back to you. the latest now on that deadly shooting at the university involving students. the glen burney man accused of shooting two fellow student social security claiming self-defense. we're joined live in the studio this morning. >> good morning. students and administrators are trying to come to terms with grief and sadness after a deadly weekend shooting. now, 21-year-old tyrone hall is accused of shooting two fellow students with a shotgun early sunday morning. hall told police the man came to his offcampus home after an alleged assault on a woman that night. he shot both men in the stomach with a 12-gauge shotgun. 21-year-old ellis hart ridge of washington, d.c. is expected to recover. according to charging documents, hall says he fired in self-defense after both men lunged at him. hall has been charged at first degree murder and attempted

murder. he's being held without bond at the allegheny detention center. they played basketball for the college. friends describe them as outgoing and popular. students plan to hold a candle light march followed by a vigil at 9:00 to remember brandon carol. flight cancellations are mounting as volcanic ash shut down operations across europe and prevent americans from getting home and a lot of folks don't know when they're going to be going where they're going. people are stuck in airports living off of bottled water and sleeping in chairs. one family stayed with a family near new york city when they went to the airport to help. >> we are here to offer you a home if you want. and there were like exchanging

victims. later today a letter will go home with students at the two schools where sims volunteered. he also volunteered in two cub scout troops. police say sims sexually abused a 9-year-old girl. that abuse allegedly happened at least twice last summer off school groundballeds. the girl waited until last month to tell a family member because she was s. >> she went to his home, played video games with his kids, sat in his lap. he abused her. he has admitted to sexually abusing this young. >> reporter: sims posted $75,000 bond and was released from jail. if you think your child was a victim, police urge you to call their department's crimes against children unit at 410-853-3650. we're live in towson.

abc 2 news. the drifting vol tannic ash from an iceland eruption has eased enough to allow the trickle of flights to resume in a few parts of europe. only limited flights are being allowed to fly today. an international pilots' group remains that the ash remains a danger and the volcano is still erupting and stealing more of it. and still today, we're going to be joined by adam rosenberg. he is the executive director of the baltimore child abuse center. we want you to tune in because he's going to talk about and help us understand why we seem to be hearing so much about abuse stories not only here in maryland but around the country and also how you can approach the subject with your kids. if you have questions send them here to our station. >> and all new this morning some pretty soiled family laundry aired on tv by baltimore county monique's brother. he says he molested the oscar

winning actress and says he's sorry about it. he said the molestation started when she was 7 and he acknowledged and abused and betrayed the trust of his sister. monique was not on the oprah show yesterday. state prosecutor says that's it. he's going to retire when his six-year term is up in september. he says he's fighting corruption. the state's been hard on imh and he isn't a fan of politicians. sheila dixon left her to resign, he plans to retire to his second home which is in florida. tonight students at frostburg state university plan to hold a university to remember brandon carol. >> he was shot and killed by another student over the weekend. more about this 21-year-old tyrone hall from glen burney and he told police two students came to his offcampus home at 4:00

late-breaking story this morning. well, jamie, that sports writer is fox sports senior baseball writer rosenthal. he says orioles owner rejected ripkin's offer to help the front office. according to his report he told ripkin he didn't want ripkin to receive credit once the team started winning again. both sides denied the story, but this morning ken rosenthal wrote a column standing by his story and questioning both the orioles owner and the hall of famer. now, rosenthal has these questions for peter. why isn't ripkin already working for the orioles? why isn't brooks robinson involved with the team? why isn't frank robinson. rosenthal challenges ripkin saying the ironman's image is pristine but they'll say he can be stubborn, controlling and a hall of fame pain in the reefer.
