the fire department has asked that rail traffic, including amtrak be stopped for now. so expect delays. the leak was apparently caused by construction work. no injuries have been reported so far. now to the steve mcnair story. nashville police now confirm that the exnfl star was shot to death nguyen by his 20-year-old girlfriend while he slept on a sofa before she turned the gun on herself. carin? >> reporter: first, the medical examiner released the autopsy results. then just hours ago, nashville police wrapped up their press conference saying they believe mcnair's girlfriend, sahel kazemi, killed mcnair in a murder-suicide. these findings are being released on the same day as loyal fans make their way to titan stadium to remember the pro bowl player. tennessee titans fans flocked today to leave messages, watch highlights and look at photos of slain quarterback steve mcnair. >> me and my mom, we would always sit back and watch the football games.

i remember times when we would be cheering and stuff. it is really sad. >> reporter: mcnair and sahel kazemi, the 20-year-old woman he was reportedly dating, were found shot to death early saturday morning in a downtown nashville condo. today dr. fang lee, the medical examiner who performed the autopsies says mcnair was found in a seated position on a sofa with four gunshot wounds. >> one gunshot wound on the right of the temple is a close range. and the other three gunshot wounds, one to the left side of the eye, and the other two to the torso are distant range. >> reporter: also, just hours ago, nashville police held a press conference to say after four days of an investigation, they have concluded that kazemi killed mcnair and then shot herself. >> mcnair was seated on the sofa and likely was asleep. and we believe that kazemi shot him in the right temple, then shot him twice in the chest and

shot him a final time in the left temple. >> reporter: investigators also say in the days before the shooting, kazemi became very distraught and told friends she wanted to end it all. >> we also have reason to believe kazemi recently learned before this day that she believed mcnair was involved with another woman, and that too participated in her state of mind we think. >> reporter: meanwhile, a close associate of mcnair said he had no plans to divorce and his wife of 12 years had no idea he was having an affair. now memorial service will be held in nashville tomorrow night for mcnair, followed by a funeral service in mississippi on saturday. carin redman, abc 2 news. the curtain has closed on the final farewell to michael jackson, and now the spotlight is on the investigation into his death. there is still no cause of death on the death certificate, and tonight sources say the singer was hooked on powerful painkiller, and a potent

sedative dipprovan was found in his home. coming up one of the doctors weighs in. an outpouring of emotion today from students and their parents. their beloved school is being closed. after 86 years, towson catholic high school will shut its doors. the diocese blames low enrollment and a tough economy. abc 2 news roosevelt leftwich tells us parents and students feel betrayed. >> reporter: it's a very sad day, but also very frustrating. so everyone rallied to get it all out. six weeks before school was supposed to start and parents and kids were excited and ready. tuition checks were written. plans were made, and uniforms purchased. everything was set, but now families like the joneses are scrambling. >> i'm here if the school is going to tell us or direct us

where to take our kids. >> it's really a mess. i have to go into another school and try to get relationships with other people and with other teachers. >> reporter: parents say they didn't know the school was closing until their kids found out about it on facebook and told them. today teachers were officially notified, but they had already found out through a blog. with so little time to adjust, it's simply heartbreaking. >> i don't think it will be [ inaudible ] than it's been with these kids. i can't even explain the bond and the closeness that these children have. >> reporter: the diocese said they tried everything to try to keep this school open. they even extended the enrollment over the summer to see if they could get more students, and that just didn't happen. more than half of the student body turned out for rally. and that's essentially the problem. look at these kids. there is no numbers here, but the diocese says only 163 residents were registered in all grades. >> the school had never lost 26 students from one year to the next, and this year they lost

81. when you combine that with the unpaid tuition, you're looking at $681,000 just for one year of a deficit. >> reporter: they will abe allowed to pay the same tuition that they paid to towson catholic for one year. but that's little comfort to students and families who called this place home. in towson, roosevelt leftwich, abc 2 news. >> the diocese has scheduled a meeting with parents next tuesday to help them make plans to attend other schools. another person here in baltimore has died from the h1n1 virus. according to the health department, or the department of health and mental hygiene, this is the second adult to die from the flu. and that person also had serious underlying medical conditions. at last check, 170 people nationwide have died from the swine flu. experts say to be prepared for more flu activity this summer and in the fall in our area, agenda anyone with flu symptoms should contact their doctor.

and like before, details on this particular victim will not be released to protect the privacy of the family. and now police are trying to figure out what led to a shooting in northwest baltimore. it happened shortly after 12:30 this afternoon along the 3300 block of iredale avenue. police say a man was shot in the leg and he ran over to the wall greens on the corner of liberty heights and garrison boulevard. that man was taken to sinai hospital with nonlife- threatening injuries. now the latest on last sunday's deadly rail accident. the father and the stepfather of two teenagers who were struck and killed wants answers. mta officials reviewed video from a camera mounted on the front of the light rail, and they say the train hit the two teens from the back as they walked down the tracks in lutherville. the train continue on as the teenagers laid on the tracks only to get hit by a second train, which eventually stopped. that crew found the body. gary peterson says none of this makes sense, and he wants to know how any conductor could

out in oakland 81 at ocean city. easton 9. 79 in pax river. and dover, delaware right now 78 degrees. satellite picture throughout the day. lots of sunshine today. a few little light clouds during the afternoon. but really, for the most part for this time of the year, absolutely gorgeous weather. now on the larger picture, let me show you what is going on, and what is going to be going on. the high pressure that we had overnight and during the day today, a few little light clouds, and a lot of the clouds are going to be dissipating as the evening goes along. what we're watching is an area of low pressure that is going to be forming right down here. this little area of low pressure. basically, making its way on up the eastern seaboard and park itself right off the east coast. and that's going to give us a counterclockwise circulation of air, which is going to bring in that moisture that we're talking about for friday night, actually early saturday morning, setting up some shower activity here all the way down through the carolinas. speaking of the carolinas, look at the shower and thunderstorm activity in south carolina. these folks can't take a break. they've had between 4 to 5- inches of rain in the past 24

now abc 2 news at 5:30. >> we have an update on breaking news out of east baltimore. good evening. i'm kelly swoope. trains are at a stand still as workers try to fix a natural gas leak. it's underneath a bridge on north point road. the fire department says construction workers broke the six-inch main, so they have asked that all rail traffic, including amtrak, be stopped in that area. officials say the leak apparently was caused by construction work. a bge spokesperson says no residential customer services have been affected. he says it's hoped the repairs can be made in a couple of hours. we're going bring you more updates and details as they come into the newsroom. and also, we have more breaking news out of baltimore county this time. firefighters are battling a three-alarm fire at the suburban house restaurant in pikesville, a landmark restaurant that hasen
