you everything you need to know about the next system coming our way. >> jason: we're talking flood watches already in effect. these go in to 7 o'clock tomorrow morning for the areas asheville, buncombe county, southward including all of north georgia, charlotte down to southeast columbia. not everywhere but certainly more south. most of that is going to come hours. now we have our river issues. we have the blantyre area already over flood stage. going to 19 feet which puts it right at moderate flood stage tomorrow morning. and then dropping slowly tomorrow afternoon. 16 feet by the time we get in to thursday. it's going to be a long time before the flooding recedes.

but the rain is going to come south and interact with the moisture. 60s and 70s for highs today. it was a record setter in greer at 72. i'll show you all the rain and how much to expect in your location. coming up. >> tammy: the asheville area is still scrambling to clean up what last night's storms are left behind. >> larry: officials are telling residents to be ready. >> tammy: news 13's ashlea surles joins us live in biltmore village. ashlea, the clean up there continues through the night. >> ashlea: that's right. all day today driving through biltmore village, you can see fleming trucks parked outside of businesses as folks scramble to get ready with this next batch of rain on its way. last night, feet of water poured in to the streets. all day city crews as well as business owners have been

this as holiday crowds packed the sidewalks. officials say they're scrambling because they know what doesn't get cleaned up now will add on the next hours. >> i advise people who have curbs, make sure the leaves are out. make sure the drains are open. we open as many as we can. >> ashlea: in one riceville community today, high waters leaving 100 people largely cut off from emergency services. going in to more rains, of tonight. officials told me today that beyond the flooding they're really worried about downed trees. they say the ground is wet right now with heavy winds, that could become a problem. >> larry: these flood waters have forced some people from

>> tammy: news 13's john ostendorf. >> john: it was a harrowing night for families who had to leave their homes with nothing but the clothes on their back. six trailers south of cullowhee had to be evacuated. no one was injured but residents got little warning. >> not a warning or anything. just right when it happened, we got up. i put on my shoes and put on my jacket. it was already starting to come up half way. >> john: he spent hours watching the river with his neighbors and waiting. came back to the home and collected much needed items. the river was already high and duke energy had to release water from the dan at glenville lake.

but the level of flooding was a surprise. reporting live in jackson county, john ostendorf, news 13. >> tammy: our team coverage continues in transylvania county where more people were forced from their homes in to emergency shelter. rosemund was pounded with water. the red cross set up an emergency shelter at transylvania parks and recreation. a volunteer says they can provide food and medical help if needed. >> most of them just are shocked. they didn't realize that it was going to be as bad as it was last night. so they're trying to recover to make their plans for recovery. and that's what red cross also does. we help them on their recovery plans. >> tammy: the shelter is now closed down but could be reopened if this next round of rain causes any problems.

biltmore estate claims the way biltmore bride, prom, and tux uses the name on its website and advertisements is an infringement on the trademark biltmore name. the estate also claims the retailer is attempting to use biltmore's reputation in the wedding industry. store owners are surprised by the complaint. >> they don't sell bridal dresses. so i don't understand what the confusion is about. i really don't. >> tammy: denise knapp tells us they've used the name for years and it's never been an issue until last month. >> larry: we are once again taking a look back at some of our most memorable persons of the week. this one comes from a local grocery store where a man came face-to-face with death. the person who saved his life. >> i was helping a lady find

you're news 13 skywatch weather. >> jason: we've seen the power of water, folks. it can move boulders, houses and even cars. it's a serious situation when flash flooding is involved. you add all these days up, we've had rain every day, , least measurable rain. it comes to 5.7 inches in asheville. there are places that have doubled that. the ground is justt saturated. anything that falls is mostly going to be runoff. 90% chance of rain tomorrow. unfortunately, yes, it's high. the amounts will be much less. that's the thinking right now. half an inch or less in asheville. we'll see how that rainfall potential drop-off significantly. no rain chances in to the new year and for several days.

dew point, 51 degrees. it's not as warm as it was. 64 degrees. the moisture is certainly farther south. look at these current temperatures. we're thinking about rain and the cooldown in to the new year. cold air to the north of us trying to nudge down. it's having a hard time doing it. the cold front actually to the west. and then the cold front will slowly try to make its way in over time. the cold air will come in to the new year. here's that frontal boundary we'll watch it closely wobbling about. once the cold front becomes more prominent, it moves through to dry us out. that's later in the day tomorrow in to thursday. but it doesn't go very far to the south.

gulf coast in to central georgia and south carolina as well, will have the potential for more rain even in to the new year. some of that is going to be in the form of clouds for us. here's the future cast. in the morning, spotty showers developing south. looks like it will spread much of the area in the afternoon. periods of rain. not a constant soaking heavy rainfall. it starts to scoot out after sunset. the next rainfall is not likely to come for a while. that's good news. the rpm model up until 6 o'clock in the evening. half inch plus in areas over the upstate. but another model is thinking much more for the upstate. putting down a good swath of maybe one tops, two inches of rain in greenville, spartanburg, gaffney gaffney. the thinking is less for us in
