we do have skies that are clearing out across greater cincinnati. do feels-like temperature, between 2-5. at noon, 17, sunny and cold. expect a high around 23. lisa: this morning' s frigid weather has resuleted in dozens of school delays, which are scrolling at the bottom of your screen. mark: the cold temps and low wind chill also puts firefighters at risk when battling fires like one overnight in batavia. wlwt news 5' s andrew setters is leading the way with how the winter weather is affecting their duties. andrew? andrew: it' s not the kind of weather when you' d think about a car wash, but batavia firefighters were busy battling a fire in a car wash overnight. they were dealing with very cold temperatures while battling the blaze on hospital drive at the batavia car wash. the fire apparently started in the attic area of the car wash. exactly how it started isn'

clear yet. batavia called in help from union, williamsburg, and stonelick township. part of the reason they needed additional crews was to give firefighters a chance to rotate out of service and get warmed up. you start with cold weather and add water, and firefighters can have a rough time on a scene like this. >> water can freeze in hoses and lines get shut down. the cold weather itself just takes a toll on the guys out here who are getting wet. you know, the wind' s picking up a bit, so it tends to take a lot out of you. andrew: they were able to get this fire out and no one was hurt. reporting live, andrew setters, wlwt news 5. lisa: breaking news this morning. two drivers had to be taken to the hospital after a head-on collision. it happened near reading near eden park drive on the one-way ramp near northbound i-71. police say alcohol is not a

driver was not familiar with the area. both drivers were taken to uc medical center. their injuries are not life-threatening. the scene has since been cleared. mark: the standoff at an oregon wildlife refuge is expected to come to an end later this morning. the fbi says it has surrounded the area, which is still occupied by several protesters, including a man from blanchester. 27-year-old david fry was very vocal on wednesday, and at one point he insisted he would not be taken alive. a man was arrested en route to the scene. the refuge has been occupied for more than 40 days by a group opposed to federal land-use policies. what began as a missing child investigation has turned into a homicide investigation. lisa: the baby is home safe, but her mother was found dead. news 5' s tammy mutasa is following this homicide investigation.

attention, expected to sign a deal stripping government funding from planned parenthood. signing that bill is a move that' s could help him with conversatives in the upcoming republican primary in south carolina. the bill will impact about $1.3 million in funding from the ohio department of health. it would prohibit the money from going to entities that perform or promote abortions. mark: tonight' s debate comes after there was victory by bernie sanders. they now switch to nevada and south carolina. tonight' s debate will take place at the university of milwaukee and begins at 9:00 p.m. eastern. the new streetcar is expected in over-the-rhine later today. dan griffin is live along the tracks this morning with what this means for the project and

dan: that new streetcar will be coming on a flatbed tractor-trailer and that will mean some street closures and parking restriction. here is what you need to know. the streetcar will be delivered to over the rhine. henry street will be close to in d near elm. it will take about 90 minutes to load the streetcar onto the track. service is expected to start in september. we are live in over the rhine. lisa: thank you. 13 degrees. randi: it is a cold start this morning.

single digits in many parts of town. wilmington, 8 degrees. it feels like 3 zero. 11 in loveland but the wind is calm. covington, 15. it feels like around 5. there is not a big wind. on the way to the bus stop, expect temperatures near 9 degrees. it will stay chilly. this afternoon, at least it is sunny. we did not make it out of the teens yesterday. we should make it into the low 20' s. a warm up is on the seven day. we will take a look at that coming up in a couple of minutes.

a chance for some snow showers tomorrow. a couple of flurries through will stay to our south and west. into the afternoon, maybe some additional snow showers for the evening commute. it will not be around too long. maybe a half inch of snow. light snow for tomorrow. saturday, wind and flurries. snow rolls back in sunday night into monday. gys? mark: a series of robberies in northern kentucky this week and police think it could be the same man involved in all of them. lisa: police say the man in all three cases has a similar build, appearance, and approach to the robberies. he has never shown a gun, but police believe he is armed and dangerous. fort mitchell police say the suspect walked into the u.s.

note demanding money from the teller. the bank employee complied and the suspect walked out. monday, a man walked into the circle k shell gas station demanding money. and hours later less than half a mile away, the bb&t bank was robbed. >> i' ve never heard or seen anything like that before, so it' s new. kind of scary that it' s getting, you know, drifting from the big cities to these small towns. lisa: detectives from fort mitchell, erlanger, and elsmere are working together in these cases. mark: new developments in a shooting investigation in blue ash. the city' s police department is now calling sunday' s shooting on oak street an isolated incident. at least 10 shots were fired along oak and florence avenues, according to police, injuring three people. police are now saying everyone involved in the shooting knew each other and they were acquaintances with ties to the hazelwood community. no charges have been filed in the shooting. blue ash police say detectives are still looking at forensic

to the right gun. lisa: new developments in the fight against heroin in ohio. senator sherrod brown has introduced new legislation that he says treats opioid addiction as a multi-faceted problem. he says his legislation includes prevention, crisis response, and long-term recovery support. senator rob portman has been promoting legislation that is already moving through the senate. it includes federal support for treatment and recovery programs. >> cincinnati' s certified most accurate forecast. randi: good morning. bundle up. there will be sunshine and temperatures should get to about five degrees warmer than we were yesterday. the good news is the wind is only about five miles per hour. he could still feel like the single digits early this morning as you head out.
