we will continue to keep you updated. mark: developing this morning, a deadly shooting on a sidewalk in over-the-rhine. andrew setters is live as cincinnati police investigate this homicide. good morning. andrew: cincinnati police have already made some progress in their investigation. they have a person of interest in this case but no charges have been charged. 31-year-old james mixon was found shot in the 1600 block of vine in over-the-rhine. he could not be saved. police have not said anything to us about what may have unfolded. they have said a person of interest has been located and they' re not looking for anyone else. cincinnati police say the shooter claimed he was being robbed and that' s why he fired. police spent time this morning interviewing him.

victim arguing with someone not long before the shooting about money. police continue the investigation and we hope to learn more from them. andrew setters, wlwt news 5. mark: we are following a developing story just outside pittsburgh. kyla: five people are dead and another three are injured after a shooting in a neighborhood. authorities say four women and one man were killed. according to authorities, the shooting happened during a backyard party. police are searching for a pair of gunmen, who they say fired from an alley near the party. so far police have no one in custody. mark: new this morning, a school threat at a local middle school has parents on edge this morning. the latest threat being in the three rivers school district. wlwt news 5' s dan griffin is live in cleves with the investigation. good morning. dan: good morning. three rivers school leaders aren' t saying much about the threat saying they cannot

parents aren' t happy with how the school' s handled it so far. the school district made a post on facebook telling parents they became aware of the threat at about 5:30 last night. they say the threat was not social media-based but induced a level of panic. school leaders say no children or staff were in danger but wanted to take a level of precaution. cleves police are now investigating. the school also said parents can rest assured students will be safe today. some parents responded to the post, asking why they weren' t called and also saying they were unhappy with how tight-lipped officials have been about what happened. a spokeswoman for the school said they could not clarify if extra security is part of the plan but the student will not be in class today. we are live in cleves, dan griffin, wlwt news 5. mark: two cincinnati officers accused of covering up a crash involving a fellow officer are acquitted of all charges.

cincinnati on sunday will wi n ohio for trump. mark: in the latest polls for ohio, trump and kasich are battling it out. the most recent poll comes from fox news, which has kasich in front by 5%. but in polls from quinnipiac and cnn, trump is leading by 6%. kyla: happening today, the hamilton county board of elections is getting ready for the ohio primary. election officials are going to have a public test of voting systems. the test will take place at the board of elections starting at 9:00. hamilton county will be using e-poll books once again. those systems have been reprogrammed after big issues and delays when voters went to the polls in november. mark: the postseason has arrived for xavier. the x-men are taking on marquette in the big east tournament. marquette beat st. john' s last night to make it to the quarterfinals, where xavier is waiting on them. the game tonight is set for 7:00 at madison square garden. if x can get it done, they will face the winner of the creighton-seton hall game on

5 minutes, a very low commute. another check on the closure on summit road. mark: thank you. new developments with the first uterus transplant in the u.s. doctors say they had to remove the donor organ from its recipient. a 26-year-old texas woman named lindsey received the uterus during an operation at the cleveland clinic last month. but the hospital says lindsey developed complications, forcing surgeons to remove the womb. it' s not clear what those complications are, and the hospital is investigating. happening today, lawmakers are turning their focus to the heroin and prescription drug epidemic sweeping the country. the senate is expected to vote on final passage of the comprehensive addiction and recovery act. the bill is aimed at tackling opioid and heroin abuse. this would, among other things, look at alternatives to imprisoning drug addicts and give grants to governments and nonprofit groups for education and prevention efforts.

lawmakers are considering new restrictions on teens and tanning. a bill that would ban anyone under the age of 18 from using a tanning bed is moving forward in the kentucky senate. right now kids between the ages of 14 and 18 have to have a signed parental consent form to use a tanning bed. the bill with the tougher age restrictions passed committee on wednesday and now goes to the full senate. mark: randi is here with a look at what is happening. randi: you are looking at mostly rainy conditions. a few breaks here and there. over the last two hours, a little bit of a break to the northwest of downtown and the rain is starting to fill back in. this goes all the way back into texas. rain returns to the forecast towards the weekend.

threatens a local school and even though the district assures students they are safe, parents are very concerned. dan griffin is live in cleves with what we have learned overnight. dan: this morning some parents are debating even sending their kids to class this morning. way they found out was through a facebook post. this is a story you are seen first on wlwt. school officials say they found out at about 5:30 last night. a taelor middle student made the threat on social media. they called police to investigate it. parents wanting to know why they were never called, they were called in past situations. they want to know why the school is not saying more. a spokeswoman for the school says it is not clear if extra

but for sure, the student involved will not be in class today. kyla: this threat comes as a middletown high school -- high school student is expected in school. this was the same day of the shooting on madison junior high school which injured 4 students. at first, the student denied having a gun but then he came clean and police say he had a semiautomatic nine millimeter beretta in his backpack. tonight there will be another meeting offering support after the school shooting. the last meeting was last night . parent said the district is working on new safety strategies . officials discussed metal detectors and new signs inside school buildings. the meeting is set for 6:00 in the school auditorium. new details after a person was shot and killed in over the
