good monday afternoon. thank you for joining us for news19 at noon. i'm darci strickland. we begin today with a story we have been covering sense over the weekend. richland county councilman kelvin washington is out on bond after being charged with felony dui. troopers say kelvin washington was driving on bluff road near martin luther king boulevard when he rear-ended another car. one of the passengers in the car was transported to the palmetto health richland hospital with serious injuries on saturday. meanwhile, attorneys say the mexican drug cartel has a hit on a man after he shot and killed his wife's lover on valentine's day. his attorney says that he was a member of the cartel. during a court hearing, the claims were not challenged. deputies are continuing to search for a suspect in a motive after a woman was shot saturday. this happened around 9:00 at night.

it's gotta be d's. a big win last night for usc women's basketball. beating lsu. the gamecocks finished a foot -- a perfect 16-0 in the sec. they are now ranked third in the nation. the quarterfinals of the sec tournament is friday in jacksonville. the top-seeded gamecocks will face the winner of of the state's contest between missouri and auburn. and you can show your support for the team at the big pep rally today. the mice that south carolina the my carolina alumni association. this is in downtown columbia.

with the dry air still in place -- even with the cold front approaching -- and the cold front has been moving quickly -- making its way through tonight. as we go throughout the afternoon and into the evening, we will not see any rain at all. maybe a little bit of cloud coverage. right up until midnight. get ready to enjoy a lot of sunshine today. temperatures will be warming up. upper 60s, lower-70s -- all throughout the communities. wind out of the west. we will see abundant sunshine. this evening, increasing cloud coverage. the temperatures will drop tonight. a little chilly tonight. what was from 45 in columbia, down to orangeburg at 46. let's go to the cold front that will be moving through. it will be moving through quickly. the area of high pressure in the central plains is forcing the cold front to jettison into the southeast. this cold front and the low- pressure -- is all moving quickly.

us a chance for some showers a little bit earlier. the computer model shows a little bit of rain in the upstate overnight tonight. as we get into tuesday morning and tuesday afternoon, the rain will develop -- more into the north central midlands. and the cold front will start racing through. that is the one coming in from way up in the north side of the united states. the computer model shows it will start pushing through by about 1:00 in the morning wednesday morning. although the models are a little bit aggressive on how fast it is coming through. the bottom line -- plan for sunshine tomorrow. seventy-five is the high. late in the evening and overnight, showers and thunderstorms, going into wednesday. and another round very late thursday evening into friday. but the temperatures are still going to be pretty warm for tomorrow and wednesday. in -- if you missed out on the rain, none this week. >> i don't think of as many
