>> jason: let's start you out with a beautiful scene here in swain county. our latest leicester carpet sales news13 sky cam network. we're adding bryson city to the list now. thanks to the chamber of commerce down there for this. beautiful scene as we look towards the smokys. it's pretty active now in to the west. we didn't have much yesterday but do we ever have a big storm coming now. some of this is going to ripple east ward and give us a shot of rain come friday. an area of low pressure will develop along the coast as well. that's one of two areas of low pressure that will develop along the gulf coast. one brings weather. the other could bring some snowfall. no chance for anything tomorrow. it's dry. wow do we see that chance increase quickly. showers off and on much of the day. 40% of any of that lingering moisture in asheville as rain

then we get in to the chances of wintery mix rain and snow. 50/50 shot of it in to the sunday frame. 41 degrees right now. but do we ever still have that wind biting. drops our wind chill to 34 degrees for the feels like temp. the air is very dry today. 47 in the upstate with a south-southwesterly wind. that's already a sign of change. we're going to get those south-southwesterly winds to blow here. they saw 50s in the upstate today. everybody does pretty much across the area. high pressure goes off the coast. we start to see the wind switch from the south to southwest. it's going to help draw in moisture as this area of low pressure works off the gulf of mexico. decent amounts of rain on friday. some of this may end up in light snow in the highest elevations, in the balsams.

southwest ward to the gulf. another low pressure system could possibly get cold air in place along with that we could get some snow. we've ticked up a little bit on the flake-o-meter there. hold your breath. we'll just watch it closely. here's your future cast. the winds will be the biggest story this evening. clear skies area wide tonight. watch out for frost in the morning on those windshields. clouds on friday morning. watch the rain appear. by friday afternoon, there it is, spreading all across the area. lows tonight, teens and 20s across the mountain valleys. it's going to be cold again. look at the nice change tomorrow. mid 50s to even upper 50s and 60s as you get in the upstate. there goes our change again. 45 saturday with rain early. we get in to the chances of that

warrants showed mac mahan with a knife. in october, warrants show deputies arrested him for possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. several people live at the home. while there were cars in the drive, no one answered the door. neighbors who live right next door to the house were afraid to talk on camera. but they say they live in fear of the residents here. a lot of activity at night. we spoke by phone with a man who owns property across the street. he had this reaction to the stabbing. >> it doesn't surprise me at all. based off what i've seen going in and out over there. it's just a bad element over there all the time. >> those things happen sadly. but thankfully nobody was

>> darcel: it's a trip to the emergency room one woman will never forget. >> tammy: the visit led to a diagnose that she says is nothing short of a miracle. >> reporter: just a few months ago at their gallery where these two sisters work, jamie smith says she was in terrible pain. >> i was at work and my back hurt so bad. i was laying on the floor in the office. i told my husband the next day, i said i have to go to the emergency room. >> reporter: she said she made a couple of visits to the emergency department before where they gave her an injection for pain.
