about driving in winter weather. >> tammy: good afternoon, everyone. winter is in the air this evening. meteorologist zack green joins us. >> zack: the advisory is going to be in effect from noon until sunday. this advisory map is actually many mountain locations. a lot of counties go from buncombe up towards avery. west of i-26 and south of i-40. that's where i do think the heavier accumulation is going to be seen. we want to show you where this is all going to be stemming from. as we make our way further to the west. there's an area of low pressure wrapping in moisture from the gulf of mexico. quiet for the moment but things

as we make our way to tomorrow. the future cast is going to show us that the clouds are going to be increasing. take a look at midnight. it's just overcast conditions. keeping things more so on the quiet side. initially that snow is going to be melting as it hits the surface. we could see an inch, up to two in mountain locations. the higher elevations, that's where the snow is going to be heaviest. the mountain valleys expecting to exceed that one inch mark. your complete skywatch forecast, it's going to be coming up in a little bit. >> tammy: as zack told us, winter weather in the form of snow. news 13's justin hinton is live from ace hardware on merrimon avenue.

black ice this morning. >> justin: that's right. with those wintery weather conditions in store for the overnight hours, there could be some slick roads that are out there tomorrow morning. black ice was on the road this morning. it included two wrecks. the car flipped and hit a house before landing upside down. no one was hurt, though. now another car flipped on brevard road. slick roads were to blame. one driver said it was all just really unexpected. >> it was a shock. i came out of biltmore park. didn't have any ice until i came around that corner. and then it was just a solid ice. >> be careful. a lot of wrecks in buncombe county. >> justin: here in buncombe county, folks could see an inch of snow in those early morning

how much s now your news 13 skywatch weather. >> zack: not a whole lot to be complaining about today. some few icy conditions in the early morning but then the sunshine came out. folks were sitting outside. and you see in the links, you see in the few frames of the leicester carpet sales news13 sky cam network. and yes, you see that cloud cover rolling through across the mountains today. and we're going to continue to increase as we make our way toward the overnight hours. mid upper 40s for many in western north carolina. slightly cooler as you make your way a little to the north. take a look at the upstate. a lot of sunshine on the way as well. but it was a bit of a breeze rolling through. all ahead of a cold front that's going to bring us. there's a little bit of snow. that's certainly a topic of

because we have a winter weather advisory from 2:00 a.m. until noon tomorrow for many of those in western north carolina. avery all the way down right along the north carolina and tennessee border. graham, clay, macon involved. buncombe as well. up wards of about an inch or so in higher elevations about 3500 feet, there's an advisory. the system that we're following is a little bit further off to the west. it was originally actually in central texas. you see it moving right along that gulf coast. it's going to continue to pick up that moisture content and spin it for a broad band coming our direction. we have that one system far off to our southwest for the moment. it is impending. as we dive a cold front down, we're going to be dragging down

some snow showers in the early morning tomorrow. i think this is going to be a quick system. as i said, an inch, possibly two. but the impacts are going to be minimal. take a look at these temperatures as well. upper 20s and low 30s for the mountains. what does that mean? as it makes contact, the snow, with the surface. initially it is going to melt. there's that broad band. you see it right along the counties where that advisory is in effect. take a look at what happened. we're going to go from 6:00 a.m. to about lunch hour tomorrow. we're already looking at clear conditions by midday on sunday. i think we're going to continue with that trend as we finish up the day. chilly temperatures on the way. i think it's a very small window in. we're going to start to see our off. there you go right there. one, possibly maybe two and a

not a whole lot to be speaking of. advisory extending only until about by monday and tuesday, we're going to be back down below the freezing point for our afternoon highs. take a look at those temperatures. we're talking the low teens. we're going to try and rebound those temperatures by wednesday. could potentially be just a little more hard hitting. i think everybody's real focus is going to be on tomorrow morning. yeah, i think we could see a dusting on the roadways. here's the good news. we saw the impact from the black ice this morning. don't think that's going be the case tomorrow because there's already frozen precipitation. we're hoping it still remains
