baltimore and howard county line. it happened near the swinging bridge. 8 train cars of the 60 cars derailed. the train was not carrying hazardous materials. no one was hurt. a man who killed a mcdaniel college student in a hit-and- run crash last year will spend the next 10 years in jail. he pleaded not guilty to negligent man slaughter in the death of 19 year old thomas. the student was going bowling when the car was hit from behind. he will serve a one year sentence for leaving the scene of a crash. right now there are more than 200 lawsuits against toyota. they want a federal panel to combine them into one suit.

nation takes us to kentucky tonight at least 10 people are dead in a crash between a tractor trailer and a van. investigators say the truck crossed the medium and into the path of the van. the driver of the truck died. two children in the van survived the crash. the van was head doing iowa for a wedding. police in texas got a huge surprise after a high speed chase. the driver was 12 years old. since the boy is a minor police aren't talking too much about the case but say the boy could face charges for the items found in the truck. at times he was driving over
