3 200 trucks and 300 workers are coming in from power companies in florida to help duke energy during the storm. jeff brooks, with duke energy, says it does not take much ice to weight down tree limbs. just a half inch of ice can bring a power line down. duke says people need to be prepared for outages that could last days. 3 jeff brooks - duke energy - spokes person 11:50:11 this is a scenario where you could see your power out for more than a day. the last storms last year we saw two and three day outages for some of our customers. if you lose power during the storm... call duke energy to report the outage at "1-800-poweron." that's 1-800-769-3766. 3 3 in the upstate, greenville county emergency crews are on standby this morning as the storm moves in. they are warning people to stay off the roads. 3 3 the n-c-dot and highway patrol are now implementing the "quick clearance law"

means the dot's i-map trucks will move abandoned vehicles to the shoulder when possible. troopers and local law enforcement will also work with towing companies to have vehicles removed. if your vehicle gets towed... you can find it by going to the north carolina department of public safety's website. we have also put the search under "news 3 3 if you are planning to fly out of asheville or charlotte, you should check with your airline for delays or cancellations. american airlines canceled all flights out of asheville and charlotte for today. all southwest, lufthansa, jetblue and air canada flights are canceled for today as well in charlotte.. united and delta plan to run on limited operations this afternoon. asheville regional airport says it is prepared... with crews willing to work around the clock to make sure runways are clear.
