seeing some delays and issues around the beltway as we look here at west side of the outer loop. an earlier accident appears to just have been cleared from the left lane. however, you see traffic is moving a little bit slow. it starts to slow as you come around towards reisterstown road past 795 heading towards liberty road. looking at the maps, work an accident on the north side outer loop at delanny valley roadblocking the right shoulder at this time. and we will have trees down in baltimore city. blocking the intersection at east cold spring lane and harford road. also balona avenue closed at seminariy in lutherville because of downed trees. try to avoid that intersection if possible. now back to you. >> thanks, kim. time is 6:31. from train travelers on amtrak to hotels and subways in new york city. beefed up security is coming to the united states in conjunction with terror threats. and travel alerts in europe. emily schmidt has more. >> reporter: the heads of the united states largest mass

transit system have been briefed on the overseas threat. in what's being called an abundance of caution, they are stepping up a security search along amtrak and tightening security in new york city. >> we have done some tactical shifts and changes that we think are appropriate at this time. >> reporter: the travel alert for americans in europe is light on details. heavy on impact. >> i wouldn't say we have specific information about a particular place, a particular time. and yet we have i think sufficient information that justifies issuing of the alert. ruers the government's message, people should continue with plans to travel to europe but do so cashesly. >> be cautious and aware we are following the multiple streams of threat information. >> reporter: fbi and homeland security department official say there is no sign terrorists are targeting the u.s. or its citizens in the current plot. but the government is take no chances.

yesterday, the u.s. attacked a suspected center of the european plot in pakistan. >> 7 people who were in europe involving the plotting have been targeted and others are certainly on the radar of u.s. pakistani and european intelligence service. >> reporter: many travelers say they are still packing their bags. but with a bit more care. >> we know there has been terrorists attacks in the past. so this is nothing to take lightly. >> reporter: the state department says more american travelers are registering with u.s. embassy. double the usual number monday. emily schmidt, abc news washington. a look at news make headlines around the nation right now. authorities in florida say a gunman drove around gainesville in a red pickup truck and went on the shooting spree yesterday. leaving one person dead and five others wounded and the gunman clifford miller shot people at random. police have no moat i for the shootings all though the family says the man had a history of mental illness. he was found dead in his truck.

dramatic pictures from fremont, california as police search for a suspect who duke aim at a motorcycle officer destroying his bike. the driver dragged the office are across two lanes of traffic in a stolen van, stopping only when he was pinned between the van and the streetlight. police even boarded low -- police say he boarded local bus and stopped cars coming in and leaving the city. police also had their weapons drawn scouring the roads and park lots on foot look for the guy they have brought in dogs to trace the man and the officer was taken to the hospital and that suspect is still on the loose. no doubt about it, no surgery is routine. there's a risk and when an ohio mother of two had an allergic reaction to her drugs from surgery with her body it shut down. and there was little hope she would live. listen to this. there was even less hope she would escape brain damage or she might need a heart transplant. 13-year-old havingy daniels had

development professionals will be on hand for the announcement. bank of america jp morgan chase and allied financial are stopping foreclosures processing in many states after questions about whether the filings have been handled properly. aa loan officer at bank authorized 10,000 foreclosures a month without reading any of the paperwork. now the bank will have to wade through a big backlog. the banks are saying it could be as little as 30 or 60 days. you are dealing with 50,000 loans in one case maybe 50, 40, 60,000 in another. that's plenty paperwork to have to go through. >> reporter: the hud announcement will be held today at the baltimore convention center at 12:30 p.m. and in the studios, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. 6:35. it's been 60 days and they weren't speced to see light until christmas. >> yeah but the help of hundreds of people means to the miners could be pulled up to see their

topping a look at news arounded world, the 33 trapped mineers in chile could be out as early as next week. chill' president said the government was close to pulling out the trapped miners and he hoped to be there to see the rescue before leaving for a trip to europe next friday.

before drilling started it was estimated the men would be saved by christmas. but the work of hundreds of people has pushed the date up to now. the miners have been trapped underground for 60 days. really scary moments during a circus performance in the ukraine. a lion trainer is attacked as the crowd looks on. other workers in the rings sprayed water on the two lions trying to stop the attack. audience filled with families. a lot of young children many were scrambling for the exits. trainer was taken to a local hospital for treatment. well, at least this is one traffic mess that you won't be dealing with this morning here in our area. authorities in toronto spent yesterday rounding up pigs on the freeway. police say the truck driver was speeding lost control and rolling over and causing the pigs to get loose. about 60 pigs escaped. none were injured. >> that's good. >> that's good. all right. 20 minutes away from 7. the government says we have to be on high alert especially when we travel. >> yeah. and especially on the trains. i am linda so. how they are planning to ramp up security on amtrak train this is week.

security on trains coming through penn station this friday as part of an effort to keep the rails safe in the u.s. live at penn station, linda so, abc2 news. henl holton has been remove as chairman of the taxation finance and economic development committee. council president jack young made the call last night after holton pled mo contest to campaign finance violation charges. we caught with up her colleagues minutes after they learned of the decision to remove holton as chairwoman. >> i didn't know about it in advance, only a few minutes in advance. but i felt it was the right thing to do and timely. >> this has been like a dark cloud looming for quite sometime. and i believe that she has done a great job during this time. it's unfortunate for all of us. >> howard county police say

three suspect beat a man outside his home before fleeing office erin crashing on betway. the victim told us off camera that he got back from his home at his home in the 354 hundred lun -- 54 hundred block of green doory lane when three guys punched him and the victim says one man pulled out a gun. so he hand over his wallet with 30 bucks and cell phone and also his keys. >> it's quite shocking. mean, the worst thing we have in the neighborhood is kids playing in the streets. >> well, this crime didn't stop there. according to howard county police the three men jump npped a car with a female accomplice and drove about 20 miles evading police officers trying to stop the car until the driver crashed on the beltway there at holland ferry road. all four took off and police caught them near the scene and they will face several charges including armed robbery. 6:49. new information on last week's tour bus crash on interstate 270

i am going miss him so much. >> vogeller was nine year vet of the army and he leaves behind a wife and a son and a daughter. 10 away from 7. jury deliberation continues for a third day in the trial of three men accused of a murder of city councilman ken harris. the jurors asked the judge two questions yesterday. first, they wanted to know how many guns had been used in the holdup at the new haven lounge. and then they wanted to know whether the youngest defendant was holding a gun during the crime. the judge told the jurors to study the evidence at their disposal and defendants gary collins and charles mcgainy both to 22 williams 17. they face life in prison if convicted of the crimes. more than two dozen charges were filed against each of the suspects. the man who hopes to baled casino next to arundel mills mall says ads put out by his opponents are not honest. opponents have always said that the mall is no place for a casino. the new ad claims if anne arundel county voters reject

6:52. pennsylvania man was hit and killed by an amtrak train in middle river. an amtrak spokesperson says the unidentified adult was hit by a northbound train north of the martin state apartment marc station around nine yesterday morning. the victim has been identified as man from york pennsylvania but his name is withheld until they notify the next of kin. spokesman for the o'malley campaign says the president will campaign with him this week. he has the event scheduled for this coming thursday and we understan it will be according to barack obama.com he is coming to bowie state university. mr. obama says oma'am male made tough decision during difficult financial times. and it's 6:53. today former president jimmy cart erin his wife will make a stopper. >> baltimore. >> they will be helping build homes for habitat for humanity. at 11 this morning, they will be in a 2100 block of jefferson to

fort mchenry toll plaza. on the beltway we have incidents early here at harford road traffic slow because of an accident at delaney valley road involving an overturned vehicle. possibly into the woods. so expect a slowdown from about 95 now making your way across the top side. looking at our maps, an earlier accident at liberty road on the outer loop has been cleared but we are seeing residual delays beginning at about reisterstown 795 going to be slow going between owens mills boulevard towards 695. an accident in lock hern at liberty road and camp bell boulevard and campo road and baltimore city southbound lanes of loch raven a at northern parkway. we have downed trees block the intersection at balona and seminary avenue. crews want you to avoid that intersection this morning. now back to you. >> all right, we are gee agnew pop quiz for cars and minivans and all our vehicles. it's going to be a new crash
