you to go to any of the kroger, the academy stores, sports stores or walgreen's where you can pick up your weather alert radios. we have them on sales at the store here at kroger. you can come out here this evening. you n come out here anytime and pick your radios. they will be on -- on a discounted sale price through mid-way. even after we leave you can still pick them up. today was a good example of why you need a weather alert radio because of the potential for some severe weather and the weather alert radios work even when the power goes out. that is important. today fortunately we did not see some of the severe weather that they have seen in north carolina and virginia because the line moved on through. when the front came through that is when we saw the high winds.

us this afternoon. wind gusts 53 miles per hour. and we will continue to see windy conditions through tomorrow. but we will look more at our forecast coming up a little bit later. >> all right. thank you very much. few weeks after the october flood our sonia gutierrez was in clarendon county checking out the bad road conditions that people worried about emergency vehicles getting through. they came out to fix things but now they created another problem. >> every since the flood it went down hill. a couple weeks ago -- >> couple weeks ago residents had to park out of the block. >> never thought i would have lake front property. >> reporter: the county fixed the road. the roads are now dry but the problem is, the yards. >> fixed one problem. >> reporter: this is what his yard looks like right now. >> they come out here and added

better to gret in -- get in and out but there is no drainage. >> i get tired walkininthrough all the water and mud. pulling my leg up out of the mud and stuff. >> reporter: his biggest fear is slipping out of his prosthetic leg and falling. >> with all the rain and no drainage, just -- the water is piling up. >> reporter: we asked the county administrator what they can do about it. >> the county is looking into a program to deal with the drainage and the ditches. >> reporter: he says they are hoping to roll it out mid- summer. >> we are working as fast as we can based on the amount of staff we ever, the contractors. and also funding available to work on the roads. >> reporter: there were 400 roads damaged by the floods. the county fixed about 100. >> for the citizens and the public to know, not like we are not doing anything.

>> reporter: sonia gutierrez, news 19 wltx. >> lot of you reached out with similar problem. you need to figure out who owns the roads and go from there. a senator continues his filibuster of the states road bill today. he is speaking out against raising a gas tax to fund roads. saying $2 billion is already going towards roads. he wants to change how many is being spent. there is a commission that controls road products. that commission works off political interest and wants to do away with it. he wants the governor to hold the power. he would not be willing to compromise with lawmakers who want to raise the tax. >> i think there is funds that were already collected. 15% increase in revenue over last year is extraordinary.

increase, $1.3 billion, how can you say despite that increase in revenues we are still going to raise your gas taxes. >> he is expected to filibuster another day and then a senator will relieve him. a new effort to protect your personal information online. a new program housed at usc and volves the national guard, chamber of commerce and the citadel. large and small businesses will send employees to columbia for specialized training in protector protecting your information. in addition to training it will be a hub for research and development for new technology. a high school student has been charged with threatening to shoot his teacher. he is 18-year-old cameron mose oreglia. he sent a message on social

he threatened a teacher. the message was found by a parent who monitors their child's social media and passed the information along to the school's resource officer. cameron mose oreglia is now in jail awaiting a bond hearing. tonight hillary clinton is campaigning in sumter. she is at a rally at morris college. however earlier today she was in columbia at the baptist church conference center. afterwards i caught up with her and we talked about a number of topics, including the possibility of detainees from guantanamo bay being sent to charleston and the affordable care act. hillary clinton says changes need to be made to obama care. >> i think it is a great accomplishment that we have 90% of americans covered but we will have to improve it. we will have to make changes. i want to get the cost down. make sure there is more

i want precipitation drug costs down. i will try to make it better and we will get to 100% coverage and i hope to come up with incentives to persuade the state government to expand medicaid. a lot of people in this state who are not able to afford healthcare at all. they could do well on medicaid and i hope the state will join the many other states that decided to do that. >> reporter: an issue that has been in the news in south carolina, president obama talking about closing down guantanamo bay again and moving the detainees from guantanamo bay to the naval bring outside of charleston. governor nikki haley said that is something she will fight. what is your position on moving detainees from guantanamo bay to south carolina? >> i know the president hasn't made any decision about where anybody would be moved to. he has to work with congress. he has to pay attention to what

i hope he can. i hope he can cooperate to get this behind us because i do believe keeping guantanamo bay open provides a propaganda argument for isis and the other terrorist groups. we should work together to find a way to close it. and i know that it will come with cooperation from congress and states. >> former president bill clinton will be on the campaign trail tomorrow and friday for his wife. he is going to rock hill, spartanburg and winnsboro and on friday aiken and bluffton. bernie sanders was in columbia today holding a news conference. he spoke about the poverty rate in the country and attributed the increase to a 1996 welfare reform bill supported by hillary clinton. he said something needs be done to help the poor and powerless. >> i believe we need welfare reform but the goal is to get people to stand on their own two feet, to help them, help
