news? >> rex: they are thrilled to be back in business. the owner here says actually being back in operation will actually help track avian flu. mike keggel is anxious. in mid august, the state of north carolina banned poultry sales. >> as a cautionary procedure, i guess. north carolina department of agriculture decided it was in the best interest of the commercial poultry business to shut down the trade and travel of backyard poultry. it could happen but it didn't happen. their reason was a migratory pattern of the water fowl. >> rex: the state is now giving

rex hodge, news 13. >> frank: a new program could reward people who report suspicious activity related to wild life poaching. it's called the turn in poachers program and encourages people. poaching includes the illegal taking of fish, game, plants. rewards range from $100 . >> president obama has vetoed legislation that would have repealed the affordable care act. the bill will now go back to the republican led congress, which does not have the votes to override the president's veto. the legislation would have also cut federal funding for planned parenthood. >> frank: two iraqi refugees are

there's word the two suspects are connected. law enforcement says the two men, one in texas, the other in california, communicated with each other. federal agents arrested 24-year-old omar in houston yesterday. the 23-year-old was arrested in sacramento. >> anchor: emanuel luchman is charged with attempting to provide material support to the terrorist group. the 25-year-old planned to kill people who were celebrating new year's eve in an upstate new york bar and restaurant. >> frank: we have an update now on an earlier wreck reported in jackson county. >> anchor: all lanes on 2374 are all back open, jaclyn? >> jaclyn: ashlea, all lanes

added more than two and half million jobs. it was the second best year for job gains since 1999. americans saw their paychecks go up as well. it matched the gains in october which were the best in six years. >> ashlea: a recall alert tonight. wegman's grocery store has recalled more than 1,000 pounds of chicken products. the recall affects products sent to maryland, massachusetts, pennsylvania, virginia. we lucked out. good news, no reports of anyone becoming sick so far. >> frank: here comes the weekend with the rain. >> ashlea: i know, there's supposed to be snow but i guess there's rain. >> jason: 49 degrees for the high temperature today. that put us a few degrees above average. a little deceiving because we

we get back in to the cold, folks. sunday could mix that snow in. asheville's forecast isn't calling for any real accumulation for the snow. but if you're closer to the tennessee border, i believe it's going to get on the white side for you by late day sunday. we're back to colder weather in the middle of the week. that means a little bit of snow, too, on tuesday. nothing major but enough to slicken some of those roads up. south-southeast wind at 6 in asheville. humidity is 96% in greenville. that is pretty much a saturated environment. 46 right now for the air temperature. we're in between systems. one, passing to the north. the next one, the westnd south. it's late in the day tomorrow most of the rain begins to fall that saturday evening around 6 o'clock. as we go in to sunday evening, that front is well to the east of us.

meaning the pressure lowers dramatically. that's going to push wind and cold our way. along with that wind from the northwest, you get it over the mountains and it means it's going to be rung out as some snow. snow showers more likely near and along the tennessee border later in the weekend. future cast tonight. look at this line here. right about asheville east ward. that's where the clouds will be thickest. the fog, too. showers late in the day, 6 o'clock in the evening. they'll spread east ward. overnight looks wet. we'll get a little dryer before that round of cold settles in. rainfall amounts, a quarter inch to tops i think a half inch will do it in terms of total rainfall saturday in to early sunday. look for highs tomorrow to only reach the upper 40s to low 50s. it's going to be chilly in the foothills.
