came to personal attacks. but sometimes what they said was true and sometimes it was false. we crosschecked severalreferences to see how accurate the mudslinging was. first hillary clinton addressed the e-mail controversy saying there was no evidence that any classified information ended up in the wrong hands. now it is true there's no evidence but that doesn't moon she wasn't hacked. hackers can gain access but leave no trace. so this was not a fair statement. now to trump didn't tweet out that miss universe alicia machado what sex tape this is false washington post nbc politifact found the tweet sent at 5:30 a.m. on september 30th saying did crooked hillary help disgusting check out sex tape in past alicia m become a citizen. clinton addressed health care saying we are at 09% health insurance coverage that's the highest we have been in our

6:11. okay the second presidential debate is in the books. donald trump and hillary clinton shared the stage in st. louis. >> it's great to have them chuck todd is joining us this morning with the recap of the debate and chuck, this date got very personal and very quickly. what are your biggest take aways from what you saw last night? >> reporter: well, you know, ok debate in a vacuum with every thing that was happening around the debate as the backdrop from the lewd video of trump to the trump campaign's decision to make the first hour first part of the predebate about bill clinton and his accusers. so, it was such an ugly start and such an ugly backdrop that to sit here and look at the 90 minutes in a vacuum is hard.

here's why he feels good. and i don't know if that's a good thing for the republican party. he unload on her and -- unloaded on her and his supporters are happy because he said he would put her in jail and things like that. but i don't think trump did anything to make republican leaders feel any better about his candidacy. and if anything it puts him in a rougher box than ever because the trump base is as fired up as they have been asn long time but what he did last night did than anything that happened up until this point. >> interesting. okay so let's look ahead to the next debate october 19th. you know barring any crazy drama revealed between now and then is there anything that could be handled in the third and final debate that we haven't touched respond yet. >> reporter: well how about issues? i will be honest we haven't had- - there hasn't been any
6:13 am
and most of that i think is because most of it has been about trump and about his antiics and different things he said or what he decided to make the debate about. so if you ask me what would be great about the third debate is if we saw them get down into the weeds on trade and get into the weed on immigration. we have yet to have back and forth on what they would do on immigration reform. so, look it's long way to the third debate. ve hours are going to tell us more about the future of this race than before anything happens in the next debate. >> chuck we have a few seconds any chance you think they will talk issues or are we going to have more of the same. >> reporter: i think the trump campaign feels satisfied about the direction they have taken and i think it will get personal darker and uglier. >> thanks so much chuck. appreciate your time. >> let's. >> can you imagine?
