security at the light street pavilion thought fein passed a gun to a friend, but it was actually just a cell phone. when police went to investigate, they say fein shoved an officer. fein was released on his own recognizance, and is due back in court in october. baltimore county police say a man shot to death over the weekend may have been killed by someone he knew. scott greenburg was found dead by his ex-wife at his parents' home in owings mills. she was going to drop off their children. police say there was no sign of forced entry, and the doors were locked when the ex-wife got to the home. there is just a little more than two hours left before the government puts the brakes on its cash for clunkers program. we're told there have been some glitches on the final day. several local dealers reported problems accessing the government computers. still, transportation secretary ray lahood is declaring the program a success. hood says up to 800,000 mostly fuel efficient vehicles will have been sold.

he grew up pitching on the fields of halfway, maryland. but now the mother of a former los angeles pitcher killed in a crash in april says her son's memory will live on. janet giggis joined about 150 people yesterday to help dedicate james adenhart memorial field. the man who killed adenhart and two others is scheduled for trial in november. investigators found the remains of multiple infants not far from dallas today. authorities are not sure how they got there or if a crime was committed. the medical examiner's office and anthropologists are also being brought in to help. skeletal remains were found in this same location in march 2008. canadian law enforcement officials says it appears a reality 26 star suspected in his wife's murder committed suicide. officers found the body of raymond jenkins sunday not far

from vancouver british columbia. police have been pursuing him since jasmine fiore's body was found stuffed in a suitcase and dumped in a dumpster behind her apartment earlier this month. the manager: >> he didn't look very good. he is very dark, very thin looking, very worn out looking. >> police formally charged jenkins with a crime days later, but he had already fled across the u.s. and into canada. maryland's most powerful radar continues to pick up that shower activity on the lower eastern shore. as a matter of fact, what we're going to do is zoom into that region, and show you exactly where we're getting some of that activity. as you can see from del mar down through the fruitland area, pocomoke city getting some. and even the lower sections of virginia on the coastal area getting some shower activity. but it doesn't look like it's rains at the beach. here in the baltimore area, no rain on tap for us this evening. partly cloudy, mild temperatures holding in the 80s for the next coupe of hours.

some cooler temperatures overnight. but tomorrow the heat starts working its way back in. we'll tell you all about it coming up. >> all right, thanks, norm. the remnants of hurricane bill, once a massive storm, have moved out into the atlantic. for most of the east coast, bill had little impact outside of rough waves and strong riptides. but one family has been changed forever. they're mourning the loss of a child swept into the ocean by a powerful wave. abc's lindsey davis reports. >> reporter: a dramatic rescue at sea off the coast of maine. in this home video, a young girl and her father struggle in the violent waves created by hurricane bill. >> we had waves 12 to 15 feet. >> reporter: park officials estimate thousands gathered at thunder hole in acadia national park to watch the massive waves this weekend. like much of the east coast, the area was under a high surf advisory. the waves were so rough, the observation deck was closed. >> a bunch of people were standing near the edge.

they got soak bade wave, and then they didn't step back, and another wave came and took them out. >> reporter: nearly a dozen people were knocked down by at least a 15-foot wave. five of the tourists were swept out to sea. spectators in the group managed to rescue two of them, but three were dragged into the 55- degree water where they battled the rough surf for the 45 minutes it took for the coast guard to reach them. >> it's just amazing how they did survive, both persons, the woman and the older gentleman had severe injuries, broken bones. when we got onscene, they were just treading water. >> reporter: they pulled out a 12-year-old girl along with a father and his 7-year-old daughter. the girl was unresponsive at the time and later died. >> and it was a nice sunny day so, people didn't care so much about getting closer to the water. but that's a recipe for disaster, really. >> 11 people went to the hospital with broken bones after being slammed into the rocked. lindsey davis, abc news, new

an up and down day on wall street ended with mixed results. the dow was up just over 3 points. both the nasdaq and s&p ended in negative territory. new orleans is trying to rebuild after hurricane katrina caused $100 billion in damages four years ago. but city leaders say people living in the big easy and visiting need to take a closer look at the changes that have been made. >> i think a lot of people who see this may say look, you guys have been at this for four years, why isn't this done already? and people need to understand the volume of things that we have done and are doing. >> after katrina, close to 80,000 homes had to be rebuilt, which attracted hundreds of construction workers.

it helped keep new orleans unemployment down, but city leaders say the biggest asset is optimism, something it couldn't claim four years ago. businesses in an arizona border town near tucson are feeling the effects of the dismal economy. today business owners from the area met to discuss how to improve things. long waits at the border and fear others the h1n1 virus has kept many at home. owners also say a devalued peso has hurt businesses since many customers are from mexico. julia child died five years ago, but a book she wrote in the late 1950s called "mastering the art of french cooking" is finally topping the best-sellers list. the recent release of the movie "julie and julia" helped the book sell and will make its debut on the number 1 "new york times" best-sellers list. cash for clunkers program

families of those killed on pan am 103 and through biting criticism of president obama. today the beleaguered justice minister, the man who let megrahi go was forced to explain himself. >> it was my decision. i'll stand by it, and i'll live with the consequences. >> reporter: but suspicion is growing that megrahi was released because the prison wants to do more business with libya. today the justice minister said he released megrahi, who has terminal prostate cancer, for compassionate, not commercial reasons. >> it was not based on political, diplomatic, or economic considerations. >> reporter: websites set up in the u.s. are now calling a boycott of scotch whiskey, scottish vacations and bp. the british oil giant has a $900 million exploration deal with the libyan government. as for megrahi, apparently he is writing a book in which he will claim he was framed for the 1998 bombing. he has always proclaimed his

the region, what we're going to be getting is a clockwise circulation of area around that high pressure, which is going to give us a more northeasterly to easterly breeze during the day tomorrow. but that's not going to help the heat. it's going to start making its way back up into the region. the clouds you see in the area right now, they're going to be falling apart. a pretty nice evening is on tap. and by early tomorrow morning, with the arrival of this area of high pressure, you thought it was cool this morning, you wait until tomorrow morning. it's going to feel on the chilly side. right now no precipitation around baltimore. but we're still picking up showers right behind our abc 2 logo on the lower eastern shore. not raining in ocean city, but raining just to the west of themful around the salisbury area picking up few showers. reisterstown 81. columbia currently at 83 degrees. aberdeen 81. same at fallston and perry hall and millersville right now. 48 degrees. as far as our forecast for the overnight period, there is a few scattered showers along the spine of the an layings that could make it

in around the richmond region. those showers will fall apart overnight. tomorrow a few light shrouds make their way into the region. but for the most part some extremely nice weather, if you don't mind being a little on the warmer side. once we get into wednesday, we're talking hot. but that's only one day. here is your forecast for the overnight period. mostly clear and cooler tonight. 64 for the low at bwi. but north and west of the beltway, in some of the outlying areas you see temperatures around 60. in southern pa, they could see upper 50s tonight and tomorrow morning. tomorrow mostly sunny. it's going to warm up to a high of about 88 degrees, and then heat comes rolling back in for wednesday. the daytime high on wednesday 92 degrees. cooler on thursday with the advent of a few clouds, 84. 81 on friday, mostly cloudy skies. saturday and sunday look like cloudy skies, scattered showers, maybe even a thunderstorm. highs of 81 and 82 degrees. monday the sun comes back with a high of 82 degrees. we'll be back at 6 with more on

>> and we begin tonight with breaking news in the death of michael jackson. good evening. i'm marybeth marsden. the los angelecoroner has ruled the pop star's death a homicide. delia goncalves joins us now with the latest. delia? >> reporter: marybeth, this news makes it more likely that jackson's personal physician made mai be held criminally responsible for the king of pop's death. according to the coroner, jackson was given a deadly dose of drugs just hours before he died at home on june 25th. a search warrant affidavit revealed a powerful anesthetic propofol and two kinds of sedatives were in the singer's system. dr. conrad murray was with jackson when he died and has been the target of a manslaughter investigation headed by the l.a. police. detectives there raided the doctor's houston offices and storage unit last month. now according to the warrant, dr. murray had been treating jackson for insomnia with sedatives for about six weeks in an effort to wean him off stronger
