inside the loop, not drag now your travel times. we will continue to keep you updated throughout the morning. as you had outside, we' ll talk about the construction in the overnight hours. lisa: 5:02 on your a shocking friday, discovery at children' s hospital after a couple overdoses in a baby' s room. the incident left the woman dead, and the baby' s father behind bars. and this morning he will answer to a number of charges including having a weapon. wlwt news 5' s andrew setters is live at the justice center with latest. andrew wesley landers is here : now at the justice center. in the last 24 hours he' s gone from being the parent of a patient at children' s hospital, to a patient at u.c. med center, to a prisoner at the justice center. waiting to go before a judge. landers is facing drug charges and weapons charges after being found on unresponsive on the bathroom floor of his baby' s hospital room. he was passed out from a suspected heroin overdose. court documents say he had a needle in his arm and a loaded gun in his pocket. and he wasn'

a 32-year-old woman was found as well but she could not be , saved. today landers will be in court, an an autopsy will be conducted on the female to determine if heroin is to blame. >> initially it was a shock that , it was in a healthcare facility, in a child' s room and so tragic. andrew landers had traveled here : from alabama to get treatment for his 7 month old. posts on social media say the baby had surgery to reconstruct her trachea. the couple had a go fund me page set up for out of pocket medical expenses. live at the justice center, andrew setters, wlwt news 5. lisa: children' s hospital released a statement on it' s security practices. it said in part, patient safety is a top priority and taken very seriously. we have a cincinnati police officer at the main location 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. we are always re-evaluating our

safety of our patients. 5:04 right now. a man arrest in a murder, that police say was covered up by a fire at a west price hill home will go before a judge today. police arrested albert mccants last night for cleophis carson' s death. the 34-year-old victim was discovered by firefighters, after they put out the house fire one month ago. investigators have not said how carson died. 41-year-old mccants is charged with murder and robbery. bringing his message to the people, president obama attended personally a town hall meeting , last night to discuss gun rights. wlwt news 5' s miriah turner is at the live alert desk with more on the meeting. miriah: good morning, lisa. the town hall held at george mason university. was broadcast on cnn. just days after the president unveiled executive actions to help combat gun violence. in his first town hall event in 2016, the president debated the second amendment.

lisa: a live look at newport on the levy on a clear day looking in this direction. we have rain on and off throughout the day. we check in with randi coming up. a tradition that started in europe as a way for couples to show their commitment to each other has spread here to the u.s. including one here in cincinnati. randi: you can see it on the purple people bridge. but now these love locks, as they' re called are being cut down. at this point thousands of couple have fastened their locks to the rails on the purple people bridge as a sign of their unyding love. however, the locks of love have now hit a sour note with the owners of the bridge. dozens of the locks were removed over the past few weeks because of concern over the weight of

lisa: a campaign aimed at helping foster children in hamilton county needs your help. the gloves for love campaign is collecting thousands of gloves, scarves and hats. all the donations will go to foster kids throughout hamilton county. the organizers did a similar drive last year and collected more than 10,000 pieces of luggage. but this year, the campaign shifted gears. >> this year we talked to the people at hamilton county job and family services they said their is definetly a need for hats, gloves scarves and , mittens. these kids need to stay warm. lisa: the goal is to gather 10,000 items for families in need. donations can dropped off at any sibcy cline location. the winter gear will be given to foster children by hamilton county job and family services and other organizations. the gloves for love drive ends february 13. they call themselves the dancing nae nae' s. a group of northern kentucky women who turned the nae nae song into a chance to help

back in november we introduced you to the women from panorama senior apartments. now we just found out they finished 2nd in a seniors got talent contest. they will be presented with a $500 reward later this month. the women told us last fall they would use any winnings to help others who' ve fallen on hard times. you have to leave it on for the stanky leg. that is the best part. anytime we do a story about the song, you get into it more more. randi: i' m trying to learn it. i have no idea how, but i feel like i can whip now. i' m giving it a shot.

-- prior to being born in utero. so it raises a lot of questions. andrew: wesley landers was taken from children's hospital to u.c. and brought here at the justice center. he will be arraigned. the name of the woman who died and her relationship with landers still not clear. we're waiting for more information from police and from the coroner's office. lisa: a former aberdeen police chief found guilty of domestic abuse will be sentenced today. his wife said he used to beat her and her family believed that led to her death. a local firefighter was killed in a recent arson case was targeted several times before the fire. miriah turner is live with the latest developments. miriah: according to police record the house had been targeted with crimes four

before the latest arson case that took the life of patrick wolterman. the incidents range from thefts to menacing. alarm system wires had been stolen from the house. in july the homeowner's daughter reported the suspect making threatening remarks. investigators told him to add hazard tape. in august of 2012, the home enother's car was keed overnight. in february police were called. and that same alarm would go off when patrick wolterman would enter to fight the fire. the arson investigation is still active. there's a $20,000 reward if you know anything call crimestoppers. i'm miriah turner. lisa: federal officials have made two arrests on terrorism related charges.
