11:17 pm
throughout the course of the day we've seen some breezy conditions. some slick and icy roadways. snow is returning to the forecast and a winter weather advisory is going to be put in to effect until 2:00 a.m. until about noon time. that's when things are going to start breaking up. there's a very small window in terms of when this snow returns. you see this band return to the mountains. i do think there is going to be some cloud cover and maybe just a little bit of rain. not a whole lot of snow for the precipitation. but when you see the purple popping up on the screen, that's where the impact is going to be. i think it's for the morning hours. we do want to take our time on the roadways. right now. take a look at the left hand side of your screen.
11:18 pm
as we broaden this out for you now, there is the system as a whole. we've been tracking the same even from early on. it's progressed to the east and fuelled the fire with some of that gulf of mexico moisture. now there's two air masses that are actually going to be converging at the same time. there's that area of low pressure bringing in the precipitation. then you see this cold front. that's actually going to dive further to the south and east toward the mountains. when those two actually converge, that's when we're going to facilitate some of the snow showers. again, we're going to start seeing flakes in the overnight hours. i want us to notice the temperatures on this map. we're going to keep things right around the freezing point. maybe just a few degrees below that. when the first flakes do come in to the mountains, i think initially things are going to be melting. with the chilly temperatures going through the morning hours as you're heading out to your
11:19 pm
of the slick stops, actually refreezing of some of the snow in the overnight hours. temperatures are going to continue to gradually warm up. but about 8-9 o'clock is when the snow will be seen. clear conditions on the back side of that system. that's going to be the next topic of conversation. we're talking about very chilly temperatures to kick off the start of our work week. i think the majority of the region could see around about an inch of accumulation. higher elevation could see upwards of two inches. again, this is going to be a very fast, very quick moving system going off to the east. i do think we're going to see whatever dusting there leaving as we bring in sunshine to the next work week. take a look at the temperature drop. afternoon highs. many areas falling shy of the freezing point monday and tuesday afternoon. overnight lows we're actually
11:20 pm
area wide. by the middle of the week, we're going to try to rebound those temperatures. thursday and friday, another system is going to be rolling in. that's our next chance for rain and snow. again, i don't think it's going to be a whole lot in terms of impact. we are also going to be seeing
