hagerstown west. a couple more weeks here. this week is going to help the process out. cool 60s on the way. nice in the 40s. take a look outside. right now we're seeing the weak of the leading edge of that cool front. now one thing about these late september-early october cold fronts, they come through, and you don't immediately feel the change like you do later in the fall and in the winter so it will take a day or two to really see cool air sneaking in. you see in the wake of the showers, bwi shaking 66 degrees. wet weather, this line of showers you see, that is the leading edge of that cool front. still spawning showers over on the eastern shore. basically from chester town northward, finding showers in the direction of the really carolina county and northward, now i think we're going to continue to see some wet weather in this direction. this is a fast-moving line, so for those of you watching on the eastern shore, maybe another 30 minutes or so, and i think you're gonna be in the clear. but a pretty decent little line
5:50 pm
here, not a lot of embedded thunder, this isn't really like a summer shower but you see them moving towards the eastern shore. in the wake of that line here is what we're seeing from our storm center weather net stations, over a fifth of an inch of rain being reported from baltimore. that last report a couple of showers down the annapolis way bringing a small rain amount and 15/100ths of an inch toward hanover. you don't get a lot of rain with those but some spots got soaked pretty good and made it vic for the have afternoon commute. high temperatures up close to 80 degrees. these numbers kind of going away for a while. i don't think we're going to see mid-to upper 70s, i won't say we're not going to see them again for a while but probably not at least for 4 or 5 days. cool temperatures have pulled away. down in the 60s in some spots. taking a look at that line, there's not much behind it so i think for those of you watching if the rain has ended that's probably it. so basically from baltimore westward no more precipitation.
5:51 pm
cecil county southward in the eastern shore here, another half an hour to an hour of rain and it's all out of here and in behind it clearing skies. going to be a pretty nice looking forecast scenario overnight tonight and in the day tomorrow. so look out for the windy conditions behind that pump but the early showers already moving out of the baltimore area at 50 degrees overnight tonight. on the bay, a small craft advisory because west winds 15 gusting 25. it's going to be blues degree but not a chilly day. we'll make it close to 70 but most of the day down in the 60s, here is that forecast. 69 degrees for the high temperature, downtown, may squeak up to 70, but a struggle to get there most of the day. quite windy, look out for wind gusts, 15, 20 miles per hour. seven-day forecast looking more an more autumn-like here. time to get the pumpkin pine in the oven maybe as oui, oui go toward wednesday and thursday. i know terry and i like the souped of that. but it will be more fall issue

5:53 pm
others. and is able to pay big returns by shuffling the funds he has taken in from new investors, not from actual profits. the circle of investors is often kept tight with the main focus on getting the original people to reinvest so the money stays put. but these scams can quickly crumble when authorities get involved or when stakeholders start demanding a payout. >> that's what happened with madoff. people began to pull their money out, want a return their investment has paid back. that money is not there. >> a crushing wake-up call, one that has already been heard from hundreds caught up in the biggest scandal in years. they are warning them to be carry that an investment too good to be true probably is. josie sturman, abc 2 news. now here is a look ahead at abc 2 news at 6:00. a bail hearing for two teens accused of shooting an off-duty baltimore city officer. find out what new details came out in court. >> and a first for the governor. he does something he has never done before. and he wants you to do the same. >> now a preview of what say
