commerce. organizers say this year's career fair is the largest one yet. it runs until 4:00 today at the davis event center. evan donovan will be live from the career fair and will have much more coming up tonight at 5:00. >> a damage assessment team from the state emergency management will be in may con county, they will be touring the damage from the nooding two weeks ago. that will determine if the state will provide any money to help with the recovery. the damage involving homes, roads and bridges is estimated to be more than $700,000. if money becomes available, county leaders say they will led those affected know how to apply. >> classes resume for students at a school in buncombe county that was damaged after a mud slide. fourth through eighth graders returned to the charter school. it comes one day after the owner of a restaurant donated 40% of the day's sales to help the school.

this is one location where we are seeing a decent amount of cloud cover. it is 49 degrees, the news 13 skycam network cast a big shadow on that building. one location seeing lots of sunshine down into the upstate. this is paris mountain where it is the upper 40's. yes, really nice afternoon for us. radar and satellite does show we have seen the clouds throughout the day, a threat for rain does come starting tonight. we haven't seen much in the way of rain over the last week because we had plenty of it in the month of december. our chances are going back up. starting off this morning, chilly at 25 degree. that was much better than the previous a couple of mornings when we were in the teens. this is the area where we saw how warm we have been, already above normal by 2 degrees in asheville. 24 hour temperature change in the case.

yesterday at this time. outside. anywhere from 13 to 16 degrees above what we were yesterday. right now, current conditions in asheville, just under that 50 degree mark, but 10 degrees cooler in our northern zones. franklin, 49. 51 degrees into andrews. 52 in greenville. low 50's in anderson and into greenwood. the winds are light in asheville so that's not an issue. pretty light in the upstate, 5 in greer and picking up a bit out of the north in greenwood at 9 miles an hour. mild conditions, that's the headline for now as we still have lots of sunshine in the new locations. we are showing partly cloudy skies, watch as these clouds begin to thicken up. we see a few showers overnight. a chance for rain although it is

maybe a stray shower or two into saturday. this is going to be the day when we see more rain. throughout the afternoon and into the eveningevening. how much rain we talking about? thankly it won't be a ton. looking towards saturday, this is showing a tenth of an inch to a half an inch plus. into the foothills and down into the upstate as well. back up to 60 on saturday. we'll bring it pack down slightly on sunday. something else that will happen on sunday is our temperatures will continue to go down. back here today, 52 degrees, clouds increasing late day. the rain chances go up tonight, temperatures staying in the upper 30's. 50's in greenville today and tonight, cooling down to 40 degrees. what about the rest of the forecast? it shows scatter showers.
