students can go in and train for a job. gogornor pat mccrory just spoke moments ago. he gave the official announcement that gf lindmar will be coming to henderson county, particularly mills river. it's a brand new company. it will be a combination of lunamar that's already in the asheville area, combining with a partnership with gf, which is a company from switzerland. mccrory talked about western north carolina and the need to bring jobs. jobs like this bring in young people who are getting training. as we reported over the last several months, it has been a $7.2 million tax incentive to lure in this company. over the course of 14 years

break. they estimate there will be about 350 new jobs coming with this project. there are still dignitaries that are speaking inside the old historic courthouse. this is the biggest economic announcement for this area in ten years. we'll have more information coming for you later on in our newscast. kimberly king, news 13. >> tammy: new at 5 this afternoon, parents protested outside the asheville board of education offices today. they say the school district refused their request to be included in decision making. in january, the board proposed hall fletcher become a 4th through middle school. and the younger grades move to the other side of the asheville city pre-school.

rain is on the way. we're talking about some severe thunderstorms in the forecast as well. tammy, darcel. >> darcel: a weekend house fire in jackson county ends in tragedy. rex, what happened? >> rex: the fire yesterday took the life of a man who lived not far from here. it was a tough location for crews to respond to. it was an early sunday morning fire on top of a mountain side at the end of enchanted forest drive, captured on video. jerry anis lives by. >> we did see a little bit of smoke on the top of the ridge. >> rex: the fire department responded about 6:40. a few minutes later, chief dale woodard was the first on the scene.

water and everything in there. when i drove up, you could look entirely through the house. the roof collapsed and fell in. the entire upper floor of the house was on fire. >> rex: woodard said it took about an hour to put the fire out. >> we did locate a body, top level of the house. kind of in the hallway, kitchen area is where we located the body at. we don't know that it is him until, you know, he's identified. >> rex: that will be done through an autopsy. no logs were in the fire place. the chief says the homeowner is known as a heavy smoker. >> so you know, you're not ruling out that it could be a cigarette or something like that. >> rex: now it could take some weeks before the final autopsy results are in, as well as the official cause of the fire. self-fire departments responded in addition to the savannah fire department.

defendant who said he had never been in that dollar general store and really doesn't recall why he was there in the first place. he claims. john le, news 13. >> darcel: a man convicted of manslaughter is now charged with felony animal cruelty. david penlee was arrested. the animal's owner says she found the 38-year-old breaking in to her chicken coop. when she asked him to stop, he grabbed two by the neck and started shaking them. and threw them to the ground. he shakes them like this in front of me. >> darcel: he was charged for murder after stabbing a man in 2010. coming up at 6:00, why the owner

dwayne is concerned that if the salt washed off your car is in the recycled water then you're going to be reapplying the salty water back on to your car. he's worried that this could have the same net effect as having all that salt on your car to begin with, which is rust. autobell is one of those car washes that recycles. but they say what goes back on to your car will not cause it to rust. >> the salt mixed with our soaps and chemicals renders a completely harmless, non-corrosive. >> frank: autobell says the soapy chemically treated water is only used for the wash cycle. and that all cars get a fresh water rinse at the end of the cycle. they say they're proud to be water recyclers and doing their part to preserve limited resource.

now your news 13 skywatch weather. >> karen: it is umbrella time with rain moving up from the upstate. if you're not getting rain yet, just give it a little bit of time and you will. we have abundant rain that is coming up across georgia and it's only going to pick up as we go on through the evening in to the late night. 55 degrees right now in asheville. light rain falling, southeast winds at 7. in the upstate, now, also raining. 58 degrees, winds out of the south at 7. and we can see how dark it looks on the greenville camera there mind the current conditions. we have this area of low

rain on through our region and as we take a look at a few future casts, i'll show you the one, the bigger picture that shows a couple of ways of heavy rain. the one that is moving in to our region right now. and then one on the way. now by midnight, we can see this future casts model wide spread throughout the mountains and the upstate. then as this area of low pressure moves out of here, we are going to get a break from the rain beginning around mid morning tomorrow continuing through mid afternoon. dinner time tuesday tomorrow, not looking too bad. we have a system on the way, this is a system that is going to bring strong to severe thunderstorms. by wednesday afternoon, it's going to move through. and then we have cooler air. mainly a little bit of a wrap around snow mix coming our way on thursday morning.

as we go hour by hour. by 8 o'clock, we can see that rain falling around much of the region. we go through the overnight, it is going to come down heavy at times. but by morning commute time, 7 o'clock, we actually see some breaks in the rain. so that is good. we go on through the rest of the morning, early afternoon. it will be a cooler day tomorrow. pack up that heavier jacket. then you're going to need the umbrella. with that rain picking up again ahead of that approaching cold front. how much rain are we talking about? through tomorrow, noon, over an inch. this future cast model showing that by the time the second system moves through here, some locations could see over two inches of rain in the foothills, hendersonville. bryson city over two inches as well. let's check out the lows tonight.
