that, mitchell, yancey, avery county you're all under winter advisories. a lot of the snow is going to wrap up early tonight. but the impacts with the black ice, blowing snow will continue. over in tennessee, we have winter storm warnings until 10 o'clock in the morning. graham county getting some of that snow fall. it's really about 3500 feet where some of this is really accumulating now. in the black mountains we have snow. little creek in the northeast corner of madison. in the next hour you can see some of this snow is going to turn to rain briefly and back to snow. 32 degrees on our leicester carpet sales news13 sky cam network. haywood county 55. right at freezing. accumulating. coal springs ranch dropping and thus the snow is accumulating.

that are coming and when asheville might get some snow. stick around. >> tammy: ems workers say 17 people had to be taken to the hospital. ten of those injuries were from car accidents. 7 were from slips and falls. >> had a lot of slips and falls. people coming out of their house. again, seeing it wet and rainy and not realizing the temperature and whatever, that it was freezing as soon as it hit the ground. >> frank: none of those injuries were serious. but slipping on the ice can be. he showed us a pair of slip-on cleats that he and other ems workers use when they have to navigate the ice. an update now on work to fix a broken water main in asheville. the water department estimates it will be 9 o'clock tonight before the repairs are done and the water is back on. the break happened around 4:15 this morning along mcdowell county.

have been dealing with no water or low pressure. the exact cause of the break is unknown. crews say the recent change in temperatures could have played a role. >> tammy: the family of a cashiers man is killed in home. investigators are confident they'll make an arrest. jackson county sheriff's office is tracking down all leads. norris' family members say he was a wonderful family man who loved the outdoors and was committed to his faith. they look to an arrest for the sake of closure. >> i just want to have justice be brought to our family and for kim. because that's what he deserves. >> he might have been my brother-in-law by marriage but to me he was my brother. >> tammy: the jackson county sheriff's office is handling this case as a homicide.

close central elementary in waynesville is coming tonight. >> frank: parents and students continue to fight to keep their school open. frank kracher joins us live in clyde. frank, folks are getting ready for one final rally. >> frank: they are. they're just beginning to gather now outside the education center. this is where the board meets. this was supposed to happen back in february 8th. winter weather postponed that. it is just raining right now so this meeting tonight is on. now the board of education has already approved a $2.4 million budget reduction for the next school year. things like declining enrollment. officials say closing central and consolidating it with other elementary schools could save half a million dollars. put parents say this school offers their children quality education that they deserve.
