>> the mountains got their good first taste of winter. many of us woke up to a light dusting of snow, making driving conditions slick. crews treated the primary roads to keep drivers safe. this is video from the overlook along future i-26 in madison county earlier this morning. ingrid, the snow is not the real problem, it is the wind and subfreezing temperatures. >> you saw marchers, they were bundled up from head to toe. smart on their part because it is so cold outside. 15 degrees at mount mitchell state park. hs just a beautiful shot. if you didn't get snow at your house, look at the screen and imagine this is the view from the deck. lester carpet sales news 13 skycam network. we did pick up a light dusting, mainly along the tennessee border counties. even in buncombe, a lot of us saw another light dusting. it was so windy, it didn't stick to a lot of roadways. this could be another issue tomorrow morning.

some of those areas are still going to be in the shade throughout the day. almanac shows we have stayed steady, 1.7 inches. we'll continue to see our chances for precip go up. something not going up is our temperature. look at this, low temperatures this morning, 18 degrees. feeling less colder than that. and especially compared to yesterday at this time, this is our 24 hour temperature change. 15 degrees colder than 24 hours ago. in asheville, 15 in bryson city, 8 down into greer. windchill advisory, it expired at noon. now they put another one out starting at 6:00 this evening, going until noon on tuesday. it could feel like 20 below zero. some locations above 3500 feet, not in the valleys of course. all these counties shaded in blue under that advisory from graham county to may con, jackson, haywood, madison, avery, parts of mcdowell and even buncombe county as well.

asheville is 21 degrees. 31 down into greenville. here's the wind, 20 miles an hour in asheville. 18 up in boon. 12 in forest city. 12 also in anderson. 13 in greenwood. here's that dreaded windchill map today, 6 is what it feels like in buncombe county. feels like 13 in burnsville. still feels below freezing in anderson and down into greenwood. 2:00 p.m., still feeling like the single digits in the northern counties. 3 is what it feels like by dinner time here in asheville. it will feel like 5 in silva,buryson will feel like zero tomorrow morning. could feel as cold as 13 below zero tomorrow morning in burnsville. if you have to go outside early tomorrow and, of course, school is back for a lot of kids, make sure they are bundled up at the bus stop. satellite and radar does show mostly clear conditions. for now, chilly. that will be the headline today.

deaths of three people. officials say the bodies of two men were found inside a home. officers say no guns were involved but they did find a knife at the scene that could be a clue as to what happened. >> with some of the information that was located at the scene gives us some preliminary information that we can say that one of the individuals may have been the perpetrator. again, it is still too early to say. >> all were current or former students. police plan to release more information later this afternoon. >> police arrest a suspect who caused a three hour lockdown at the pennsylvania state university. a penn state news site said the suspect is a father who threatened to hurt his two children who are students there. he was arrested away from campus. he was reportedly not in the area wn he made that threat.
