old from belle air who was hit by a car after crossing a busy intersection. the pedestrian lights at route 24 are on now, but state police received a number of complaints that they were not working on friday. the state highway administration is investigating, but meantime, friends and family of 14-year- old joey are trying to face the reality. they continue to stop by and pay tribute and hug at this growing makeshift memorial. >> god is the giver and taker of life and he has something that he wanted to do with this. >> investigators say that there are no plans right now to charge the driver. there is expected to be a large turnout tonight for a viewing. it will be held at mountain christian church. that runs from 6:00 until 9:00 and wednesday from 10:00 until noon. the funeral will then follow. >> we are hearing from the family of the doctor shot at johns hopkins hospital. they issued a statement saying that the surgeon is in good

condition and asking for privacy during his recovery. dr. david cullen was shot in the stomach on thursday. the gunman, 50-year-old paul became disstraight after the doctor delivered news about his mother's condition and after shooting the doctor, police say pardus shot and killed his mother and took his own life. >> the trial is underway for a man accused in the drunk driving death of angels pitcher, nick adenhart. the jury was shown a taped police interview with the suspect, 23-year-old andrew galo. in this interview, he tells investigators that he drank beer and did shots before that crash last april. adenhart was killed just hours after pitching in a game for the angels. authorities say broncos wide receiver has been found dead in his apartment. the sheriff deputy says his body was found by a female friend after she returned from

an errand with his child. authorities say they believe mckinley took his own life. >> new this morning, the fbi is searching for a man suspected of robbing dozens of restaurants. the fbi says since february of 2009, there had been 38 armed robberies at restaurants in the region. that includes anne arundel, hairford, authorities say the man displayed a gun in all of the robberies and is considered armed and dangerous. the fbi is considering a $10,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect. president obama got an earful from real voters yesterday. numbers may add to his troubles. emily schmidt is live with the latest. how it's played out at the white house. >> the recession is over. the national bureau of economic research declared monday. saying the longest downturn since the great depression actually ended in june, 2009. but many americans say seeing

live with more on what the plans are. sherrie. >> good morning, megan. it is all about making the towson commons a little more vibrant these days. you know, the towson commons is a prime piece of real estate with a number of different options. become a vibrant part of the community once again. towson commons will be auctioned off to the highest bidder today at 1:00 on the county courthouse steps. the towson commons was known as the rebirth of towson. this stretch along york road is all but empty now. businesses have moved, signs neglected. several store fronts empty. the county believes the best use for the space is a hotel or some type of mixed use development. the county set aside some money to help redevelop the commons and has pledged to do so if it agrees with the vision of the new owner. >> towson has everything going for them demographickicly, education wise, two universities. there's no reason why this location can't support a much,

few more notches on the thermometer before we come out. probably about 8:00 is when we hit the low mark for the day and then start warming up after that. it is all about that sunshine. winds begin to shift as we head through tomorrow. that begins to bring in moisture. and a line of thunderstorms along the mountains. going to west tomorrow afternoon, but there is a small chance of an isolated thundershower, if the winds can carry that stuff across parts of the region. we have ourselves a quiet weather pattern as we head through thursday. we'll introduce more moisture and the same story, even though this will be the beginning of autumn, we have ourselves a taste of summer weather with afternoon scattered thunderstorms. overall, we are looking at our 2-degree guaranteed high of 78 degrees. that is near normal. that comes with lighter winds. we start off chilly and start heating up during the mid part of the afternoon. so it may feel warm in the sun, but it's going to take quite a few hours until we get there. as we head through tonight, we

will settle back to 58 degrees. not nearly as chilly and a sign we start to turn the corner. as we check out this extended forecast and fall begins at 5:04, we head up to 85 into the afternoon. increasing clouds, especially west of town with a small chance of thundershower and holding our temperatures in the mid 60s. the first completely full day of autumn and crank it up to 87, running 10 days above normal. we'll knock it back on saturday at 80, and sunday we'll bring in a more widespread storm system, with cool temperatures, that rain could extend into early next week. monday's high temperature only 74. it is 5:50 on the clock right now. here is kim brown. >> starting at 9:00 a.m. this morning. mount royal is going to be closed right there in front of the lyric opera house because of that renaming ceremony. also some fire activity has

5:54 right now. here's a look at stories making headlines. the washington state woman who claimed a stranger attacked her is in some serious trouble this morning. an arrest warrant has been issued for bethany storro. last week, bethany confessed to disfiguring her own face with acid in an attempt to kill herself. if that didn't work, getting a new face would be the answer to all of her problems. >> i think the right thing to do is file the charges. i think the evidence supports the filing of these felony

theft charges and i think the criminal justice suspect needs to react and is reacting. >> the charges against her actually relate to nearly $28,000 donated to benefit her after she was burned in the face. storro's parents said all the money raised will be returned. well too much caffeine can give you a headache, make you feel dizzy, make you feel grumpy, but can it drive you to kill? he allegedly killed his wife and blamed it on too much caffeine. woody smith strangled his wife with an extension cord. his attorney said he suffered temporary insanity after taking too many caffeine laced diet pills and energy drinks. he was worried his wife was going to take off in the night with her two children, so he was trying not to fall asleep. it's not something you see every day. a zebra, look at this. running across the street. can you see?
