couple inches of snow and more accumulating ice. freezing rain advisories will expire in the upstate around 6 o'clock. future cast. there you go, temperatures still below freezing here for several more hours. everyone is warming up to get rain in most mountain locations. bigger changes coming by the end of the week. stick around. >> darcel: icy roads in henderson county caused multiple wrecks and forced schools to close today. >> tammy: karen, it's been a mess there today. >> karen: right. we saw multiple accidents and found out first hand how slick some of the roads are. from a morning accident with injuries. >> it's a bad situation all around. and it happened really fast. >> karen: to this wreck on interstate 26 that backed up for miles. one crash that ended up at this towing company. >> i think it took everybody by surprise. even though was it forecasting

we didn't expect the roads to be as slick is what it was. >> karen: we found one of the slickest roads is where this trash truck hit a tree. this road is hard to walk along and very easy to slide down. dot workers in henderson county say the early arrival of guard. >> secondary roads to try to get some salt or salt and sand mixture on that to get it to melt. >> karen: many say the melting cannot come soon enough. roger says here at the dot crews are going to continue to work on the roads. he warns if you're going to be on the roads tonight to be careful because it could take a

female inmate. >> i'm surprised. i think they're supposed to be role models and in authority so they should definitely know better. >> rex: an investigation is underway. >> sheriff christopher and our district attorney, the sbi was asked to investigate. >> rex: the sbi confirms in early january it started looking in to al allegations of inappropriate behavior by jonathan jones. >> maybe allegations falsely or if it's true, then i hope he gets what he deserves, too. >> rex: the sbi hopes to complete its investigation soon and turn over findings to the district attorney's office. anita moore knows no charges have been filed. in general, she says, people in these types of jobs should maintain the highest standards. >> not a good thing especially in that position. >> rex: she'll wait for justice

goodwill has an existing store just up the street. workers did confirm that they are relocating that store. the vice president of facility services bill heymore told me goodwill is building a stand alone retail and donation center. he says the new store will work better for customers and employees and will provide a better shopping experience. heymoore wouldn't say just how much goodwill is spending on this center but he did say they hoped to hire more workers. right now they employ about a dozen people. and he believes they could be adding more workers when they get to that new location. the new goodwill is expected to be completed and open by late may. remember if you have a question for us, you can write us at ask

is this going to be a crippling ice storm? not necessarily. this is a typical ice berg for rain. it's all going to spread east ward. will the temperatures be cold enough for all that freezing rain? not likely. we'll see some patches of heavier freezing rain. the idea is that freezing rain this evening will remain east. rain will remain west. people in those areas east will start to warm up. rain ending tuesday morning. by tuesday evening, we'll turn back to that wintery mix of rain and snow as another system swings through. that mostly will affect our neighbors to the west rather than asheville. a lot to watch in the next 24 hours. all the green represents rain. that encompasses much of western north carolina. east and south of asheville, here you go in the red.

biggest concern of icing will be. tenth to a quarter inch of icing in rutherford, polk, southern and central mcdowell over to central burke county, northern greenville and spartanburg county. light glazing to mostly a tenth of an inch. the issues will be much less overall than those getting heavier icing conditions. airport below freezing. you can see some of the moisture frozen on the lens here outside the studio. wind chill in the low 20s. it's miserable right now. here's that system wedging in from the northeast. once that wind wedges southerly, everything is going to start to change to rain. that's already happened west of i-26. most of it will get rain. then that system will dive in. high country west of asheville.

snow may work down in to graham and macon county. i'm not expecting much in the way of accumulation. here's 9 o'clock in the evening. look at all that pink here. even up until midnight, some pockets of freezing drizzle in rutherford county. evening shifts east ward. late day we get a shot of wintery weather tomorrow in to wednesday. tonight's lows, right around freezing asheville south. still above freezing. west ward highs in the 40s and 50s. what a difference in the upstate. mid 50s, even 60s in some places by the end of the day. cool down by the end of wednesday. spring like with highs in the 60s for your coming weekend. >> tammy: still to come, a new way to bounce back. how local patients are benefiting from a therapy that
