coming up later in sports. ♪ [ music ] good to see the victory there. and it was a gorgeous day to be down at m and t stadium. things have cleared up nicely. we'ral 78 right now. ocean city turned out to be a decent second half of a beach weekend there. across baltimore, you talk about dry, it's about as dry as it can get out there. humidity dropping tonight i think 60 in the city. we'll talk about how the beautiful weather holds up. baltimore city police are investigating three sunday morning shootings. two of them deadly. a man was found shot to death in the 2,000 block of mcculla street this morning. the victim is 18-year-old israeli mason of baltimore. another man, 35-year-old andre williams was shot to death about two hours later on west

craw street. in the third shooting, an unidentified man was shot in the head just before noon at west cold spring lane. he's in shock trauma. police have no suspects in any of these shootings. many prosecutors say is this the year to toughen maryland's antigang law. tough law enforcement officials will meet in a bid to draw up stricter laws. prosecutors say the current law makes it very difficult to legally define a gang or its members. the harford county officials said they tried to use the law when it came into effect two years ago, but it just threw out all of those charges. virginia wants to execute that man, john allen muhammad on november 9. he is the man who masterminded the sniper terror attacks in 2002. his attorneys plan to appeal the original conviction to the united states supreme court. healthcare continues to be the number one issue down in

washington, as lawmakers remain divided on what kind of reform is needed. president obama will bring his side of the battle to maryland later this week. >> reporter: the battle over healthcare reform is coming to a head. mistakes couldn't be higher, not only for the american people, but for the leaders drawing up the plan. >> i have no interest in having a bill get passed that fails. that doesn't work. >> reporter: the healthcare debate continues to be one of the most contentious in recent memory. joe wilson's recent outbreak is just one example. democrats want wilson to apologize on the house floor. >> i am not going to apologize again. i apologized to the president on wednesday night. >> reporter: the president has strongly favored a public insurance option. but he now seems willing to

the nation, includes good news about the swine flu vaccine. americans could begin receiving the shots as early as the first week of october. which is a lot sooner than expected. some early doses should arrive soon. it will help contain the spread of the flu. the tough economy is contributing to a medical problem. blood donations are down, because corporate blood drives are attracting fewer donors. when the workers are laid off, or aren't replaced after retirements and buyouts, there are fewer donors. some businesses have had fewer blood drives, or canceled them because of staffing issues. in connecticut, the search for a missing yale student continues on the day she was supposed to be married. officials are now searching through trash at an incinerator. she was last seen tuesday at a

laboratory in new haven. police said she unlocked the door, but there is no record of her leaving the complex. a dozen new fires caused by lightning. the fires are spread across the diablo mountain range. firefighters are trying to decide which of the fires should take priority. that is something to see. lightning starts a lot of fires out there. >> it does. amazing videoraphy there. beautiful shot though. pretty beautiful around here today. >> fantastic day. a great day for football. >> drying out, yeah, it was a great day for a win too. let's take a look at what we're

seeing at the inner harbor right now. can't see some of the people, getting a little party on. pretty nice weather. 78degrees. humidity 45 and dropping. it's only going to get drier. take a look down at ocean city. this is really cool, watch closely on the skyline here, they had cloud cover at the beach this morning, but as we go into the afternoon, you see the clouds begin to break up. some pretty good waves rolling into the beach, and the blue sky breaks out in the afternoon, ends up with a gorgeous afternoon and evening. about 74 right now down toe ocean. i want to show you maryland's most powerful radar for one reason. it's beautiful to see it empty. nothing out there. that's what we like to see after the last couple of days. i think we're going to continue to to see this for at least another 24, to 48 hours. a weather maker due in toward the end of the week. that's going to make it rainy

toward the latter part of the week. saver the next day or two. 79. that was the high today. that's average for this time of year. high temperatures right around 80 degrees. ocean city topped out at 82. we've dropped off a little bit here in the last hour or so. down into the mid- and upper 70s across the board. philly is still hanging on at 80 right now. this is another nice sight for us. watch this from this morning, all of that cloud cover drifts south and east, and leaves us with these beautiful clouds. there is another weather maker moving in out of the north up here in pennsylvania. the clouds begin to move into the keystone state, but this isn't like a major rain shield here. not expecting much wet weather for this, until we get into the mid- mid-and latter part of

the temperature drops about 12 degrees on wednesday. saver the next two days. sounds great, thanks. maryland public schools will use locally grown food in their lunches this week. this is the second year for maryland's home grown schools program. they will serve fruits, vegetables, breads, and meats all from maryland. some schools will continue to use locally grown food throughout the school year. the labor day holiday is over. gas prices, guess what folks? are dropping. the current about $1.09 a gallon. cheaper than they were this time last year. mid-atlantic aaa says, driving levels drop off, an average of gas costs you now $2.51. down two cents a gallon from last week. aaa expects gas prices to hover around $2.50 for the next

♪[ music ] it felt like 1996 all over again today for the ravens, at least offensively. they dialed up their inner vinnie testaverde, and won by outscoring the chiefs. joe flacco finds his new target. 22yards. he had three catches all for 1st downs, and i love the attitude. 44yards, sneaks it in. he later missed a 41-yarder. the ravens up 3-0. they were dominating early. is this randall cunningham in his prime? look at him buy time, and hits willis mcgahee. a 3-yard touchdown.

the ravens on top, 10-2. but 2nd quarter, sam cook, punting from his own end zone. john blocks the punt. he falls on it in the end zone, the chiefs, who had zero first downs at this point, make it 10- 7. that was the score at the half. the 3rd quarter starts ugly. flacco picked off by derrick johnson. weaves his way downfield 70 yards. flacco, alertly forces him out of bounds at the ravens 6. this cannot be happening. three plays later from the 2. brody coil. kansas city takes a 14-10 lead. john harbaugh said the story of the game was the ravens answering, and they do. a 9-yard touchdown, ravens

a 114-year-old new hampshire woman is believed to be the oldest american, but baltimore's agnes smith isn't far behind her. she celebrated her 105th birthday today. she looks great. surrounded by family and friends in owings mills. she was born in virginia, and moved her family to baltimore when just a little kid. mrs.smith is still active as a deacon at her church. hopefully, she will enjoy some of this nice sunshine tomorrow too. another terrific start to your workweek, get outside and enjoy it. >> good enough. we will be out here at 11:00,
