are missing >>reporter:neil parker says he will cut to a call overnight monday that the church alarm was going off. >> as the one officer left, the other one was here and could hear other calls coming in at least two other churches, while he was here, had been broken into also. >>reporter:parker says with 20 doors to choose from the burglars chose the one closest to the equipment. >> they were able to open the door from inside and then go inside. >>reporter:he also believes whoever is responsible knows the churches inside and out. both stoops and parker say while they are praying for the burglars there will be consequences. >> i hope they can get some help. >> we can be forgiving within the church, but when it comes down to the law, that is where it goes. it has to go right back to what the law is. >>reporter:the orangeburg county sheriff's office was able to pull fingerprints from some of the churches and a shoe print. they are continuing to investigate.

cameras install. columbia police have arrested three people that they were involved with a shooting and they are still searching for a fourth. they have arrested 28-year-old brown, 24-year-old dominic lewis, and 19-year-old anderson. the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. on saturday night in the 3000 block of truman street. police say the driver would not stop for police, lost control of the car and hit a brick wall. anyone with information on the fourth suspect is asked to call crime stoppers at 888-crime-sc the 2016 legislative session is officially underway. lawmakers return to the statehouse yesterday. several big issues. the top one, they say, is fixing our roads. they passed a plan last year that is now in the senate. lawmakers are talking about raising the gas tax as a stable source of money to fix our roads. >> a wet season, as much rain as we have had, exposed more vulnerability in the roads.

the worse it gets. the less safe our roads are >> the plan also includes income tax cuts and making changes at the dot. if lawmakers return they say a june deadline for developing a plan to improve south carolina's public schools so that more students have a chance for success. leaders pledged to respond to the state supreme court 2014 ruling. that poor rural students lack educational responsibilities. it will include more money for technology in the classroom, as well as summer reading programs a number of lawmakers also want to restructure the state salary schedule in order to pay teachers more. but it does appear unlikely to happen this year. richland county council met yesterday for a special meeting. on the agenda a motion for reforming the county's penny tax program. the recent state audit of the county state -- tax program

councilman proposed motions to be taken up and discuss. council decided that the transportation committee will first look at the motions before the council discusses him during a public session. the motion included the renaming of the transportation advisory committee. the availability -- the ability to prioritize the list, and quarterly reports of presentations given to counsel . >> there has been issues raised by the department of revenue's audits and i want to correct them going forward. we need to put the public's -- the public at ease and make sure there's a lot of years left in this program. we need to make sure that every cent that is collected is done properly, used properly and it goes towards penny projects. >> during the meeting, councilman rush was reelected as the chairman and great peers was reelected as vice chairman. the public is invited to the statehouse today to give their comments and recommendations on the department of transportation.

properly, it is used properly and it goes towards penny projects. councilman rush was reelected as the chairman, and councilman greg pierce was reelected as vice chairman. this morning, investigating the death of a -- an inmate at the york county jail. john david dillinger was found unresponsive in his cell on sunday morning. he was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. the cause of death was not given. dillinger was arrested last week on grand larceny charges. the former berkeley county sheriff has pleaded guilty to dui, and failure to comply with police. in connection with the 2014 drunk driving arrest. wade witt was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to serve 60 hours of community service. he was arrested back in december of 2014 on counts of leaving an accident scene. failure to stop for blue lights, and dui.
