the weather department. it's a chilly start this morning. temperatures in the 20s, 23 in mansfield. factor in the winds that feels like 12 degrees in mansfield. so bundle on up before you run out the door. sustained winds junly from the northwest between say 15 to 25 miles per hour. however some of the wind gusts this morning over 30 not as strong as yesterday which actually helped to toel a couple trees and power lines. but still strong enough where you need the windbreakers. most of us most, nice and dry with the exception in parts of stark county you will notice west of kent and west of 77 from lawrence down towards tuscarawas seeing a couple flurries out your way. not expecting any accumulation but if you have friends or family in upstate new york, look at what they are dealing with off lake ontario.

will ujek is live with more on how the stores are looking at this. hi will. >> reporter: good morning guys. experts are saying really this is spreading out. a lot of the millennials prefer a longer christmas -- or holiday shopping season and don't like to go for one specific day. so black friday maybe more of a gray friday. cyber monday spreading out both a little earlier and a little bit later. you probably are seeing this maybe in the inbox and e-mail getting people saying hey, es deals are now or cyber monday deals are going on now. there's no reason for retail to panic because november, december expected to tally 655.8 billion dollars. that's up over 3% from last year according to the national retail federation. men expected to outspend womenduring the first official weekend. and half will be doing online shopping as well. a lot of it coming in so here's a way to stay safe if you are

fan of it too to be honest with you. i mean i enjoy the summer hike heat on friday but you know a couple novelty flakes put up the christmas decorations and it's a chilly start this morning. temperatures in the 20s. bus stop forecast looks like this bundle up the kids before they head out. a couple snowflakes being seen. we will show you where in a second. and if you are thinking to yourself i want to do something completely different, if you head downtown to public square th place with slider from the indians and it starts at 10 this morning. temperatures in the low to mid- 30s. highs today at about 38 degrees. keep in mind the 48 is the normal high. this morning a chilly start. mansfield feels like 12 degrees when you factor in the wind to that 23 degree temperature. 26 in wooster feeling like 15.

i think it's lemon cookie and this recipe takes days to make. so this is just the cookie part of it. this is there's a picture of some of the holiday recipes that we have there. so this is one of the craziest just doe recipes so it is 10 eggs and 2 cups of honey an old recipe but it takes days to make because the frosting on top is just the confectioner's sugar water and lemon juice but then to decorate it it's the cannedied cherries that are red and green and you have to slice them to make them into holly and that's why we start now. we start thanksgiving week to cook all of these and this is just one of the cookies. so i am sure a lot of people have those old family recipes you are more than welcome to

weekend double shooting that killed a woman. it happened on the east side saturday night on east 149th south of lake shore boulevard. the survivors is a -- survivor is a 36-year-old man. he and his girlfriend were getting home and unlocked the door to the house when the shooter opened fire. lewisville teachers starting another week on strike. they have been on strike since november 2nd. community rally set for tonight 6:15 at metzger park the board of education has not started. the teachers say the strike is not about money but language in the contract. a live look quite now outside -- live look right now outside at public square. they are opening up the new ice skating rink later today. they are kicking off the first skate in a big way. our favorite indians mascot slider will be one of the first to take on the ice. that starts at 10 a.m.

is black friday losing its luster? the holiday shopping season is upon us but experts are saying you don't have to limit yourself to one day. >> will ujek joins us live and the holiday shopping season that means so many people start so early now but it takes off this week. >> reporter: yeah and it's a good news for the people that black friday is getting a little bit of a different shade is the lines will be a little bit longer. there's good news for people looking for jobs because there's a lot of retails doing holiday hiring and because the season is getting longer, they kind of meet holiday -- need holiday help so millennials are driving this as they spread shopping around and studies show they like and prefer a longer christmas season. now the good news for retailers is november, december still expected to tally over 650 billion dollars up 3.6% from last year. experts say no need for the retailers to worry. this is the biggest time for them. they need to cash in while they

the protesters. san antonio police released a photo of the person they suspect in the deadly shooting of an officer during a traffic stop yesterday. police say detective benjamin marconi was writing a traffic ticket in the patrol car when the suspect pulled up. the suspect is believed to have gotten out of the car walked up to the passenger window fired twice and fled. marconi was pronounced dead at the hospital. another recall off tonka trucks after one of the toys caught fire in state. take a look at this. grandparents bought the truck from toys r us for their grandson but heading whom they noticed it burst into flames. toys r us issued a apology refund and recall. the company says it appears to be an isolated incident but they are stopping the toy's sale until they find out the cause of the fire. luckily the couple had the toy in the bed of the pickup truck and they were driving home and saw the shooting flames and
