it will go a long way to help charities spread their money further to help flood victcts. the department of transportation working to open roads damaged by the floods. 39 roads throughout 19 counties remain closed. luckily, only one primary road remains closed which is sc 193 and saluted county. residents in the pine glen neighborhood of lexington county say they are nervous when they see heavy rain in their area. on friday, residents saw water from the lower salute to river. move them to higher ground if the fire department and the sheriff's department were there at the neighborhood on scene helping rivers -- residents to move to higher ground is necessary.

the circle k gas station. there were multiple stab wounds. authorities say he was taken to the hospital and his condition is unknn at this time. andrew gaither's but pete -- left pinky finger was cut off during the attack and has been reattached. he will join the other two in the hospital -- in jail after he is released from the hospital . deb dixon told deputies that a man got out of a nearby car, pointed a and him and stole his iphone. but not before he hit a parked car. the suspect's mother actually drove up and return the phone. charges are pending against her son. one person has died after a two-car collision near elgin over the weekend.

a car crossed into the other lane and hit a toyota pickup. the driver of the chevrolet was not wearing a seatbelt was pronounced dead at the scene. a driver -- the driver and a passenger in the pickup were taken the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. the cause is under investigation. if you were effected by the water main repair in west columbia over the weekend, you should have water back on. sc dot began making repairs and water had to be cut off. there was a leak developed in one connection when they turned it back on forcing them to repaired again after was repaired. a boil water advisory has been lifted for a different set of west columbia residents. several customers had to boil water after a driver hit a

water hydrant in the area. the city said the crashed caused a water line break. the water line has been repaired and service has en restored. environmentalists are applauding a ban put into place by president. obama. it is about microbeads. >> microbeads are generally used to exfoliate were at college and they are no bigger than a grain of salt. they are a big concern for environmental scientists. they say the tiny particles are a constant source of ocean and lake pollution. >> we now know that the fish harvested from the great lakes are eating these microbeads. it is going from your face right back into your body.>> reporter: they studied plastic pollution in waters around the world.

-- a skill set. >> a lot of it isisspecific training. maybe it is information technology where they need another certification to cut -- to get going. the technical college system in south carolina is fantastic. there are resources to take people from wherever they are on the career ladder to that next step. >> reporter: you have open communication about specifically what they need to get people to work for them. >> that's the key. we try to stay in touch with employers in the local area. if you don't know the skills the employers are looking for, it is hard to identify a curriculum to close those skills. >> reporter: you can help people to give their resume and talents and showcase their talents and their resume so they get those jobs. >> we work with a lot of partner agencies. one of them is the sc work system. that system is designed to help with all of those needs as far

and the training, how do you show that to an employer? how do you get in front of an employer with a good resume to explain to them what skills you bring to the table. >> reporter: classes like writing and interviewing skills, where can people go?>> the sc work system is wonderful for that. they have free workshops with resume writing and interviewing skills. >> reporter: there is a job fair coming up on january 16. >> yes ma'am. >> reporter: take her resume. how should people best prepared to put that best foot forward at the job fair? >> this job fair is for michelin and lexington. it will be at the midland campus on college street from 9:00-noon. i would recommend to make sure that you are there and on time.
