95, another crash at elkridge. route 1 at capital drive reported to be just north at 175. so use caution as you approach the intersections this morning. as we look at the jfx at north avenue, traffic is beginning to build on the left-hand side of your screen. no problems to report at this time. megan, back to you. police are looking into what led up to an overnight gun fight in west baltimore. this all happened on west wood avenue. officers found one man shot several times. they say he might not survive. mees also found a second victim. he'd been shot in the leg. authorities have not made any arrests so far. new at 6:00, the fight against h1n1 took a new turn overnight. in australia, country regulators approved an australian-made vaccine for the h1n1 vaccine. the country will become one of the first to vaccinate against the illness. the vaccine will go into use later this month.

new traffic safety measures are in place along a dangerous stretch of road. we're talking route 32 in howard county. the state added new signage warning drivers about vehicles turning off the road. rumble strips encourage drivers to slow down. the actions come one week after a sykesville man was killed in a deadly collision. last night, angry residents met to demand more changes from officials. >> it takes people to die in order for them to consider that this is a problem area and i can't even begin to tell you how many accidents have occurred there. not necessarily fatal accidents but too numerous to count. >> state officials told residents more improvements are coming. we're told long term plans are turning route 32 into a four- line highway. college scownts across the

country will receive more aid when attending college. the biggest overhaul since the inception. the measure ends subsid ourries for private lenders to boost grants for needy students and creates a grant program for needy colleges. president obama spoke about the bill late yesterday morning while on the campus of the university of maryland. state leaders in maryland are looking for ways to trim the budget, and state officials say there is a need to cut another $300 million. state officials say that they are going to recommend reducing the budget immediately. budget director eloise foster says they are looking at ways to cut and will finalize any cuts over the next few days. this is something a lot of you are talking about. we want to know what you think. drop in on abc2news.com and leave us a message. we want to know how you are feeling about the state budget and how much more money will

all right. what in the world? a new record was just set in new york on thursday for the world's biggest pie fight. seems like a waste of pies if you ask me, but the pies, some 1500 of them. coconut custard. the record wasn't for the number of pies thrown but for the number of participants, many of whom arrived dressed for the occasion in the rain gear and overalls. the old record 253 people was topped by yesterday's pie fight with 271. apparently, there's some people in new york who have some free time on their hands. it took the mississippi

morning. these stories and much more coming up, but tgif. i'm megan pringle. jamie's here on the go. first, a developing story is our top story this morning. it takes us to the southern part of the united states where there is serious flooding going on this morning. we with a tell you all about it. justin berk is monitoring the story. let's send it over to justin. >> you thought we had it bad here. take a look at this video. as we take you to near nashville where flooding rains caused problems for a series of counties in tennessee, and at least 18 people were evacuated from their homes to escape the floodwaters. more than 40 homes were searched by emergency management rescuers. i just checked the nashville report. they had over an inch of rain. the actual estimates from this estimate, up to 5 inches of

rain in parts of tennessee. this storm has been sitting across the deep south. it dumped 15 inches of rain in parts of arkansas and texas. that system stays to our south and still responsible for thoughing moisture up our way. this morning, it's cloudy skies. high pressure will try to build in. this one should try to dry us out. into the weekend, check out the forecast model here. dry air coming on in. we're looking for sunshine. today we go to a high temperature of 70 degrees. the weekend forecast is coming your way in a couple of minutes. kim? >> reporter: traffic is building on all stretches of the beltway. no accidents to let you no he about on 695 on liberty road. traffic is heavy between liberty road and baltimore national pike. also on the east side of the outer loop, traffic is building between harper road and providence road. two crashes in the area to let you know about. one will be level road, also known as route 15155 and 95.

isn't saying much about the allegations about you the police confirm the charges stem from a night that happened last saturday in baltimore county. we've learned the four dunbar football players are accused of targeting a 14-year-old woodlawn high school student stabbing him and threa others. attorney warren brown says his client, 16-year-old james mcbride was sleeping over a teammate's house when that teammate's mother drove them to hook for a teen that beat her younger son. a football mom who did not want to be identified is stunned. >> i thought it was sad because i'm thinking about all of these kids' future and the future will go down the drain for something like this. >> reporter: this morning, the 16-year-old is free on bond. meanwhile, the mother who alegendly drove that teens is

also arrested. linda so, reporting. drug regulators have approved an australian-made vaccine for the h1n1. the health minister says if will go into use later on this month. the world health organization declared the h1n1 strain a pandemic that's killed 3500 people worldwide. 6:48 rate now. there are measures you can take to protect yourself from getting the flu. union memorial hospital suggests putting together a flu prevention kit with items that you can buy at any store. lisa grub says the kits should include alcohol gels, tissues, masks, and wipes. >> and other items that you can put this this kit again. you want this to be something you can put in your purse, take with you, put tylenol. there are disposable thermometer strips you can put in if you start to feel like you are ill, and also gloves.

>> the kit can protect against the seasonal flu as well. so a good thing to have on hand. tonight a "20/20" about a story of six of 11 women who contracted hiv from a man they contracted from the same man and none of them new about it. he was sentenced to 45 years in prison. abc's elizabeth vargas sat down with the women to hear their story. >> he made me feel like i was the only woman on the face of the earth. >> at least 11 of his former girl are friends say they have tested positive for hiv. you can see the entire interview tonight at 10:00 followed by abc 2 news at 11:00. today is a big day for a guy we want to introduce you to. his name is vincent and he only has one arm, but has somehow found a way to enjoy the game

of golf and succeed at it. he is about to receive an honor from sherrie johnson. >> reporter: the towson high grad won the one-arm golfing earlier this month. this afternoon, he'll receive even more praise from one leader. jim smith is honoring vincent's accomplishments at his office in the old towson courthouse and the 24-year-old's win secured hmm a place in the flight master cup in britain to compete against european one- armed golfers. while attending towson high school, the graduate tried out and made the general's varsity golf team. since his days at towson high, he was partially paralyzed on one side of had iz body. vincent says he will now be included in the ryder cup for
