lisa: developing national news this morning. a police officer in maryland has been gunned down. in what officials are calling an unwarranted attack. officials say prince george' s county police officer jacai colson was killed when two suspects opened fire outside the police department' s landover station. police say one of the suspects was also injured in the exchange of gunfire and is listed in stable condition. the second suspect was later arrested after running away from the scene. collects -- >> this crime is not should be known that murder is crime against our entire community and not only that, but against humanity and that' we will treat it. lisa: there' s no word yet on a motive behind the shooting. police say officer colson was a four-year veteran on the force and acted as an undercover narcotics officer. down to the wire, ohio residents are seeing more political ads, and visits from presidential

lisa: governor kasich is looking to grow his support in ohio with help from former presidential candidate, mitt romney. romney will join kasich at events in north canton and westerville today according to the kasich campaign. this is not meant to be an endorsement. romney is making a campaign trail comeback as part of his escalating efforts to prevent donald trump from clinching the republican nomination. trump is not backing down. he spent the weekend in ohio including a stop in west chester on sunday. there was some tension in the air with protests organized before his visit. >> he knows how to deal with people. we have not had a president in a long time who knows how to deal. >> he' s trying to build walls bt -- between people who should be allowed to come here. he can' t kick people out based on the color of their skin. lisa: there were a few clashes between supporters and protesters many yelling at one , another. trump supporters also set off their car alarms.

so far, no arrrests. still looking for answers this morning after part of an building comes crashing down in clifton. it happened at ludlow and middleton. way sunday afternoon and we spoke with a couple who was sitting on their front porch at the time. they say they heard creaking and saw sawdust fall. before the sudden collapse. >> i basically just made sure nothing else was going to happen. i got up and said, lori, we have to get out of here. and i kind of made sure she was ok. and we got off the porch. lisa: the couple tells us they t notice any problems with the building before the roof collapsed. no one was hurt in the incident. but as you can see in this live picture of the scene, still some lane closures as more cleanup is needed in the area. we will keep you up to date area

lisa: a soccer game in australia over the weekend took an unexpected turn because of this. that is inescapable -- escaped bull. scaring these kids, charging onto the field during a youth soccer game. no one was hurt. that animal just ran back into the woods. thousands of runners made it out for the heart mini-marathon on sunday. fountain square offered a post-race celebration with food music and inflatables. , the event raises money for the american heart association and mercy health. this year runners raised nearly $3 million. way to go on that. today millions of americans will brackets after selection sunday. some basketball fans got a head-start checking out the field after the official bracket was leaked online.

the ncaa is reacting. kyla: this was big news. the ncaa is investigating how the bracket was leaked before the official announcement on selection sunday. the bracket appeared on twitter. during the airing of the ncaa' s annual tournament selection show on cbs. at that point only half of the field had been revealed. the leaked bracket had the full field and it turned out to be spot on. the ncaa released a statement about the incident last night. we go through great lengths to prevent the tournament field from being revealed early, and the ncaa took its usual measures to protect this from happening. unfortunately and regrettably the bracket was revealed prior to our broadcast partners' having the opportunity to finish unveiling it. we take this matter seriously, and we are looking into it. several coaches said they were aware of the leaked bracket and it' s how some bubble teams learned they were left out of the tournament. a lot of(controversy.
