good thursday afternoon, and thank you for joining us on news 19 at noon, and i am darci strickland . we start off talking about your forecast, and we have details on how much longer we will see this rain. we have had a brief pause in the central midlands, but more rain coming in from augusta, some pockets of moderate showers, but overall light shower the midlands all through the morning, continuing with the rain. at the airport or the 7 degrees and cloudy skies. light wind out of the east at 3 miles an hour. we will continue with rain, and

morning at 50 degrees. as this rain continues, 47 for the afternoon, clearing skies overnight, 35 degrees, and windy conditions. 49 degrees, but wait till you see the weekend weather. your forecast coming up. the department of transportation is proposing eight $725 million plan to widen i-26. this is $480 million to widen the interstate in charleston and north charleston, and they plan on widening between richland and newberry county, and they hope to cover 80 to 90% of the cost. this could take six years for the design, planning and construction. resident in richland county can expect to see more construction on the roads this year, according to the new

expecting to complete more than one dozen projects. since the beginning of the program, $127 million in sales tax collected to complete these projects around the county. $31 million went to construction last year, and the green streak is expected to be completed and the next few months. a tire plant opening in spartanburg county, unveiling the $50 million plant, making tires for agriculture and forestry industry. 52 employees are at the spartanburg plant, and they expect to add 100 more workers by 2018. a poor water advisory issued in west columbia, the waterline break affecting the customers in the 1300 block of alpine drive, and residents are urged to boil their water for at least one minute before

president joe biden will chair the effort. the pentagon, fda and national inch to for health are among one of the dozen agencies involved in this effort. nasa is holding a day of remembrance to commemorate the crews of apollo 1, challenger and columbia, along with all of those that lost their lives while furthering the cause of exploration and discovery. the challenger exploded 30 years ago today, killing all seven astronauts aboard, including ron mcnair, and the families and friends of those lost will gather today with nasa to mark the university -- anniversary. they have connected three more people to the armed operation in the federal live -- wildlife refuge in the remote oregon area.

let's welcome back. 12:15 pm, and we have seen a little bit of rain so far this afternoon. a gorgeous weekend and lots of sunshine. but we have to get through this rain first. only this morning we had light scattered showers throughout the midlands, and a few hours ago, a break over columbia and parts of lexington. no rain is moving in, and on the doppler radar, a decent pocket of light to moderate showers moving through just in the northeastern macon county, and areas south of lexington, south calgary, gaston, and it continues to move to the northeast. all of us in the midlands have

of rain so far. still quite a bit of rain moving out of georgia, what we can see some clearing. we are not dealing with rain all night, coming to an end shortly. all of us ran the low to mid to upper 40s this morning, 43 in newbury, 47 sumpter, and in the capital city, 47. we hit our high of 50 degrees at 1 am this morning. the winter out of the east at 3 miles an hour. here is that front, and it is beginning to retreat. and behind this, we have cold air, and that moisture, and that is the rain that has been traveling through, but it will come to an end. still light rain moving along i 20 as we get into the rush hour, tapering off. by 8 pm, clearing in the

and grand strand. these are the temperatures for this afternoon, most of us of hit the highs, mid to upper 40s this afternoon. midlands 47 with continued rain in columbia. skies clear and quickly tonight but cold 35. all of us will be dealing with temperatures in the low to mid to upper 30s. as we watch all of this making its way out, a little bit of cloud cover making its way over the appalachian mountains, but no rain. this high pressure will slowly move in, and we will actually warm up. and warm up very nicely. tomorrow 59 with lots of sunshine, so get ready for saturday, 64 and plan accordingly, by sunday, 67 degrees with cloud cover. and we have more, continuing temperatures. monday 69 with increasing clouds coverage.
