bus in sight and no word from the district, they are fed up. >> we didn't hear nothing. 7:13 p.m. my child came home from being on the bus at 2:30 p.m. >> reporter: she stood outside her home waititg for her son. the minutes turned to hours without any bus. >> i called the bus station. the transportation office. nobody answered. leave a message. they don't call back. i don't have a number for the bus driver so i am concerned. i called the school. the kids already left. >> reporter: her son and 16 other disabled students were stuck on the broken down bus without food, water or access to bath rooms. her son was one of those children. >> i come home and no child. i am scared. i don't know if something happened. i don't know if the driver got kidnapped. wow don't know. couldn't get no answer -- you don't know. couldn't get no answer.

this is the 11th time the bus broke down and the parents aren't wrong in saying this is a bigger issue. >> we are at the mercy of what the state givers us in terms of equipment to repair. even staff. the mechanics. the bus shop is understaffed. getting the parts and keeping the buses running. >> reporter: a monitor should have been provided with an emergency contact list. >> we did not do a good job of notifying the parents. we didn't do a good job of having the contact information. i apologize for that but that has been addressed. again. >> reporter: he says they are already looking at the route for next year and working on making them more efficient and requesting a handicap bus be left in the lot at all times.

that will be tonight. tomorrow it will be partly cloudy with a high temperature of 62. it should be dry for the work week. we will look at the forecast in a moment. governor nikki haley announced a new partnership that aims to reduce preterm births and child hospitalizations. 1200 families receive intervention. it involves pairing nurses with moms on medicaid. the nurses make home visits birthday. the new announcement means 3,200 additional mothers will years. >> this will reduce on domestic violence, this will reduce on numbers of visits to the emergency room, this will reduce on sicknesses, on so rural areas. this will be driving to rural areas to meet with moms.

normally have the resources. >> south carolina ranks fifth worse in the child poverty with 27% of all children below the federal poverty levels. 5,000 people are homeless statewide. a new program is putting the homeless back to work in the hopes of getting them on the road to recovery. news 19's sonia gutierrez has the details. >> reporter: not everyone can cash in on a job. some sometimes that leads to homeless homelelsness. that was the case for her. >> within two months i found a job. >> reporter: till she found the back to work program. >> i appreciate what transition has done for me. what sc works has done for me. >> reporter: one of 19 people to graduate in december. >> have a great day.

through, we will be under dry conditions for the rest of the week. temperatures have been nice. we warmed up nicely today. it is a little cooler upstate. 59 degrees in sumpter, charleston 63. and here is what our caul is projecting. clouds mew -- computer model projecting. clouds moving in. a chance of a shower. but it moves in quickly and then we have partly cloudy skies for tomorrow. and then tomorrow night, we will be clearing out completely and we will see nothing but sunshine through thursday. it will be dry from there on. here is what we are expecting tonight. low temperatures dropping down into the upper 30s. low 40s. 37 in newberry and camden. 41 degrees in columbia and sumter. 42 orangeburg. tomorrow high temperatures of 59 in newberry. 61 degrees winnsboro. 62 columbia. 63 st. matthews.
