3 state regulators want more money to monitor the water quality in south carolina's rivers and streams.dhec is asking state lawmakers for about $950,000 more in its budget..that money would be used to hire 16 new employees and buy more equipment to test water around the state.budget cuts in recent years have forced the agency to reduce the frequency of water sampling and the number of sampling stations. 3 more jobs are coming to the upstate.a groundbreaking was held for a new japanese company in spartanburg.toray carbon fibers american is building a manufacturing plant there.governor haley was on hand for the ceremony.the plant will hire about 500 employees over the next decade.
