mo >> thanks, don. fill up on this good stuff too. it started as a pickup thanksgiving football game nearly 30 years ago. but now the meadows turkey bowl in medina is breaking records. today it raised $245,000 for families up against unthinkable odds. organizer mike meadows and his wife have raised over a million dollars over the last 30 years. last year some of the money went to a woman who lost organs due bills and food for families that need it. a thanksgiving day tradition for a west side restaurant is back for the first time in six years. for more than 30 years michael's restaurant in rocky river served its customers and those in need a free meal on thanksgiving. they started the tradition as a way to say thank you to the community. but when the economy took a turn, he had to stop doing it. this year with the help of the restaurants new neighbor whole

tradition back. >> the week before or two weeks before the people that were calling you going to do it again, you going to do it again and my heart breaking to say no. so now this year with the help of whole foods and thank god i say open the door. >> they feed about 1,000 people a year. that means over the years they've served more than 30,000 people. if you're looking for something to do for this weekend for the entire family make sure you check out the ice rink at public square. it's open and saturday the cleveland foundation is offering a free skate for anyone that shows up. the rest of the winter festivities are back in public square as well. the season will kick off. it's hosted this year by channel 3's own danielle wiggins. we have a list of the events right now on wkyc.com.

no snow. >> i'm trying to work off some serious turkey right now. and as soon as i put it into my body, and thank you to our bosses who catered in a phenomenal thanksgiving dinner for all of us from barrister's downtown for all of us. it became like this. i'm seriously considering having you roll me over there to do the forecast. >> i can help. >> that's about how it's going to happen. let's take a look at what's going on as far as tomorrow goes. we're tonight. and this is been par for the course for today. we've had a murky afternoon and that will be the case tonight. the visibilities have gone down to as low as 3 miles at times. as we go through the rest of the night from time to time. those visibilities come and go. if you have any overnight shopping plans that take you out and about across northern ohio be advised of that. we have drizzly and springly areas happening and a southwesterly wind. you can see it barely showing up on the radar.

so some wet roads are a possibility. the big picture shows we're not alone in this. there's a lot of showery weather going on across the northern great lakes region. but the air is colder farther to the west. that will trigger a change in northern ohio late tomorrow. we'll go from rain over to snow in some places. with a rain snow mix in others. that will carry us then into saturday. so into the early morning we go. temperatures in the upper 30s. we won't have to deal with any rain s showers mostly paralleling the lake shore. then that's going to be the trend for the day. if you have plans lakeville out towards madison on the lake and shoreline areas you are going to deal with periodic showers throughout the day tomorrow. the rest of us deal with the fog and drizzle we had throughout the day today. once we get into the afternoon

of these rain showers farther south. that will open up more of lake eerie as well. some lake enhanced rain coming in. this is 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. you're starting to see some of the rain snow mix changing to snow showers. we have possibilities for snow on saturday. most of the secondary will be very light, maybe a coating. while the primary areas could be dealing with an inch to m three if this gets persistent. but showers are a good part of the forecast east on saturday with dry weather west and south. so akron down into dover with the dry conditions for saturday afternoon. and saturday night we start to see all of this winding down as we set up for a beautiful sunday. as far as tomorrow goes we will see foggy and damp conditions for a good part of the day with the rain showers arriving changing to a rain snow

nation forecast we stay in the 40s through saturday with the rain snow mix chance continuing. sunday we dry it out. we have quite a few clouds around and monday late day into tuesday we get a big push of heat all the way into the upper 50s. >> cool. >> yeah getting crazy. but that's because a big surge of moisture is coming along as well. so we will have rain to contend with on tuesday. >> thanks betsy. coming up thanksgiving means football for many of you and lots of if to you missed any or all of the nfl games today or you want to see them again we've got you covered. dave has the highlights next.

>> three nfl games today. no andrew lucks for the colts but the steelers had big ben and antonio brown. that's dangerous. the combo connected for three touchdowns. bell had a touchdown, colts had their chances but it got away from them. steelers are now 6-5. redskins the versus the cowboys and the dallas do it again. daq prescott prescott and zeke elliott finally put them away. cowboys win their tenth straight game 31-26 is the final. turkey day in detroit means we get the lions. and those fans, two teams that are battling for the playoffs.

lester holt. good evening. i'm kate snow in for lester on this thanksgiving night. congratulations if you successfully avoided talking politics over the turkey. but there is political news to cover tonight. from his estate in florida this morning, president-elect donald trump tweeted he was working hard this holiday. trump talking about a campaign pledge to save jobs at a plant in indiana. as a top aide tweeted that trump loyalists are warning against mitt ry choice for secretary of state. with cabinet appointments and meetings occupying much of his time, we've learned the president-elect has chosen not to receive daily u.s. intelligence briefings. we have it all covered from mar-a-lago tonight with kristen welker. >> reporter: donald trump celebrating his first thanksgiving as president-elect at his sprawling palm beach estate. eager to show he's not just relaxing, tweeting, trying to get carrier to stay in the company. the company in the

trump target on the campaign trail. carrier confirming they're in conversations, but so far, no announcements. it all coincides with striking revelations, intelligence officials telling nbc news mr. trump has only received two intelligence briefings since the election, far fewer than the daily briefings that are expected. >> by not having daily briefs, he's risking the security of the united states. >> reporter: "the washington post" first noting that mike pence is getting briefed almost every day. the sessions sdiped to give a summary of key security intelligence from all 16 intelligence agencies, as well as the cia's covert operations. during president obama's transition, he requested extra briefings. president george w. bush got into a daily routine after the florida recount. >> there is nothing as important as these briefings for the president of the united states. if he discounts them, then, of course, it's possible there could be ramifications.
