president obama begins a major push to tackle gun violence during his final year in office. he meets with attorney general loretta lynch to discuss options for tougher gun restrictions. later this week he will unveil executive actions to strengthen background checks required for gun purchasese the topic of gun control is a major focus for candidates. several contenders including gop frontrunner donald trump are also criticizing the president's plans and democrats bernie sanders and hillary clinton expressed support. former president bill clinton who sought to tighten gun laws during his time will campaign for his wife today in new hampshire. a massachusetts judge is ordering bill cosby's wife to testifyane defamation lawsuit filed by 7 women.

we have an area of low pressure. a strong area of high pressure over the mid-west and that is bringing the cold air south. right now these are the temperatures. 38 degrees up in greenville. rock hill 39 degrees. 47 columbia and orangeburg. 46 in sumpter. these are the sustained winds right now. rock hill they have a sustained wind at 21 miles per hour. 16 columbia. 9 in orangeburg. this is what it feels like in greenville and rock hill feels like it is 29 degrees. 36 greenwood. tonight skies will clear and we will see plenty of sunshine tomorrow. but it will be chilly during the day tomorrow. night tomorrow the winds diminish. we will see clear skies. it is not till wednesday the clouds mover in. it will be partly cloudy at that point.

taken care of by the department of transportation the dams need to be fixed first. >> what is going on? >> there are currently 26 dams according to the department of transportation that is washed out. one is the walden place pond dam. the flood washed it out and now a part of the road that runs over it is unaccessible. now they are forced to add more time to take the detour and we spoke to the department of transportation who shed light into the process when a dam has been destroyed. >> there is a private owner for the dam. it may be a homeowner's association or an individual. once the dam has been certified, d.o.t. will go in and make our road

whatever we need to do to return the road to service. till the owner establishes how they will repair and what has to be done and the dam is certified d.o.t. cannot begin road repairs. >> d.o.t. said if the owner works with dhec to abandon the dam d.o.t. will design the structure to allow the stream to travel under the road. >> as i look at that video, that is a major part of richland county. there are a number of schools, apartments, buildings, homes in the neighborhood. did they give you any idea? we heard the road would be fixed before thanksgiving. >> undetermined according to the department of transportation but they have to wait till the homeowners association take care of the dam. once the homeowners association take care of it they will inspect it and give them the go ahead and they will be able to

we have some delays right now. this is 277, north bound lanes into i-77. it is slow. and we have a slow down in the westbound lanes of i-20. southwest side of town. things are moving in good shape. on the northwest side of town it slowed down on the highway through west columbia to lexington. it is slow. a slow down here on the westbound lanes of i-20. all the way to highway 6 and we have slow downs taking place through the junction. if you are going from downtown it will take you 15 to 20 minutes. ladies back to you. >> thank you. 8 new police officers were out in the community today and the officers graduated on friday and they are spending this week serving the community. the program is called beyond the badge. before they patrol the streets

opposition. several residents "liked" a facebook page. >> reporter: that page has gotten hundreds of "likes" and the main concern is an increase of traffic on forest drive that residents say is already congested. the beach company is the developer behind the project on forest drive. the development would include 298 apartments apartments and commercial businesses including restaurants and shops. i spoke with a woman who lost a family member on forest drive, she supposed to the plan because she thinks it will bring more unwanted traffic. the development manager said the company took all concerns into consideration. >> it is bumper to bummer when

we planted our fall garden late this year. or last year. and the unseasonably warm december actually benefited us because everything was able to grow. few times did we ever to perec it from the cold weather -- protect it from the cold weather but now we have to take some adjustments because winter has arrived and we have to prepare the garden. because the garden was able to grow we have things that are ready to harvest. particularly our broccoli is ready to harvest. we will harvest the rest of it. in addition we have to go ahead and we have got to harvest the rest of our lettuce. our lettuce is actually survived some of the frost and freezes. because we kept covers on them. it is going to get too cold for the lettuce. and then over here our radishes we planted late as well but because of the warm december

and now they are ready to harvest and that is one thing we will do. the things that won't be harvested now we will protect from the cold weather. the carrots. we have mustard greens. we ever broccoli. but there are some things we don't have to worry about. our kale right now is looking very good. but kale is a hearty plant. it could take temperatures into the low teens. if you have got any kale you don't have to worry about covering those. if you have collards, this is the weather you have been waiting for. in many cases collards do betterane hard freeze and collards -- better in a hard freeze and collards could take temperatures into the low teens. don't worry about covering them because this will season the collards and the kale. for the rest of them, we have
