sheriff's investigators are actively investigating this case. it happened in this apartment complex. as you mentioned, two men broke in the back of the complex. a wife began screaming immediately for her husband's help. sheriff's deputies ascended on the area, including bloodhounds looking for a scent. the two males seen fleeing on surveillance cameras broke in to the apartment. this dark colored old modern saturn dropped the suspects off. police surrounded the complex but the suspects were gone. the camera that caught the two suspects on the surveillance video is right on down the back porch. this is the camera right here that caught a glimpse of at least one of the suspects. the pictures unfortunately only show the men fleeing from behind.

the other possibly in jeans. victim tom johnson the second suspect pulled a gun on tom. pointing it to the ceiling and bumrushed both suspects out of the apartment. we saw an officer in the backyard of this house. >> i was having lunch and someone knocked at the door. >> kim: that someone for richie games turned out to be the police. they asked if he knew what had been going on. >> i knew something happened but i didn't know what happened. >> kim: the police then asked to come in with two more officers. >> gun drawn. one officer explained to me that they got a call that the person. >> the suspect. >> the suspect was in here. >> kim: but that wasn't the case. and tonight, both men are still at large.

the property about a half an hour ago and we did see that they changed all the locks on the front area of this apartment complex. also a neighbor told us that he had seen that dark colored old model saturn in this neighborhood before. reporting live outside hendersonville, kimberly king, news 13. >> larry: developing tonight, crews in buncombe county investigate a house fire. it happened just before 2:30 this afternoon in candler along south morgan branch road. the homeowner called 911. he got out safely but his home was completely destroyed. firefighters say a faulty chimney may be to blame. a woman wanted by asheville police. she's accused of using a cloned credit card. she's accused of using an upstate company card making $9,800 in purchases.

woman who used a credit card to make $11,000 purchases. >> darcel: new information tonight, the north carolina supreme court has agreed to take up a lawsuit over the future of asheville's water system. the city is suing to block a bill passed by state lawmakers that gives control of the system to a regional water authority. the state court of appeals in october ruled against the city and appealed a transfer. asheville appeared to the supreme court. mayor manheimer announced today. >> all the citizens of asheville and all the citizens who live in cities across the state. >> darcel: the lawsuit is being watched across north carolina. its outcome could set a new precedent. a pregnant woman may be infected with the mosquito borne

a doctor with greenville health system tells us she's a former patient and now he's trying to track her down. he said her baby had a neurological disorder which he now believes may be connected to zika. it's been rapidly spreading through latin america over the last couple of months. there are three cases in south carolina. test results are still pending. >> larry: the asheville city school board and superintendent are final particularly in grades 3 through 5. news 13's justin hinton joins us live from hall fletcher. the current option on the table would affect hall tlech fletcher the most, right? >> justin: that's right. in is not a done deal and there is still time for parents to weigh in.

low 40s by 11 o'clock tonight. wear those layers. you know the routine, especially this time of year. you'll be able to shed those layers this weekend. i'll show you how warm it gets and when the rain is finally back in the forecast. >> larry: many people in asheville depend on the bus to get to work and places like the grocery store. just recently the city started running buses on sundays. but now as news 13's ashlea surles reports, some say bus service in asheville is still coming up short. >> lots of the routes end at 6:30, 7 o'clock. you get out of work at 7 o'clock, you got to get home on the bus, you don't have time to go to the grocery store. that affects food security and all other types of issues in this community. >> for many in asheville, they're the big clunky things you get stuck behind on the way home from work.

the only way home. deal. >> ashlea: james cambrel said his friend had to camp out in front of work. >> some people are blessed with that much money and some people aren't. you gotta balance your budget. >> ashlea: 100% of riders said they needed evening service. we have to remember these are low income people, you know, would you be able to pay for it. we're not advocating for raising fees but the indication that people are willing to pay for it is an indication of how great the need is. the people's voice is the citizen's group that fought and won last year to get the city to run at least some buses on sundays. now they plan to use meetings to chip away at the agenda.

speaking at football, we're looking ahead to a sunny and warm weekend. jason, it's going to be a perfect one to get outside and maybe toss the ball around. >> jason: yeah, toss the pigskin around. 47 degrees for the temperature today. that put us a little bit below average. we'll take it. 28 degrees on the low this morning. started out a little above average. kind of washed out there. no rain. no snow today. we still sit about three and a quarter inches for the month and year. finally that wind will weaken overnight tonight allowing temperatures to drop below freezing. the rain returns. how about this for a sunset.

this is mount pisgah right there. that is just beautiful stuff. i love the silhouette of the blue ridge. and of course folks going about their business. the wind speeds were strong today. gusting over 25 miles per hour today. by morning, they'll be a lot less. we'll still have the wind in the afternoon tomorrow. wind speeds, sustained winds about 10-15 tomorrow afternoon in a lot of the mountain areas. if you're far enough south, you probably won't get a lot of wind. swain county, even graham county. then we talk about the rain chances. they are going to be going up monday in asheville. this is all rain. this is not going to be a snow maker by any means. it's going to be too warm. saturday and sunday, dry as well for the mountains. but the high elevations have a

getting rain monday and tuesday. 40 degrees right now. it is clear skies in asheville. a northwest wind earlier. now a west-northwest wind. puts our wind chill down to 35. you're going to feel it, folks. it's going to take a couple of hours before it weakens. high pressure is the dominant weather feature here. as that goes east, our wind comes up from the south. this is what's really going to warm us up right here this weekend. anything from the mid-atlantic to the atlantic coast. eventually, though, something's got to give. here comes our cold front. this is going to turn in to a big storm for the rockies as an area of low pressure swings out from the rockies and brings snow to colorado, kansas, and nebraska. the wind, again, relaxing tonight, turning more southerly. you can actually see that here with the wind vectors pointing

some high cloudiness late day. other than that, it's clear skies until late in the day on sunday. we'll start to cloud up a little more in advance of that cold front, which will eventually come our way to bring us rain next week. lows tonight for the mid 20s in the mountain valleys. look for 30s in the upstate. freezing in gaffney. look at these highs tomorrow. 60s for the upstate. we'll push those 60s all the way up to i-40. even upper 50s to around 60s in waynesville. we'll cool down eventually behind the front which brings us a good shot of rain tuesday, early wednesday. we get colder by next week. we're in the 40s once again. temperatures will be warmest for you in the upstate for sunday-monday when you top out in the mid 60s. not bad.
