>> welcome back. 12:30. this is a live picture of traffic. showing jeff bowen bridge. a good amount of cars but everything seems to be moving smoothly. >> definitely better than it was this morning. we have serious downpours earlier. seeing the rain in some portion of the regegn in greenville, 63 degrees, the rain drops falling lightly on the camera lens. another shot to share with you. this is 56 degrees. we see the fog and rain to start the day and clouds through early afternoon.

rain. much more, some locations close to two inches. coming up, i'll talk more about our afternoon outlook. some flash flood warnings and how cold we turn. back over to you. >> officials are staying on top of the rain and flood threat. crews have been getting ready for quite some time. >> they are ready for today's event as well. there is a truck actually trailing behind it. they have their boats ready to go for any of the 32eding events events. roughly two inches of rein has fallen in a 48-hour period. it is actually the high water and downed trees. the rescue team has staff ready in case anyone is faekd in flooding events. no one has needed mrmg rescue during the past week events.

for crews to stay on alert. >> we haven't been able to gear down this winter. it has been one significant storm after another. our teams are ready. they are well practiced. and we are prepared for the flooding event. >> now crews and officials are, of course, keeping their eye on the radar and any of the rain events. the good news is the high water is expected to recede as the rain diminishes, leading us into our new year's day. it is going to continue to remain dry in the upcoming weekend. at least 13 states being affected by record flooding. in missouri, the governor activated the national guard. elizabeth herr reports from st. louis. >> even though the rainfall has stopped, lives in missouri are still swollen and rising. the mighty mississippi river has

residents have been evacuate and others say they haven't seen a flooding like this in more than 20 years. >> back in 93, we had a week's notice it was going to get bad. this time it popped up in two days. >> throughout the show me state, nearly 600 roads and highways are closed, entire neighborhoods cut off. in union, this mcdonald's surrounded by floodwaters almost to its roof and this gas station nearly submerged. similar sights, businesses and homes under water. >> some store owners tried to save whatever they could but they were no match for the rising waters. >> now a new concern, this water plant in high ridge has stopped operating. it is now spilling raw sewage into trees.

where the rivers have been crested yet. in austin, the river is expected to crest today, 17 feet above flood stage. officials say several rivers will reach their highest level in decades. missouri's governor has called in the national guard. >> you have nine feet of water. be safe out there. >> here at home, many of us back under flood watches. how much rain can we expect? >> let's look at the radar, we can expect more rain especially down into the upstate and some light rain accumulations for the rest of the afternoonafternoon. the heaviest rain bands started to pull out of our viewing area.

still impacting the rain, starting to see light rain pull away from our region, for the next hour or so. continuing to see the rain. it looks like lawrence could see the heavy rain as well, further south into greenwood. keep that in mind, those zones are the trouble areas. the flash flood warning still out. this goes until 3:30 for franklin, heart, anderson, greenwood, greenville county. high rivers possible in rutherford so a flood warning out for those zones and a flood watch is out for everyone here in our southern mountains and down to the upstate through tomorrow morning. french broad, still flooded, still rising slightly through th evening.

rain leaves our region. down to the upstate, those about to head out the door, keep that in mind. 50's in western north carolina and 60's further south. looked for the time lapse, some showers across the region with cloudy conditions through dinner time. the southern zones will see that threat especially overnight even into tomorrow morning. and starting to see these clouds break up a bit through the day tomorrow and then they'll filter back in for friday. it looks like we are almost out of the woods through today with just a slight chance for rain for the first part of tomorrow. for today, 63 degrees. a few storms. wlos.com. we update you. there is a flash flood warning out for your area. we will have that. still cloudy, 48 degrees tonight, heavy at times. today in greenville in the w w of rain with that flooding threat, still 50's tonight. sunny tomorrow.

i like mango pancakes. >> barbara likes pancakes. i'm making them with a maple topping. in the mixing bowl, i have all purpose flour, baking soda, a tablespoon of sugar and salt. mix that together. then i have 1/2 cups of mango pees. i pureeed, egg, a little bit of lemon juice. a quarter cup of milk. in a food processor and blender. we'll put that into the dry of the pancacake batter. to make the batter. i have the griddle preheating to 350 degrees.

fold the flour into the mangoes. then once all the flour gets moistened, it will still be lumpy, that's good. >> i have a half cup of diced mango, in chunks. we'll fold these in. these are mango pancakes. fold them in like that. you see the flour, keep folding. that looks good. >> you barely mix. >> the griddle is preheated to 350. you can use a non stick spray if you like, i'm a butter guy. always have been. but we'll put butter on there. we'll put the pancake batter on
