lawmakers passed a bill that would allow judges to grant immunity to those who kill someone out of self- defense on their property. under current law, you would have to go through the process of a trial and be found guilty of murder or innocent for acting out of self-defense. a representative says the bill would allow judges to hear your side of the story before the process. if the judge find you acted out of self-defense they could grant you immunity from the charges that would be dropped. >> you will have a judge look at the fact. if they believe you need to be prosecuted you be prosecuted. you have the hearing under idea you acted reasonably defending yourself. if you didn't act reasonably you will go to trial like you should go if you had done something wrong.

>> getting better and dry for the weekend. let me show you the rain moved out of the picture. we have the rain in south carolina. along the coast for the most part. we have seen a lot of rain in the past 36 hours. least amount of rain through the northwestern part of the midlands, piedmont. half inch to an inch of rain. in the columbia area we saw an inch and a half to two inches of rain but from orangeburg to kingstree, there it was frequently 3 to 4 inches of rain. now the rain is along the coast. the front moved off shore. we have clouds over the state but it is beginning to clear out in the northwestern corner of the state. and it is clear over the south east. we have cooler air coming in. we will be feeling that as we go into the weekend. currently temperatures look like this. 51 over in sumpter.
