entire stretch of 895. several accidents working in this morning. baltimore city, we have a large truck fire highland avenue at boston street. another crash, east 25th street. looking at the cameras, going to see foggy conditions around the area. fortunately no accidents or problems on 95 or 695, in ten minutes, i'll let you know about an accident we have working on the bw parkway. today many of you will be celebrating earth day and celebrating the fact you can make extra cash, especially if you have old appliances hanging around. sherrie johnson has more on how you can take advantage of a federal program. >> reporter: yes, we are here in timonium at the best buy store where the cash for appliances program kicks off today. this helps save you money in conjunction with earth day. it's designed to stimulate the

in the program and bge representatives. in just a few hours, the president will be heading to new york city and the heart of the nation's financial industry. he's going to encourage lawmakers to pass the reform bill that protects us. democratic leaders in the senate are close to a deal to pass the president's reform plan with some key republicans in agreement. >> i think this bill is potentially the beginning of us being able to function in an appropriate way. >> there are some republicans questioning whether the sec probe of goldman sachs was timed to help boost the president's push for financial reform. more police, you'll see them on york road near towson university. this after a home invasion on east burke avenue in which three students were robbed. baltimore county police tell us it hand early tuesday morning. six armed men wearing red

bandanas, stormed into the house. nobody was hurt but three laptops and a playstation were swiped. a wisconsin man has been arrested and charged in connection with a violent attack in anne arundel county. 21-year-old jarvis lemonspan assaulted a woman at her home on norton way in arnold. he tried to sell her magazine subscriptions and then asked to use the bathroom and assaulted her. former archbishop william borders died of colon cancer. he was 96 years of age. a public viewing will be held at 10:30 at the cathedral of mary art queen. . new this morning: fewer

other top stories happening today. baltimore mayor stephanie rawlings blake will take part in an earth day celebration. harford habitat for humanity volunteers will be building an energy efficient modular home. all going on today. we have a winner in last night's big powerball drawing. bad news: the ticket was sold in missouri. the jackpot was worth $258 million. do not throw your ticket away just yet. two tickets in our state matched the first five numbers, worth $200,000. you may have noticed a different look to your $100 bills. the treasury department issued a new bill aimed at stopping your

counterfeiters. 5:49. i was telling my wife yesterday that that bill looks so pretty you might not want to get rid of it. she said she could find a few ways to get rid it. >> ben franklin needs to be framed and put on the wall. temperatures in baltimore low enough to allow moisture in the air to condense out. we have fog around the region. numerous fog warnings in the area roadways and bridges. dense fog advisory west of the area. king county coming in with a hole in one-hour delay. eastern shore, you can have the problem. why doesn't the weather service come in and give you a warning? i don't know. different weather service office. i'm still in the dispute as to why they didn't go with the sterling office that gives us the fog advisories, but essentially in central maryland, in all directions, we have fog. that's the issue. we have rain that cleared out. skies cleared out overnight. the storm pulling off the coast. through southern pennsylvania, you can have pretty thick fog as

well. york and adams county. please be careful. this morning, all directions slow yourselves down even if the fog isn't that bad initially when you get on the roads, you may run into a spot where visibility is cut less than an 8th of a mile. it may be difficult to see some of the overhead signs, exit signs and even some traffic signals. essentially the fog this morning, gives way to a sunny afternoon. we'll go for more sun, optimism. clouds return 11:30 tonight through early morning and getting out of here. we have the next wave of moisture that spills in over the weekend. that'll make for an afternoon on saturday, probably through early next week of wet weather. dense fog advisory expires at 9:00 through the gradual lifting of the fog. fog could get thick and even thicker over the next hour or so. please be patient this morning. this afternoon developing sun gets us up to 70 degrees.

clouds return late and keeps us mild. tomorrow partly cloudy day, high near 70. we'll check out the weekend forecast in a moment. right now 5:51. listen up to kim brown about the fog. >> the fog contributing to several accidents around the area this morning. injury crash on the outer loop past wilkins avenue. update on earlier crash on the bw parkway, good hope road. people like to get an early start on the bw parkway. cleared off to the right shoulder. as we check our drive times around the area. not looking too bad. picking up a little bit because people are reducing their speeds. traveling the outer loop down to i-70, that's going to take you about 7 minutes. 5-minute ride from white marsh boulevard to the beltway. as you make your way on 895, a fog warning in effect for the entire stretch of the harbor tunnel thruway. checking around our cameras really quickly, you'll see traffic is moving at a decent pace. we do have moderate volume

to get you out the door at 6:00. a look at today's top stories. the coast guard is searching for workers still missing after an oil rig exploded in the gulf of mexico. the blast happened about 50 miles off the louisiana coast. the federal government has conducted surprise inspections at 57 problem coal mines. the goal is to help prevent another explosion like the one that killed 29 miners here in west virginia. the president will deliver a eulogy on sunday for the victims. here's justin now. 5:56. we have a one-hour delay in king county, 90 minute delay in queen ann's county. fog delay around most of the area. sun comes back and 70s this afternoon. we'll try to repeat that tomorrow. but 60s and rain showers come in saturday afternoon, even thunder. more rain likely on sunday. that could be a washout. showers continue early next week. one more check on the roads, here's kim. >> we have fog warnings in effect for the entire stretch of
