team has not clarified what exactly he's talking about, but it is clear why he's talking. seemingly irritated by an election recount set in motion by the green party presidential candidate, jill stein, in wisconsin. and maybe two more battlegrounds soon. hillary clinton's campaign now joining in, making clear they didn't start the battle, nor do they expect it to change the results. clinton's campaign lawyer tweeting overnight, ""we are getting attacked for participating a we didn't ask for by the man who won election but thinks there was massive fraud." the president-elect trying to use clinton's own words against her. in another tweet, citing this moment from november 9th. >> -- then we must accept this result and then look to the future. >> it is a total and complete hypocritical joke that the group of people that thought that they were nervous about president-elect trump not conceding are the people that are conducting recounts in

meetings here at trump tower today. >> hallie, before you go, go back to this recount situation for a second. first of all, at this moment, what's the likelihood it happens, and what's the likelihood it makes any difference? >> reporter: okay. so let me take that in two parts. likelihood that it happens? listen, recounts, remember, are state by state, not nationally. so in wisconsin right now you have a series of local clerks who are figuring out how much a recount would cost. then if the green party can cover those expenses, which jill stein says she can,he motion. in wisconsin at least the possibility of two other states, maybe pennsylvania and michigan on the way. as far as the likelihood it changes anything, extraordinarily slim. even if something were to slip in wisconsin, you'd still need two other states to flip as well, pennsylvania and michigan for hillary clinton to, for example, take the presidency. again, very, very slim chances. >> also a tight, tight timeline

continuation of this very public battle with scientology. why? >> well, i think it is important. i sat back when you left the church, i wrote my book and i thought i was done. but i was watching what was happening to former members and former high-ranking clergy of the church. i was watching what the church was doing in response. and i just felt i had a responsibility to help out where i could and i'm not a big fan of bullies, so it is part of who i church. this is what they taught me. and so i'm going to continue my fight. but i'm on the right side of that fight now. i just want to send the message that i'm just not going to sit back and allow it to go on. people are talking about their experiences of physical abuse, mental abuse. to it be called a liar, to victimize victims is not okay with me. >> obviously the church denies the allegations. who do you hope sees this? who is this for?

it is for the people who have spoken out, but it is also for people who just maybe don't have the strength to fight, feel they don't have a voice. it doesn't -- i'm getting a thumbs up back there. so it's really -- i just want to give people strength and not just with this organization but with any bully. i just hope that that's what the message is. >> the first episode gets into your story, what happened t you were a member of this church since you were a little girl. >> most of my life. >> what was it like to leave? >> well, it's difficult to leave. but again, i am on tv because i was an actress and i have a lot of support. so for me, it pales in comparison to what former high-ranking executives had to deal with and what parishioners had to deal with, just average, every day scientologists who dedicated their lives, money and

now they're suffering for speaking out. >> i think that's something that a lot of people who hear about this think, i don't understand. like if you're in any other church, you don't want to be in it anymore, you just leave. >> right. well, that's the difference here is that if you speak out, you're labeled an enemy to the church and the church has policies on how to deal with its enemies. and they go after them. it's in their own policies. so they don't know any different, as i did when i was if the church. so i understand this. i because you do become a person who's very hateful and you're very judgmental towards anyone who isn't a scientologist. and a critic of sign tollby is dealt with in a very specific way. and that is unlike a real church. >> the church says it doesn't disconnect families or encourage people -- >> well, they're sly. they are sly in that they are

of disconnection as it's categorized in the press. because if you're not in it your whole life you don't actually know the inner workings of their policies. and their policy is very specific about how you deal with someone who has spoken out about the church of scientology, and there is no option but to disconnect or you will get kicked out of the church. now for members who were in it their whole lives, this is an every day proposition. this is a quarter of a million dollar proposition for the dedication it takes to be a scientologist is a lot. and it's not easy to just walk away. because most people say, why not just get up and leave? well, you're leaving everything you've ever known. you're giving up your whole life because that is what it takes to be a scientologist. then you're going to be losing your family because most of your family and friends are scientologists. >> the church has issued lengthy statements about this documentary.

just everywhere. then -- that was the setting. you walk in and it is patti labelle's house. but i hadn't seen her yet. she just saunters out like a patti labelle gown thing. then she takes the at her own party and she sings at her own party. >> we all like goosebumps. i gave her the gift, patti labelle's the most famous cook. what do i take patti labelle for a gift? i had these boots custom made from this french designer. he makes shoes for lenny kravitz and all these rock stars. i took her these thigh-high boots because she had seen them on me and he made her a custom

labelle's next thanksgiving. as a parting gift she gives you a pie when you leave the house. i was in the car eating the pie. >> because you were in the pie business. >> patty's pie went viral. you worked. >> though it is not work. it is an honor to be part of this holiday tradition. >> yeah. absolutely. >> i mean i grew up watching this. again, as many of us did. i always begged my dad -- >> you were photobombed by spongebob. >> of course my kids have been coming for years. courtney, the oldest, slept in. although she joined us later for dinner. >> lela's hair. is that ombre? >> yes. then we went to dinner at danielle. had a very nice thanksgiving. >> that's a beautiful family. can you believe your kids are this old now?

have obviously somebody who's working. i'll have a college freshman and a high school freshman. >> what will you do with all this time? >> oh, bring it! >> you have time for holiday entertainment. >> nick and i went to see "moana" this weekend which was spectacular. >> what's the story line? >> she's a young girl destined to be chief of her village. and -- but there's an environmental catastrophe going on thatas voiced by dwayne johnson. she goes on a quest to find him and set things right. >> that is so cute. the movie brought in $81 million over the five-day weekend. >> that's the number two top thanksgiving weekend opening, ever. "frozen," $93 million. it didn't get quite there. but obviously this has struck a chord with people. lin-manuel miranda did the music.

actually get into "hamilton." >> the story we were talking earlier, she's obviously in that genre of the disney princess but one that doesn't need a love interest, just goes out -- >> she's doing her own thing. that's the new formula there. there was a study on fact that girls now identify more with the princess saving actually the guy or not needing to be all. my nieces who are 7 and 10 are all about this -- it is not a forced down your throat kind of thing. this is a very natural girl and this is what we do. the next big opening, "star wars" rogue one. did you see the trailer? >> tickets are on sale today. hits theaters december 16th. buy advanced tickets. >> go online, buy your ticket

this is kind of back to his roots, in a way. i would call this front-runner to win best picture oscar. the other movie is "fences." this is the movie adaptation of another play. viola davis and denzel washington. give her viola davis the best supporting actress now. >> i saw denzel's perform broadway. just unbelievable. >> both of them are incredible. denzel directed it, too, by the way. >> my list is very unusual, i think. i saw "nocturnal animals." it is super dark. it's emotional roller coaster. it is all kinds of levels of not holiday but it is so amazing. it's -- my heart was pounding. jake gyllenhaal, phenomenal.

but how you temper this -- every night leading up to christmas i watch "love actually." it's been a ritual. i put it in. i'll pause it. i don't watch the whole film. i just watch it in increments. >> never seen it. >> i can't live like this. >> best christmas movie ever! >> you have to go a long way to top "elf." >> i don't think so. but i will watch opening scene of "love actually," you are at the airport and it reminds you of that moment when you are greeting a loved one. >> we didn't fly. up next, just like the movie, all roads lead to forrest gump? i don't even know what that means. and you never know what you're going to get when tom hanks recreates his famous scene. we'll show you what happens with tom as i guess a flashback. few months we found out she's been diagnosed with stage 4 hotchkins lymphoma. so it is sad -- but -- but, through it all it's become very inspiring. her spirit, her fire is crazy. her joy. she's lost her hair through the chemo, but she's in the 85 percentile of beating it. my mother has multiple sclerosis. now with "bounce back" big i've partnered with children's miracle network hospitals so we are raising money and awareness to help her and her bills and her treatment but we're aware of millions of other kids so i'm going around the country to different hospitals meeting these kids, giving them the hugs, giving them the pound and letting them know that me and the children's miracle network are going to raise money so that they make it to see another day. >> it is a movement.
