upper 40s once we get past this morning and we are around 51 degrees at hopkins. rain showers have been prevalent the past several hours and we have rain around akron and into canton this morning. and as we look through stark county moderate rains in spots and slow downs there. further north we are seeing more showers moving in off the lakes. this is happening behind the cold front that did push through and through lake county we are seeing er well. so, plan on extra time. once we get past the next few hours i think it's going to be a lot of overcast skies. this is 1, 1:30 can't rule out a little sprinkle here and there but a lot of cloud cover otherwise. that's going to cause slow downs the wet roads this morning danielle has a look at the commute so far good morning. >> reporter: good morning. here's pinningture-- here's the picture at 77 and akron green area.

nationally and locally on this side. >> we will keep following it thanks so much tiffany. we also know republicans will maintain control of the house of representatives for another 2 years at least. according to nbc news the gop is taking 236 to the democrats 199. it took 218 to claim the majority. the republicans held control since after the 2010 election. and we know will remain in republican control after winning at least 5 of the 8 crucial races including indiana and pennsylvania. the senate has been in the hands of republicans since 2014 and notable republicans john mccain and marco rubio kept their seats in arizona and florida respectively. democrats did pick up a seat in illinois and kept a nevada seat that harry reid held for 30 years. and in ohio rob portman won

strickland. portman's campaign highlighted ohio's economic struggles which saw 350,000 jobs lost while strickland was in office. portman spoke early last night in columbus. >> thank you ohio. i ran as an independent voice and common sense conserve viewtive who focus on results and talked about the 45 bills that i have been able to write that have become the law of the land. >> this one didn't take long strickland concede shortly before.m was not what he hoped for but he is grateful to have had the opportunity to speak out for hard working ohioans. in cuyahoga county another race the income tax increase. the increase from 2% to 2.5% was approved by voters 51% to 49%. this is the first income tax increase since 1981. >> there was a big win for the cleveland school district last night. after voters approved the tax

still another big issue to watch. andrew horansky, channel 3 news. we are watching your money because this could be a big story as the day plays out. and the markets are reacting in a big way this morning to the trump victory. let's start until the united states, and we will bounce around. dow jones futures plummeted by 800 points as the trump campaign gained steam and stayed in the evening. some were saying the plunge could even eclipse the shocker that rocked markets in europe and across the world. dow futures have been rebounding since then and it started that movement started when hillary clinton concede so right now the dow futures are at 298 points down. europe across the board they saw big drops as well but now those markets are starting to rally. asia was closed first overnight and so their markets took the biggest hits nikkei lost almost
