good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. later today the latest in the el nino triggered storms are expected to hit the california coast. the storm system doused california this week bringing torrential rain. floodwaterses and mud slides swamped roadways and trapped drivers from san francisco to l.a. danielle nottingham is in uhall, california. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. ten mobile homes in this community were evacuated. we are northwest of los angeles. a fire burned here over the summer and it left the area barren. the perfect conditions for mudslides and as you can see behind me, crews are working right now to shore up that hillside to stop more debris,

through this neighborhood. parts of southern california already soaked by days of rain are bcing for more wet weather this morning, fuelel by el nino. heavy rain and strong winds wednesday uprooted massive trees in the san diego area. >> the whole house shook. just for two minutes i hoped my roof didn't go off and me with it. >> reporter: launching tree limbs into homes. >> it literally came where i was sitting. if i didn't move, i don't know. it would definitely hurt. >> reporter: many drivers had to be rescued from their vehicles as roads were transformed into rivers. the deluge saturated hillsides and triggering mudslides that spilled on to highways. >> you can drive along and drive right into it and, all of a sudden, you're up to your windows -- window shield here in mud. >> reporter: it has forced some you woulderly and disabled to leave their homes and more rain

>> number five on saturday and the sixth storm of the month will hit top of next week and leading to widespread rainfall totals for the entire state of california and nevada and arizona of at least one inch from the coastline from top-to-bottom and we are talking phoenix also getting an inch or two inches of rain. >> reporter: the system has already brought more than a foot of snow to the mountains, helping to recharge the region's snow pack. forecasters only expect the impact of el nen known to get worse. officials says it take several storms like this to reverse the effects of a four-year drought. >> danielle nottingham, thank you. a series of earthquakes rattled oklahoma, but, so far, no significant damage or injuries are reported. the quakes hit last night within minutes of each other. most were centered in northwest oklahoma. the strongest was a magnitude 4.8. in all, at least ten quakes were

for assault and jailed and she hanged herself three days later while still incarcerated. bland's family says the grand jury didn't go far enough. >> why not charge him with false imprisonment and falsification of police record and documentation and why not charge him with battery and assault so we see san dah endure on that dash cam video i-you're about to break my wrist! >> reporter: if convicted of perjury, ensinia could face one year in jail and $4,fine. omar villafranca, cbs news, dallas. a dash cam recording captures a florida woman's final minutes after police forcely removed her from a hospital. the audio and video records barbara dawson in distress last month as an officer takes her from the hospital to a police cruiser and she collapses two feet from the car.

dawson is readmitted to the hospital. she was pronounced dead an hour later. her family is now suing the police and the hospital. vice president joe biden says he regrets not running for president every day. biden announced last october that he wouldn't run because he ran out of time while his family mourned the death of his son beau. bibin told a connectic tv station that it was the right decision for his family, at the time. senator ted cruz responded to donald trump's claim concerning cruz's eligibility to be president. cruz was born in canada to an american mother. most legal experts agree that makes cruz a natural born citizen as required by the constitution. but trump says that raises questions and potential proroems for the gop. cruz says it's not an issue. >> look. as a legal mat, the question is quite straightforward and settled law that the child of a u.s. citizen borne abroad is a
