a closer look at what is going to be a mild friday, we really can' t complain. randi: some rain showers, but it is january and we are in the 40' s to start the day. rewind it about 72 hours, and it was really cold. nobody wants to do that on a friday. lisa: i don' t know why you even brought that up. randi: we' ve had some cold mornings. not the case, 39 degrees this morning. 42 in harrison. most places right around 40, even 45 in warsaw. ring in on, right? not a bad thing. they will be followed up by some rain rolling in from the southwest. we have clouds that have streamed in over the last couple of hours, rain showers slowly moving along the ohio between paducah and louisville right now. not a huge batch of rain. eating into our southwestern communities mid-to-late morning. -- getting into our southwestern

lisa: thank you. a woman shot in her car and abandoned on the side of the road. mark: and police say the bullets came from another car. wlwt news 5' s dan griffin is live with where the investigation stands and what we know about the victim' s condition. dan? dan: good morning. police are on a manhunt this morning, taking a close look around the area for the suspect. meanwhile, we' re told a woman is in critical condition after being taken into surgery overnight. cincinnati police said the woman is 24 years old. investigators tell us she was driving north on reading road to the norwood lateral when she was shot in the side. her red trevi -- her red truck crashed. a man who was a passenger in the truck ran off. the shooter was seen in a silver sedan punching the gas after firing several shots. the case was initially called road rage, now investigators say there could be more. >> we' re gauging based on the

six and nine, but again we don' t , have anything to support that outside of the physical evidence on the avalanche right now. >> this right here needs to stop. it' s the beginning of 2016. we' re getting tired of this. dan: this morning, police are looking for that silver sedan. we' re also told a use the k-9 to try to track the tracks of the man who left her truck, but they had no luck. dan griffin, wlwt news 5. mark: a shooting under investigation in hamilton. butler county dispatchers a least one person was shot in the parking lot of hard times bar on south seven street. the victim was flown to the hospital. the extent of the victims injuries are not known at this time. lisa: new this morning, a suspect is still on the run after stealing a car and committing a robbery in north college hill. police say an officer spotted the suspect after the robbery, and there was a chase that ended in spring grove village. the suspect ended up ditching

away from the scene. a k-9 was called to the area, but could not track down the suspect. mark: new details on a bank robbery in deer park on plainfield road. police have released a surveillance picture of a suspect when the union savings bank was robbed wednesday morning. the person showed a gun demanded money and then hopped into a , maroon vehicle on linden avenue. if you recognize the person in the picture, call police. we also have new pictures of two people suspected of stealing a car in dayton, kentucky. surveillance cameras caught this man and woman at hansman' s corner market. police say they stole a car from that parking lot on new years eve. if you know who these two are, call police. on the assault of a ripley police officer. the man arrested for the crime is being held on a $2 million bond. police say kyle moore attacked officer john amole, breaking his jaw and causing a concussion. they say amole confronted moore on route 52 wednesday night. the suspect' s ex-girlfriend called police to look for him.

scared after she and moore broke up. >> scared to death. she called me last night. she went somewhere else and state. he' s a bad character. >> two minutes. two or three minutes. it happened so quick. what i get from john, the victim, only thing he remembers is waking up. lisa: police were able to capture moore after nursing home employees called 911. they say moore asked to use their phone. mark: police officers in ohio may soon have to meet new requirements before applying to join the force. ohio' s police training commission voted to add drug testing for all police recruits statewide. other additions still being considered, a polygraph and psychological exam. the attorney general is also asking the commission to consider adding some misdemeanors to the list of crimes. -- crimes that would prevent a person from becoming an officer. many of the larger cities in the

october. today the vice president will be in philadelphia to participate in a roundtable discussion with cancer experts. you' ll remember biden' s son, , beau, died of brain cancer last year. lisa: the duck boats are returning to seattle less than four months after a deadly accident. last september, a crash between a duck boat and a bus killed five and injured dozens of others. since then, the duck boats of seattle had shut down. that ends this morning when tours on the amphibious military-style boats resume. mark: an update on the developing news we are following, we' re learning another person was hurt after shooting in hamilton outside the hard times bar on south 7th street. we' re told one person was great by a bullet, another was flown to uc medical center. the victim grazed did not accept medical treatment. lisa: the cdc could issue a travel warning later today urging pregnant women not to travel to certain areas of the caribbean, central and south america.

birth defects. the virus is transmitted by mosquitoes and it can be deadly when it is passed on to babies in the womb. there have been thousands of cases in other countries, and now there' s concern it could spread here. >> the gulf coast of the united states is an extremely vulnerable area because they have both species of mosquitoes that could transmit these herbal viruses, including zika. lisa: at least one woman in texas is thought to have already returned with the virus. right now there is no vaccine for the virus. a new bill in kentucky could change the way children ride bikes across the commonwealth. mark: for one kentucky mother, the fight is personal. miriah: heather floyd' s son tj suffered a traumatic brain injury. he' s the inspiration behind tj' s bill which would require children under age 12 to where the helmet in kentucky will running a bike. in 2010, then seven-year-old teacher was riding with his siblings when he fell and was not wearing a helmet. now tj'

accused of performing unnecessary surgeries and procedures. he left the country after he was arraigned, and there' s never been a trial. the significance of today , according to attorney eric deters, it' s the two-year anniversary of a more than $1 million verdict awarded to one his clients in the case against durrani. deters says he represents more than 500 victims. today his clients are expected to pick it at three hospitals. they' re calling for justice and hope to bring attention to what happened. lisa: a developing story in bond hill a woman shot while driving , and investigators are still trying to answer several questions right now. miriah turner is at the live alert desk with a look at what happened. miriah: cincinnati police say the victim is 24-year-old iesha williams, and she was shot in the side while driving on reading road thursday afternoon. after she was shot, williams crashed into the back of a metro access bus and police say no one on the bus was injured. this was initially described as

police say it is unclear what led to the shooting. >> it would be total speculation. all we know is we had a discharge of shots from one vehicle directed at another. i couldn' t offer what proceeded or precipitated the shots being fired at this point. miriah: investigators believe the shooter was driving a silver sedan. williams had a passenger in her car who ran away from the scene. police have not been able to track that person down. from the live alert desk, i' m miriah turner. lisa: police are still looking for at least two suspects after an 18-year-old was shot and killed inside his west chester home. 18-year-old justin koch is in custody for his role in the death of tyler kassow. police believe koch was part of a confrontation at kassow' s home on wednesday. tyler' s brother was there and says two men pushed their way into the house. one had a loaded gun and fired a shot that hit tyler. police have not given a motive,

money and possibly an xbox. >> my son said that they came in and said after they shot him, and that' s what they took. lisa: police are holding justin he' s charged with complicity to murder and complicity to aggravated burglary. police are still looking for another male suspect and a female suspect who took off in a blue mazda protege. mark: in mount healthy, a search for answers after a woman called 911 saying she saw a dog thrown from a pickup truck. police say they found a dead beagle near compton road and clovernook last thursday, but they are not sure if the dog was killed before or after that incident. we talked with one woman who witnessed it. she can' t believe someone would do this. >> an animal is something that does have feelings. they are not just there. they do care about you. and for an owner to do that to their animal is just horrible. mark: police were able to track down the driver of a pickup truck possibly connected to this

we are told the driver in question has two beagle dogs, but told police he was not driving that night and has not driven his truck in the last six months. lisa: mariemont high school is planning a public memorial service for a recent graduate who was killed in a bus crash in honduras. olivia erhardt was with a bus load of students from columbia university preparing to go home after a volunteer humanitarian mission. the bus suffered some kind of mechanical failure and swerved off the road. olivia was one of three victims killed in the crash. she graduated from mariemont less than two years ago. >> there was absolutely no doubt in anyone' s mind that she was going to do great things. and to see that' s not going to be the case is, it' s very sad. lisa: mariemont high school is making counselors available to students if they want someone to talk to. mark: happening today, visitation services for the man who made a big difference for many here in greater cincinnati.

grocery store. this is not just an avondale problem. it' s a cincinnati problem. >> we actually have one of the worst rates of grocery stores being located in underserved communities in the country. we have 10 fewer stores than the national average. miriah: the city has been working toward this since 2009 and there is still plenty to do. , closing the health gap says cincinnati has 10 fewer stores in underserved communities than the national average. mark: thank you. happening today, jungle jim' s kicks off its third annual barrel aged beer bash. the two-day event will feature more than 80 different kinds of beers for guests to sample. the beer bash will take place in the oscar event center at the fairfield location from 7:00 to 9:00 both nights. guests who will partake in the drinking must be 21 or older. admission for drinkers is $40, non-drinkers pay $15. winners are coming forward after the powerball drawing wednesday
