3 now we turn to asheville... where a bernie sanders gathering is being held... to watch tonight's returns. news 13's aaron adelson is there live... aaron? he's got lots of support here. these folks will be here watching the primary coverage, and they've spent the day trying to get others supporting bernie. 3 3 bernie sanders supporters came together at "the block off biltmore" to canvas the neighborhood. representatives from sanders's national campaign helped organize the event. volunteers took two shifts knocking on doors and handing out information about their candidate. the south carolina primary is about two weeks out from north carolina's election day. this marks a last minute push for voter turnout... and gives the community a chance to be involved. 3 53:24 "bernie's campaign and his grass root movement is all about trying to re-engage people in the political system. that our democracy works best when everyone is involved and when we stand together on things that are really important, there's

admit guilt for crimes commited here in the u.s. under one condition. upon extradition from mexico, guzman wants to be transferred to a medium-security prison in the u-s... and serve his time there. "el chapo's" escaped twice from maximum security facilities in mexico. his attorney says the guards at his mexican lock-up won't let him sleep... waking him up regularly, to confirm he hasn't fled. he says that't' causing his client to suffer migraine headaches. 3 two deadly attacks by suicide- bombers in afghanistan today. one happened near the afghan defense ministry in kabul... killing 12 people. there was another suicide-blast near the pakistani border earlier in the day... that claimed at least 11 lives. 40 others were wounded in the second attack. reports indicate the taliban's claiming responsibility. 3 family members and first- responders gathered in new york city friday... to mark the anniversary of the first terrorist attack on the world trade center. a truck bomb exploded in a parking garage

february 26th, 1993. the blast killed six people... and injured more than a thousand others. yesterday's service took place at the national september 11th memorial-and- museum. six people were convicted for their roles in the truck bombing. 3 there's a major comeback underway for the migratory monarch butterfly population. experts say their number's increased by 255-percent over last year. the count is done every december... at the wintering grounds in the mountains west of mexico city. conservationists are optimistic... but say monarchs are still at risk. illegal logging that strips protective forest canopy... continues to be a problem in mexico. but the u-s is now working to reintroduce milkweed... a plant critical to the migration. 3

now your news 13 skywatch weather. >> karen: warm today, even warmer tomorrow. look at what is coming our way. this bubble of nice warm air over the central u.s. we can see current temperatures right now in places like oklahoma city and dallas around 70 degrees. this nice mild air is going to move in for the second half of the weekend. right now, not too shabby at 50. our humidity, a low 23%. meanwhile, in greenville, 54 degrees. light winds. overall, though, just feeling very, very good. a couple of future cast models to show you. this is the first one. you get the bigger picture. a ridge of high pressure kept us

by 6:00 a.m., we're going to be dry and very cold. we're not going to have any cloud cover overnight. temperatures cooling off. starting off sunday morning well below freezing. the sun comes out and we rapidly warm up. highs in the 60s. by 6:00 p.m., it is shaping up to be a very pleasant night. we're not really going to see the effects until monday morning. but monday, bright and early, we do see some light rain moving in with this very weak front. so that monday morning commute, it could be messy. very quickly that front moves out. high pressure moves back in. monday in to tuesday is going to be dry. however, we have a second system that is out in the central u.s. by midnight on tuesday, that one is on the move. and that one could bring us some showers, even some storms and much cooler conditions. hour by hour future cast.

a little bit breezy in some locations. winds are going to be coming down. little arrows here on this map are pretty small. as we go through early morning, we again are going to need those coats, those sweaters. it is going to start off chilly. but then during the afternoon, we're warm, we're in the 60s. we begin to get a little bit breezy as we go on in to the evening. rain moving through my monday at 6:00 a.m. especially in our mountain counties. waynesville, franklin, you highs tomorrow, asheville 64. marion 66. and 70 degrees in pickens. the next seven days, we see a little bit of everything on this seven day forecast. and that includes a chance of thunderstorms on tuesday. tuesday could be kind of a rough afternoon to get through.
