we agreed to work the crash in conjunction with each other. i immediately called the district attorney and made her aware of the crash and how the crash was being investigated. >> reporter: this crash happened on russ avenue. no one has been charged. the wreck is still under investigation. coming up at six, hear how the family of the couple . >> tammy: we have new information tonight on the investigation. >> larry: police say they're looking for trey bradley. a week after, there's still no sign of him. >> tammy: hope, the family is still concerned. >> hope: that's right.

paint a picture of what happened and may have caused it. >> my brother-in-law and his two grandkids were getting ready to walk out of the door. the shooting happened. one of the bullets went through the door where they were at. the other one went through the bedroom. three or four of them went through cars. >> hope: he read reports of a drive-by shooting on 7th avenue west. >> to see it and see it be my mother's house was shocking and alarming. i went home, looked at the door, went through the door, looked through the picture frame. this is crazy, they didn't even take it. >> hope: police did not officially release the suspects.

>> they dated. they have my little nephew. and it's been an on and off relationship. they're not together now. i think the reason why this disagreement. he got angry. after he got angry, he didn't know what to do with his anger, he picked up the gun, stole my mother's car, and drove and shot up my mother's house. >> hope: questions more an a week after the shots were fired. >> where is this guy? where is he in the community? why haven't the police found this guy? >> hope: police i spoke with say some of the family does not want to charge gradually in the incident. they s if the family refuses, he likely will not face any charges. but william brian say he and his mother want to bring the shooter to justice. larry.

>> larry: continuing coverage on the shooting in chicago. abc's alex perez reports, police say her death was an accident. >> reporter: this morning, the families of betty jones and college student quinntonnio are demanding answers. >> why you got to shoot? >> reporter: jones and le grier killed saturday after police were called to this home for a domestic disturbance. >> shots fired by police, just to confirm. >> yes, they were. they were. >> reporter: threatening his father with a bat. jones was opening the door for police when she was caught in a spray of police bullets. >> upon their arrival, they were confronted by combative individual. >> reporter: chicago police saying jones was accidentally killed and extending condolences.

a video of the shooting captured by surveillance camera provoked outrage. it also made rice a central figure in a protest movement over the police killings. >> tammy: honoring a deputy on their facebook page who died three years ago. shane thomas died from complications stemming from a training accident. he had undergone extensive treatment and therapy. a north carolina woman has been charged with child abuse after her infant son was found dead on christmas eve. the lincoln county sheriff's office says the infant's father called 911. he says he came home to find his six month old son unresponsive, nude and alone on the living room sofa. >> larry: lawmakers voted to end the one child policy and couples

are now allowed to have two children. now the reason is china's aging population. the government says in just 15 years, china will be home to more than 1500 million people over the age of 60. there are concerns there weren't be enough young people to support them. presidential candidate donald trump is stepping up. trump threatened to dig up bill clinton's old scandals if he campaigns for her. he tweeted this morning. some analysts believe they're not likely to hurt him, at least for now. >> tammy: officials say their car got lodged about 150 feet down stream in a creek. after a firefighter arrived on

frank fraboni joins us with ask 13. frank, we're talking small doors. >> frank: tammy, you're right. yes, they're tiny little doors in downtown asheville and they are largely a mystery. the question comes from our very own hope hanselman. there's a brick building in downtown asheville between lexington and broadway. at the base of the sidewalk, there are teeny, tiny doors. i have always wondered why they're there. hope isn't the only one who has asked us. they measure from about a foot to a foot and a half tall. there's about three or four of them there. they've become quite popular. you can find pictures of them on facebook, pinterest and other social media. >> well i think they're just somebody's fun idea of a

whimsical public art demonstration. i don't know specifically who put them up but they do seem to have grown over the past couple of years. >> frank: public art. of course there are others who believe maybe tinkerbell and a number of her fairy friends moved in to the neighborhood. unfortunately we were unable to get anyone to the door. they're the funky scene that makes up the asheville vibe. cute little doors, tammy, larry. >> larry: frank, they wouldn't talk to him. >> tammy: not opening the door. >> larry: we've been joking about elves. it's that time of the year. imaginations running wild, jason. >> jason: and rivers running wild. we don't need anymore rain but that's what we're going to get.

here's our leicester carpet sales news13 sky cam network outside franklin and maconcounty. the rain now moving. look at how heavy these clouds look. this is something you see in spring time. here we are, late december. and it is very unstable. thankfully not the severe weather threat here as they've seen in mississippi and texas. we not only have flood watches out through thursday, we have wind advisories through tuesday. we're already seeing those winds really whip across those lower elevations as well. shower activity back to the west of us. it's going to come some time around sunset. already starting to approach chattanooga, and moving through there. once we get past midnight, we'll start to see the action wind down. tomorrow, slim chance of any additional rain.

wet scenario. although southern soaker on wednesday. rain chance is very high. could see half an inch to an inch. no chance of rain new year's eve. virtually none. new year's day, zero. saturday zero. timing out perfectly. 66 degrees. rain. light rain in the asheville airport. south-southeast wind. humidity pretty high. dew point really high. dew point in the 60s. that's just unbelievable for this time of year. here comes that warm surge of air. it goes north. we'll get a little bit cooler tonight but then right back in to that south-southeast flow on wednesday. here comes the next system from the gulf dragging moisture. it's just something we do not

we'll have those flood watches out through then. moving east. in the morning, maybe a few lingering showers east of i-26. then we'll see sunshine in the earlier afternoon. we could hit 70 degrees. then wednesday by morning and afternoon we got the rain coming through again and they may linger through much of the day. rainfall additional amounts up to an inch in asheville. very top end. you could see up to an inch and a half down there through cherokee county. 50s and 60s for lows tonight. back in to the upper 60s and 70s farther south. your seven day forecast, it is a reality check because we get back to winter. by new year's day, 45. saturday and sunday night. it is going to feel mighty cold. but no snow.
