before it is set. the next thing on the agenda is the front we are tracking. and it is going to bring cooler weather. we will talk about how cool we get and the shower chance potential because you know it has been pretty rain free through the week. and, of course, the latest on matthew. there has been an update within the last hour. i will let you know. let's check the drive and all

northbound drive on 77 is also looking good. i will update you on the traffic throughout the rest of the morning. bouncing ball first base and indians win it. davis comes home to score and ramirez once again delivers. >> it is game day. cleveland indians host the first post season game since 2013. tonight they take on the boston red sox in game one of the american coverage out at progressive field all morning. john starts our coverage with a look at what to expect for tonight's game and you said the indians are underdogs. >> they are underdogs. a lot of the national media is looking at boston and they think they are the mighty red sox but as you saw the indians team never quit. this year a lot of comeback wins and take about a -- talk about a great opportunity for

and calls this a dream come true. the indians come in considered by many as the underdog even though they had a better record by one win and they have home field advantage. a lot of that talk is because of the injuries to dandy salazar and carlos. think about if they had the two in the start rotation. red sox are the number one hitting team in america and indians the second. there's going to be big time pressure for bauer under right attitude. >> i just want to get a good start with the team. so aid big responsibility. something you grow up dreaming about doing especially against a team as storeied as the red sox as good as the red sox are. should be a lot fun. i am really look forward to it. >> i am not sure a lot of pitchers will say it's going to be a lot of fun to play the boston lineup but maybe that's why he has the right attitude heading into the game.

getting rade to help after this -- ready to help after the storm passes and right now from what we understand from the national hurricane center, it looks like right now it's a category 3 hurricane. but it could reach category 4 status. all right tiffany thanks so much. 6:08. lorain county sheriff department is investigating this morning after two toddlers a 22-month-old girl and 23- month-old boy were found in a swimming pool. one of the children died. the other is condition. deputies say the children were at a home operated day care and found in the above ground pool. it's not clear how long they were in the water. the two kids are cousins no charges have been filed. we are going to rise again and do it together. god bless you. >> former president bill clinton was in ohio yesterday campaigning for his wife. and he had reason to celebrate

you know we have got more of the warm fall weather tobrag about and it's going to be terrific for the tribe game and we are still talking a cooler weekend and talking more about hurricane matthew. there have been updates since you've gone to bed and we have a update within the show this morning. some clouds to start as i said so don't be surprised if it's more of a filtered sunshine for some of you to start the day. 64 degrees at 9. 74 at noon. 78 at 5. we hit 78 yeste you can see over the next 12 hours how we pick up on cloud cover here initially and then make the transition to more and more sunshine. so that's going to be the case. a little cloud cover is not going to hurt a thing. we are talking about the cold front moving through as we get into the first part of the weekend. and i am still not thinking it's going to be impressive as far as showers for us. but it will cool us down and we will make -- it will make us feel like we should this time year even a few degrees below.

in wind speed within the past hour here from the national hurricane center. wind are now at 125 miles an hour. that's stale category 3. category 4 starts at 130 miles an hour. it's moving northwest at now 12 so that's an increase in speed. that northwest movement is what has everybody so concerned. and specifically florida. it is at this point over the bahamas and it's really been battering the central ou asleep and this morning. expected to be a category 4 approaching florida. and as we do look ahead it appears that you know with all the warnings and evacuations in place it's for good reason. it's going to be approaching florida's coast heading into the evening and tonight. these are the various computer model forecast again the hurricane center tends to go right down the middle of all that. and as we take a look at the projected path the only saving

sea again once it passes georgia and south carolina. fingers crossed because you know the less of it the better but it's still early and we have changed the forecast and tweaked it so much. rainfall potential is going to be 10 inches plus in some spots for florida. up the georgia and south and even parts of the north carolina coast. we will keep you up-to-date with the latest. this catastrophic potential. so, it is worth paying attention to every bit of updates as they come in. upper 70s on your window nation 7-day and doesn't it make you feel grateful and blessed for the weather we have going on. really, as we get into the weekend, small shower chances for saturday otherwise 60s and looking like it's going to be seasonal heading into next week. 6:17 and here's a check on your

6:36 in our other top story hurricane matthew. the category 3 nearing category 4 storm is moving closer to florida. local volunteers are also on their way to help. tiffany tarpley joins us live from the american red cross in cleveland and workers are leaving today. >> reporter: lynna we know two workers will be leaving from here in cleveland two others from canton. that's going to be happening around 9:00 this morning. but you know who else is leaving right now? in miami let's go ahead show you this live video right now. people are leaving there because of the storm. you can see here both lanes on the highway both are headed in the direction away from the storm's path. people are trying to get out of town at this point. we know the latest track of this storm shows matthew hitting parts of the central bahamas and it's expected to strengthen as it gets closer to florida and hollie told us all morning it has done so.

hurricane matthew and this just in this morning while you were asleep it intensified. it's still a category 3 but barely. wind at 125 miles an hour, 130 is category 4. it sped up a bit from 10 miles an hour was the last update and it's expected to be a category 4 as it approaches the southeast coast of florida. you will see the various tracks here and all of our different computer model forecast. moral of the story is on that. still looks like it's going to curve back out to the atlantic as it approaches north carolina. hopefully, that is the case. but in the meantime, catastrophic damage and we are talking flooding rains and crazy storm surge not only for florida but up through georgia south carolina. we will update you. 7-day forecast 70s for highs and close to 80 through the end of the work and school week. football tomorrow night will be great.
