main here in akron. the protests began at 4:00. there's about 100 people here now. now, the dakota access would stretch 100 miles, crossing four states, carrying crude oil from stanley to pitoca illinois. army corps of engineers fast- tracked the project. they're also demonstrating against banks funding the project and companies doing the work. those in favor say it will create jobs and energy independence. but thospo environmental concerns and intrudes upon sacred, native american lands. >> most of my family is native american. and we are from northern california. and i stand with my people. and i stand for water. and i want some drinking water for my children and my grandchildren. and your children and your grandchildren. >> reporter: organizers stress it is a peaceful protest. and so far, it's been just

the sidewalk, not going into the street. and they are getting honks of support from the rush hour traffic driving by. it is supposed to wrap up within the next hour. reporting in akron, carly flynn- morgan, channel 3 news. again, a national protest coming to akron. we've seen videos like this before. a bystander, catches a police officer, shouting commands at a suspect with a gun drawn. but the way this one ends might not be how you'd expect. the gun nerve went off. went off. and the officer is being praised for a job well done. how this officer escaped the situation without harm. yeah. >> brandon schneider captured this video around 7:15 monday night. he post today shortly after that on phase book. the video has since been shared more than 9500 times with thousands of comments. >> it begins like this. a candon police officer tries to get one of three people out of the car.

this raises the question. should the city of cleveland be in the business of airports. >> on our facebook page today, a viewer named mark shapeshared a poignant thought, writing, quote, i think it's time the city lets go of it. and the airport authority goes uncreated. he goes on to say, most big cities with large airports don't own those airports. you may not be aware, but some airports are run by governments like cleveland's, while others are private. learning today that 39% of u.s. airports are run by some form of government, while 35% are run by an airport or port authority. a sign of changing times since at one time, they would have almost all been government-run. but back to mark's point. should cleveland's be? last year, they fined the city, $35,000, claiming it failed to do an adequate job of removing

failure. and that he would have to be lifted for a heart transplant right away. it was very scary. >> but that fear didn't stop jacob's love for space. and in august, he received a heart transplant. >> he surprised me with how adjusted he was. >> it was what einkaufszentrum spired the special wish -- it was what inspired the special wish. to have jocob become cleveland astronaut for the day. >> i really want fod see something like this. i never seen anything like this. >> reporter: he flew to mars, was presented with his own flight suit, shot rockets and finally had a behind the scenes training. >> this is awesome. >> being an astronaut for the day, wasn't the only thing on jacob's mind. working for channel 3 news was, too. i'm jasmine monroe.

the lakeshore. note this cloud cover, though. as this wave comes in, we could kick up a few sprinkleless. you may have -- sprinkles. you may have a few drops. does not look like heavy rain. do not have to drag this to the bus stop. temperatures not too bad. we'll be in the 30s to about 40 degrees. as the day goes on, our high clouds will hang out with us. can that's represented here by the brighter, white color. the high clouds are colder. as we go through the afternoon, i think we'll get a few of the breaks coming and going. we will see a little sun. probably partly cloudy skies by the end of the day tomorrow. and temperatures will fade back into the 40s. now, that, of course, is not where the forecast ends. we'll kind of get you up to date with how things are expected to go tomorrow. putting it in graphic form here. we have a few sprinkles in the morning. 50s for a good part of the day. going to be another mild day. clouds and sun in the afternoon, with partly cloudy

year. he led the indians to the post season for the second time in his four years here. fourth straight winning season. and he did it with a group of guys. think about this. they don't make as much money. and they don't have the star power here in cleveland like they do in a lot of other cities, other teams. so francona, a masterful job. the indians won the central division for the first time in nine years. he had a 14-game winning streak, which really put the indians over the hump to get him in the over 100 days. indians won 94 games. think about this, too. he did it without michael brantly and did it without all the injuries. congratulations, manager of the year. second time he has won the award in four years. so tomorrow, we will find out if indians will have another award. cory cluber. he is up for the sigh young award. that will be announced tomorrow. he's air finalist in the
