there are real philosophical divide on this. we have to try to bridge those gaps. >> this morning at seven, americans for prosperity will be at the exxon on west main street in lexington offering to pay for 45 cents of every gallon, as they talk to drivers about their opinions on improving roads. a car dealer representative from across the state attended the senate judiciary committee meeting, they debated a bill that centers around the legality of car dealers charging a closing fee. there are more than 200 lawsuits pending against car dealers from customers who say the closing fees are illegal. if approved, the bill would prevent them from receiving refunds. part of the measure discussed would require car dealers, who close charging fees to pay one- time registration fee of $10 each fiscal year to the department of consumer affairs for the bill was passed out of committee and is headed to the full senate. and a general subcommittee meeting, senators listen to

status. these bills stem from governor haley's request of the federal government to not play syrian refugees in south carolina following recent terrorist attacks in france and germany. senator lee bryce is there security concerns. >> most of the bills are needed . i would like to see a hall to the program. we are basically trusting the federal government with this program, and i do not have a lot of faith in the federal government at this time. i do not want to have a situation to where people are harmed in south carolina, and we did not do something to keep it from happening. >>reporter:senator kevin johnson does not agree with the bill. >> we have about 1500 refugees who are hard-working citizens are hard-working people, i would say, trying to raise a family and earn an honest living periods not have caused criminal problems. there is misconceptions out there, i think once we clear this i think a lot of people will feel as i do, that these bills are not necessary. >>reporter:so far to syrian refugee families have been placed in south carolina by the federal government since december of last year. in columbia, lauren thomas, news 19 wltx.

from the october 3 although it's extremely cold right now ... if you were to brace the elements you could see a really cool thing happening starting tonight, you can see five different planets visible to the naked eye. we are here with the planetarium manager over the south carolina state museum. you are our expert on this. five planets, in the sky, visible to the naked eye. that is not very common, is a? >> no, it is not pretty want to go out and look at it if you have a chance >> tell me what that means is that they are all visible? how is that possible? >> were all the planets are, and their orbits, right now the five bright ones, mercury, venus, saturn, mars and jupiter

time in the predawn sky. to have all of them kind of lined up, all at once, is not a very common thing. it is a pretty nice treat if you can get up early, in the morning and go out and see that. >> i was going to ask what is the best time to go look at this, the best place and things like that. >> you probably want to go out 45 minutes before sunrise, sunrise now is about 7:30, go out about 6:45. sometime about now, and go out and look towards the east, you want a clear side, you do not want buildings, or trees in the way, if possible because mercury will be pretty low and lost in that twilight glow of sunrise there. it will be hard to pick out but they will be in a nice line there. that can be one of your clues, because venus will be superbright, jupiter is up here on it superbright, and then saturn and mars are in the middle and if you follow that line down into the sunset there is a tiny bright light there that will be mercury. >> i've heard you can tell a different between planets and

twinkling affect. is that how you will be able to find it in the sky? >> that is one way you can tell. since the planets are so bright, they are just going to stand out. that line is going to stand out against the twilight there. especially venus, and jupiter. that is another way you can tell, because the planets are lined up instead of being scattered all over the place like the stars. >> what would you say to encourage people to go look at this and check it out? >> i would say definitely check it out if you have the opportunity. it will be visible over the next month or so, probably better over the next couple of weeks, like i said, it is something that does not happen very often, it is supposed to happen again in august in the evening sky, but it will not be quite aseasy to see evererhing. there isis moon in the way, so, it's definitely worth going out and sing. even if you cannot see mercury, just to see the other for planets all lined up is really pretty. >> thank you so much. by the way, the planetarium is

evening, by 6 o'clock we will drop down to 40 degrees. as far as the roads right now, no accidents are being reported on n e main thoroughfare. coming out of sumter crossing over pineview heading to i 77 traffic is slowly picking up. from germany street to divine all the way to mall what avenue to downtown traffic is light at this time. a little bit of a delay from i 26 and have a harbison boulevard to downtown 15 minutes, south of i 77 from blithe would you are looking at a 23 minute commute. we will take a look at her 70 your 70 forecast coming up in just a few minutes. let's turn to flood recovery now, number of homes in the pine glad neighborhood had to be demolished yesterday but you will recall these homes were heavily damaged by the october flood. we cover this neighborhood a l ot. we spoke with a woman named jana do bow whose home was torn down. she had 61 inches of water inside her home, after the flood and had to be rescued by her neighbors.

it is cold outside. efran afante what can we start later in the day? >> fortunately, we will be warming up, but the temperatures to start off with still very cold. in the 20s for the most part, 28 winnsboro, 28 lexington, 26 columbia that a frigid 21 in manning a tad warmer and when you get to newberry at 30, aiken at 31 degrees. area of high pressure has been controlling our weather for the past couple of days and that is moving off and being replaced by a lot of cloud coverage. with the tail end of this warm front a lot of moisture is moving into parts of the tennessee valley. by 9 o'clock this morning, a lot of cloud cover still settling in in the midlands. a lot of snow accumulating snow from knoxville to asheville coming over the mountains. as we get into the midday a lot of that will cross over the appalachians hurried as it gets into parts of the upstate and will start fizzling out. a lot of that moisture, by the time we get into the midlands,
